I am trying to make a 2d image look 3d in photoshop 6. Specifically, I have a scan of paper cut to look like a piece of chalk. How do I go about making it look like it is an object and not a piece of paper?
I am pretty new to Photoshop and I have come across a few things that I would love to do but I cant figure out how to do them. Also, I have elements so I'm not even sure if I can do them. Anyway one of the things I am trying to learn is how to put lines over an image. For example the very first picture on this site: ...
I have two graphics and a couple of short lines of text for each. I would like to place the text for the first image above that image, then below that add the next brief bit of text with the second image below that text and save all of it as one file.
In other words, the file should look like:
text graphic text graphic
I have each of these separate pieces saved, I don't know how to combine them into a single image that I can save as 1 file in PhotoShop. I am using PhotoShop 7 on an XP machine.
I have this image that I created and want to use it as my company logo. Is there any way to make this image a 3D image. I would also like to make it a cool metal or chrome look.
I don't use Photoshop for extensive stuff, I like to make graphics for Glitter-Graphics for fun. I can't find out how to make an image smaller. When I go to the top and click on layer and try to make it smaller, it disappears althogther. How does the crop tool work? Also after I hve one picture open, if I open another the first disappears, why?
I have been creating some images for e-mail marketing and would like to spice it up with some colored backgrounds. How do I make my images transparent without using polygon tool.
There are times I have to use the 32bit version of CS6, because the plugin being used can't be used in the 64bit version. But the last two days, this error started up out of the blue. This is the error popup I get, verbatim "Could Not Complete the Browse In Bridge command because Photoshop was unable to find the Javascript plug-in"
This error doesn't happen with the 64Bit version, nor does it happen in CS5 64 or 32bit, and not in CC 32bit (downloaded the trial to test to see if it was a 32bit compatbility problem) and none of these cough up this error.
I haven't copied or deleted any parts of Adobe or any files in any of the program directories. It happens in Photosho I try to Browse in Bridge from Photoshop, not if Bridge is already open.
And yes, I know Extension Manager CS6 no longer supports Bridge, but I wasn't using it. This error just started yesterday. Been using the 32bit version of CS6 for certain plugins for over a year. Again, haven't deleted or added anything.
I found out how to do this recently so I decided that I wanted to make a tut for those who don't know how to make an icon image. This icon image is for the libraries tab on your computer. Under the libraries tab there is Music, Pictures, Documents, and Photos
First you will need the ICO (Icon image format) Format extension for Photoshop which can be downloaded here:
[URL].........
The download link and tutorial on how to install it is all in the link above. Once you have that all set you can now launch Photoshop to create your icon image. Once you have launched it, create a new document with the size as in the image below.
[URL]..........
Create the image you want. I used a simple one by using the custom shape tool by pressing "U" on your keyboard and with the basic blending options.
[URL].........
The reason why the image is pixelated is because it is an icon image. Since the image is only 256x256 pixels when you zoom in on it that will get you the pixely result. The reason why I zoomed in is so you can see it. But don't worry this is no the end result. Just continue reading and you will see.
So once you have created the icon go ahead and press
file>save as>(under format choose the ICO)>and choose the name that you want to name it. And save it in your C: drive. You will see why to save it in your C: drive in a sec.
[URL]..........
So now that you have created the icon and saved it now you can create the new library.
[URL].........
Name the library whatever you want I named it "Sample" for tutorial purposes. Notice how it gives you a default boring icon image for your library.
[URL].........
So now once you have created and named your library now it is time to get the icon image into place. Go to computer/c: Drive/users/YOU/ And now once you have reached this area you will need to access a hidden folder named "appdata" to do so press "Alt" then a menu bar will show. Click tools>folder options>and view. Find the option to view hidden folders then press apply then ok. Now we shall continue so AppData>Roaming>Microsoft>Windows>Libraries
Now you should see all the libraries including the one you just created.
[URL].........
[URL]..........
Once you have reached your destination then open a new text document with notepad and drag the library you just created in notepad. The result should look like this:
[URL].........
once you have reached this point click at the end of the second to last line down then press enter and enter in this information
<iconReference>c:"NAME OF ICO FILE YOU CREATED IN PS".ico</iconReference>
Example:
[URL]...........
Once you have entered that information go to file>save and the icon image should appear on the library you created.
[URL]............
Now you are officially finished. Go and spread the news and joy.
how do I make an image the actual size it would be if I were to print it out?
I have an image that if I go Image>Image size... it says it's 5.5inches ... but it only takes up 3.5 inches of the screen
it is important that it prints out at 5.5inches not 3.5 inches which is what it is doing .. if I open it in firefox or another app that can print images onscreen it is 3,5 not 5.5 inches
I want to make the mask of an image by converting all non-white pixels of the image into black and leaving the white pixels unchanged. How to do this in Photoshop?
I had to reload my CS software and have not been able to use CS3 as the default vile viewer. Now CS is loaded when using the "open" and CS only appears in the "open with list".
Obviously I would prefer all Photoshop programes (PS6, 7, etc) to be available, but will settle for the latest (CS3) to open my images. It would seem that because I reloaded CS the OS sees this as the default imagefile viewer. Have not been able to find an answer in the forum replies or FAQ's.
I was wondering if there is a way to make a color image monochromatic, not necessarily gray scale, but for instance using a range from white to blue to black, or maybe just scales of blue? thanks (and ill probably have many more questions as i am finally focusing on a website project i have had in mind for a long time).

How can I make the quality of the image better? everytime i draw something, then zoom in, it becomes extremely pixelated. does that mean i have to draw on a bigger canvas? is there no way to make it high quality without drawing on a bigger canvas?
