Photoshop :: ACR Update Successful - Version Remained 7.3

Apr 3, 2013

Yesterday I attempted at installing the new camera raw updates for Lightroom and Photoshop. I have fully licensed Lightroom 4 and Photoshop cs6 on windows 7 with recently installed , also fully licensed , Nik software plugins.

The Lightroom update was successful with ACR updated to Version 7.4 , while the Photoshop update, although, seemingly completed successfully, did not result in updating ACR, which remained in version 7.3. When I tried to use the update tool again in Photoshop I got a notice that the software is fully updated.

VideoStudio :: Preview Window Remains Blank But Capture Is Successful

Aug 4, 2011

I recently purchased VSP4 and when capturing from Panasonic camera via fire wire, the preview window remains blank but capture is successful. I can preview video on LCD screen of camera but that is all. All the settings seem to be ok. (PAL). However, the options panel is greyed out except for insert to timeline option. Also, the video properties in the options panel are all greyed out. I have a previous version VS3 on another computer which shows the preview window OK on capture. Could this be the integrated video card in my new computer or is there something else going on here?

Lightroom :: How To Safely Convert CR2 Files To DNG After Import From Catalog

Dec 8, 2012

Images on my laptop from 2 photoshoots in the studio today were EXPORTED from laptop as catlog and imported to desktop as catalog.

I imported without moving the files anywhere since I was instructed to move that folder to its final resting place.

The 125 images were importred into LR4 but I see they are still CR2 files.

Is there a way to convert these to DNG inplace? or is it safe to re-import these. I don't want the side car gig.

Photoshop :: Upgrade From CS2 To CS5?

Feb 21, 2012

nstall of CS2 on my Win7 64bit machine and in the process I find that CS2 is no longer supported, (no big surprise,) and CS2 may have issues with 64bit.

I only really use Photoshop, so I'm thinking maybe I should look at why I should or shouldn't upgrade.  (Amazon has the upgrade @ $153.xx USD or something like that at the moment.)

I do original art, inputting drawings and manipulating them in Photoshop, as well as working with digi photos.  Worth the upgrade?What's new that I should be aware of?

Photoshop :: How To Upgrade From CS3

Photoshop :: How To Upgrade AI And CS4 For OSX 10.9

May 11, 2013

Note: I am willing to purchase new software and/or upgrades, however I am not willing to purchase cloud-based software at a monthly charge. Again, what are my options for installing ai and ps on my new machine?

Photoshop :: Upgrade To CS3?

Jul 20, 2008

I currently have the photoshop elements 6/premiere elements 4 bundle and am thinking about upgrading to CS3. Issue is that I quite like integrated organiser/editor in PE6 and that Premiere elements is able to view and pull out photos from the PE6 organiser.

Am I right in thinking that if I upgrade to CS3, it will not be integrated into the organiser any longer?

Does that mean I would have to get lightroom as well? And presumably that still won't talk to Premiere elements?

Photoshop :: Appropriate Upgrade...

Jul 28, 2009

e I've considered upgrading Photoshop on my computer (I like what I have, and hadn't really felt the need or desire to upgrade), and since that time, a lot has changed.  Because of my lack of desire to keep track of the latest changes, I find myself extremely confused now that I am actually looking to upgrade, which is the reason for posting this. The general idea is that I'm currently using Photoshop 7, and when last I peeked in on Photoshop, that was as straight-forward as it needed to be.  7.0 was Photoshop, that's it.  Now what's confusing me is what would be the best version to upgrade to?  The obvious questions to follow -- what do I need it for?  Varied.  I do some web design, I do some photo touchups, and I do other aspects, such as getting ready to start production on an ezine (this is the primary reason I'm considering an upgrade, as I don't feel Photoshop 7 provides everything that I need to do that), for which I'd like to design a simple spread.  What gets me is what all these new variations of Photoshop actually are, and what route should I be looking to go so that it's still the Photoshop I know and love, but upgraded and with the various improvements and such?  I realise that might sound vague, but essentially I don't want to have to learn a whole new product just to enjoy the features that I already enjoy and know how to utilize,

Photoshop :: Upgrade From 5.0 To CS2

Oct 24, 2008

I am trying to re-install an upgrade from Photoshop 5.0 to CS2 after hard disk failure. I called Adobe Customer Service who tried to help by having me rename the instmsia file in CS2 but it didn't work and they referred me here. Does anyone remember how to make the upgrade install? When I put in the cd for CS2 it says that you need Photoshop 5.5 in order to install CS2. I know there is some extra step you have to go through to go from 5.0 to CS2 because I went through it 3 years ago when I first installed CS2.

Photoshop :: Trying To Upgrade To CS4

Apr 29, 2009

I purchased a sealed legal version of Photoshop CS3. A few months later I purchased a sealed legal upgrade to CS4. Today I installed CS3 on the new computer, smooth installation and activation. Upon opening the application, I found I had somehow purchased CS3 Extended, which I don't even want. I then tried to install the upgrade to CS4 (not extended) and the serial number for CS3 was not recognized. I know there is some issue with the upgrading to a normal version from an extended one. How to procede? I searched the knowledge base but it only says that you can upgrade in this way if contact the Adobe Store (if purchasing from Adobe), I did not purchase these from Adobe.

Photoshop :: Upgrade From 5.0

May 30, 2007

I've loaded up Photoshop 7.0 (upgrade from 5.0). I never used it and I am feeling lost.

I've played with making changes to pictures. I get that. I've played with the blending options and gradients. I think I've got the idea of layers down.

But, I don't know how to make just a circle image... or grab something from one image to use on another one. For instance, if I make a button and I save it. It ends up being saved as a square... so that there is white background behind the circular button. How can I just save the circle?

I wanted to cut the head of a flower out of one picture and put it on another picture.

How do I do that? I have found several tutorials on making buttons and doing some graphics... but I can't seem to find a tutorial that will show me how to cut out shapes and reuse them or save images that aren't square.

Photoshop :: Trying To Upgrade To CS4 From CS3

Jun 5, 2009

I am trying to upgrade to CS4 from CS3 Extended.  The Adobe web page states to call Adobe support for this upgrade.  I call them before I attempt the upgrade to ask what I should do.  They tell me to intall it and call back.  I get to the serial screen and call back, they tell me to fully install it in trial mode, then call back.  I do this and call back, but notice it installed CS4 Extended, not CS4.  They tell me they can't help me because I purchased only CS4.  That is all I want is CS4, so I uninstall CS4 extended and try again.  Again the install(from disk) installs CS4 Extended(At least that is what the title page says). Do I need to uninstall CS3 Extended before I install the CS4 Trial version?

Photoshop :: Cannot Upgrade From CS3 To CS4

Aug 2, 2009

Can anyone offer any bright ideas how I can get my CS4 Upgrade to function? I recently purchsed the CS4 Upgrade (Shipped to me in a box) direct from the Adobe website at a cost of about £165GBP. It arrived promptly and safely -  so far so good! My recent topic in this forum told how I couldn't get the CS4 installer to recognize its own serial number but thanks to a few comments from members here, (and to be fair Adobe) this issue was resoved as I hadn't selected the International English for the installer. However, once the upgrade was installed, I could only use it in trial mode and all attempts to convert to full version were met with the same response; namely that the CS3 serial number 'is invalid'. My main concern now is that the trial period has expired and despite several calls to Adobe support (by phone and through the web portal) there is still no solution to my problem: It appears that Adobe are taking me round in circles without a satisfactory solution. During the initial install of CS4, it appears that the installer failed to find the CS3 in its default location (C-Drive) when it is clearly there: I am using it and it functions perfectly well, but CS4 could not see it. Does anyone out there have any clue as to why this could be? Could it be a problem with Windows? I have asked Adobe this and so-far had no answer. My case has now been passed to Customer Care - I await their response but am becoming impatient as you can imagine! So far I have paid £165 for a product that I cannot use (Plus the cost of the phone calls!) I have even issued both sets of serial numbers to Adobe who tell me these are in order, however, the programme still does not recognize my CS3. I was almost going to uninstall both CS3 and CS4 and reinstall from scratch, but am a bit reluctant to try this in case my original CS3 will not reload or recognize the serial - In this instance I will be totally stuffed! For anyone who can help here are some details: Original CS3 and CS4 upgrade are both Photoshop and NOT the extendedMy OS is Windows XP Pro with SP3When I installed CS4 the platform was International EnglishAntivirus softwear and my firewall were turned off during the installMy Starsign is Sagittarius!
