Oct 24, 2012I like stroke, I use it a lot, but is there any way to not have outset strokes with rounded corners but straight corners?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to make some text with two outline colours.
(I'm not too concerned at this stage with the squeezing effect on the text)
Adding a stroke layer style (then adding a second one) sort of works, but the corners are rounded - I want them (as in the Fforde book example) to follow the crisp corners of the font itself.
I have the following rounded rectangle
Need to make border glossy like below image
In order to do that, I've expanded this shape and created a ellipse with no stroke above button, with transparency/screen. This is what I got:
Now I need to get rid of the rest of ellipse, so the button will be transparent on upper boundaries. Inner part of button should be white, but whatever I put between button and ellipse should receive glossy effect. How to do that?
I have a rounded corner rectangle in a template that I am working on..I would like to extend the vertically but keep the rounded edge dimensions the same as I extend vertically.
Right now I extend the rectangle but the edges also extend.
How do I make the frame & photo rounded just like they did in the following template I'm working on in Flash. They say they did it in Photoshop.
I used the rectangel tool and it always makes the photo inside out. I need it to round the edges not hide the photo. Is there a way to show the middle of the photo and then make a frame like they did on the website?
I'm using Photo Shop Elements.
Is there a way or an option I am missing to convert my regular paths to a path stroked with a brush profile, while maintining the proper stroke width?
For instance, I have a regular line with a stroke of 5 and then add a brush profile, which then converts the original stroke to whatever the brush was made at.
I have a shape with a black stroke and green fill. I have a white line segment over it. How do I get it so that the end of the line segment doesn't show over the black stroke of the object? If I try to put the line segment behind the object, then the object fill hides it completely.
I'm new to illustrator and I've tried to search for an answer but I don't know the best way to accomplish what I want to do. Seems like some combination of transparency or knockout groups and I've read a bit about this and can't figure out what I need to do.
I need an outline on a stroke that i drew but when i apply object>path>outline stroke i keep getting my initial stroke applied as well. I only need the outline, not the initial stroke. I use Illustrator CC.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to figure out a way to automate a simple, yet repetative process I do countless times a day. Ideally, I'd like to tie it to a keystroke to speed up my workflow.
I work on line art and colorways for footwear, so the way I'm coloring these shapes and strokes break apart the different materials and pieces of the shoe.
While coloring line art, I work with Pantone spot colors as fills for closed path objects. I then have to manually apply that same color to the stroke, set the stroke to 0.5px weight, convert that spot stroke color to CMYK, and add 15% to the K value.
I found some code in an older post for applying the actively selected object's fill color to the stroke, but I'm having but I'm having trouble with the next step of figuring out how to take that spot stroke color and convert it to a CMYK build that I can then add 15% black to. Is this something that's even possible? I've spent about an hour playing with the script and have only had luck matching the fill color or turning the stroke white.
I have an image that has a black stroke around it. I'm wanting to make that transparent and add a stroke to the outside of the black stroke, so it will basically be an invisible space there. Is that possible or is there an easier way?

I want to make my own graphics for a website. I want the tables to have rounded corners similar to the ones on the following website. (the main window that says article has a rounded left corner)
page with rounded corner
I don't want to "rip" them I want to know how to make these things on my own. I could do just a plain rounded corner with no problem it is the 3d effect that I'm interested in.
If someone could just point me to a tutorial or something like that for basic website graphics I would be grateful.
I designed a logo in photoshop but I cant make 360° rounded text, getting only 180°.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a box I made with the square selection tool. I added a 25 px feather to it to give it nice rounded corners.
I did a paint bucket fill inside the selection and it doesn't fill JUST the insides like I thought it'd do. It does MOST of it but it blends outwards towards the sides of the selection so it's not one solid color.
ALSO when I flood fill a few times, it EXTENDS passed my selection box into the rest of the window!
My question is, how do I make a selection box with rounded corners flood fill COMPLETELY?
I have an image that I created with rounded corners that sits on a transparent background. But when I save it the picture (jpeg) always comes out a rectangle without rounded corners (with a white background). How can I save it with rounded corners?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if this is part of PS 6.0 or some kind of technical glitch I caused but I've been using PS for a while now, but never tried doing a rounded bar via a rectangular marque feathered and then filled. However when I do this it gives a gradient effect around and outside of the marque. A "halo" if you will. On top of this it doesn't fill it completely. I can go back over it with the other paint tools and it dyes it more, yet still gives it the halo effect, but more pronounced.

I'm using the elliptical marquee tool (with shift) and after that the rectangular marquee tool to mark the rest, then inverse my selection and press delete to remove the corner, only after i copied the graphics to a transparent layer. See the example right upper corner here:

I love that Photoshop CC has a way to modify rounded corners on rounded rectangles, but when I try to scale the rectangle with the transform tool, the rounded corners keep the same measurements rather than scale in proportion to the rectangle size. Is there an option that I'm overlooking here?
