I have absolutely no idea what to do. I am running PS CS on Win XP Pro.
The only filters that I am able to select out of the entire list are
- Blur
- Noise
- Sharpen
- Stylize
- Other
Everything was working just fine the other day. All the filters had shown up. My work is in RGB mode 16 bit. Everything is set to what it was when it was working.
I have hardly ever used filters for any of my work as I have preferred using Xara's native tools and effects to get what I wanted. But recently, I was inspired by some animation work which used backgrounds painted in Photoshop. They used a lot of textures which enhanced the look of the animation and so I thought I'd try to simulate it within Xara.
It works very well and I can export it as a PSD retaining the layers and Alpha channel. But here come my questions.
1. How can I remove the two Alien Skin demo plugins as I already have the full versions.
2. Why don't the native Photoshop plugins--Artistic, Sketch, etc.--seem to work?
In CS3 you could change something to make all filters act like smart filters, even though they won't. I found this worked very well, now I have CS4 and would like to do the same but can't remember what to do to make it work.
I just downloaded a bunch of filters and I dragged them into the filters directory under plugins, but when I open photoshop, none of the filters are there.
I downloaded and installed GIMP 2.8.8 in Windows XP. The Filters menu option shows only Repeat last, Re-show last and Reset all filters.Nothing else in there. Where are the filters?
I am working on a dormitory project and need to provide a required light and ventilation schedule. I have figured out how to create a schedule for each level, but I want to isolate only the Dormitories and the Kitchenette (weed out all the other rooms such as corridor, elevator, storage, toilets, showers, stairs, trash, electrical, etc.).
I tried using seclusion filters, but there are too many items to exclude and cannot fit them all into the 4 filter categories. I am trying to just get the rooms that begin with 'D' and 'K'. I tried providing the variable 'Begins With' for D and in the next line 'Begins With' K, but then nothing shows up.
Is there a way to provide information to the filter that would allow it to show only rooms beginning with D AND K? I cannot seem to get it to work. I have been playing around with separation values within one filter category (i.e. 'Begins With' D, K) but apparently you cannot add multiple variables within one of the filter items.
When I'm editing a file in PS CS5, when I want to used Artistic Filters it's greyed out, as are most of the options in the Filters menu. This happens whatever type of file I'm working on, and it doesn't matter whether I'm working in layers, a flattened image or a fresh image that's completely unedited and am using the background layer.
I frequently use the BPelt Flatten and Multifill plugins and they have always worked perfectly until today. Now I get the following error: "Could not complete the [Multifill/Flatten] command because of a problem with the filter module interface."
I use Photoshop CS6 Extended with the Creative Cloud membership, and just recently updated to version 13.1.1 x64. I believe this may be related, as the plugins worked before the update and nothing else has changed.
Im makin this home page graphic...and im using a few PS filters. Is ther a way u can put a filter in a new layer on a transparent background so that u can edit it....(emboss....distort it?)
I'm working on a Logo for my college projest right now and was wanting to put some texture into it, so I tabbed into Filter tab and it wont allow me to click on "Texture", nor will it let me use "Artistic", Brush Strokes" or "Sketch"...
I need to know how i can use all filters when working with a rastarized layer in Photoshop CS2. Often it's only very limited selected filters i can use!
I've noticed that the Filters menu lacks many of the bundled CS5 filters e.g. the Filters | Artistic menu. By adding the CS5 Plugins directory as an Addition plugins folder in Preferences, they return, though some plugin is causing a VC++ Runtime error, but loading proceeds and the CS5 filters are present.
Is this by design? Are the remaining filters being delivered in an update, or have they been dropped?
I recently upgraded from LR4 and CS6 to LR5 and Photopshop CC. My Nik filters transfered to LR5 but not Photoshop CC. How can I reconnect these filters to the new software?
Some of my filters in CS5 are greyed and can't be used. For instance: artistic, brush strokes, distort, others are black and I can use them, such as charpen, blur, noise, stylize. I've tried everything, and have also reinstalled. Patches are up to date. These filters used to work.
my old computer recently died, and i reinstalled Ps-CS5 (windows7) on my new computer. now my default plug-in filters (like "pixilate" and "artistic") are greyed-out and unusable
Just in the past few days, I've been having problems adding artistic filters to my work. I'm on a MacBook Pro. Just opening the filter gallery, or even trying one of the artistic or other filter types directly from the list, causes the dreaded rainbow wheel of death. I then need to force quit PS, and start over.
I can understand this happening with fonts or styles or brushes... add-ons that can often get corrupted, or be bad files to begin with. But the system filters?
PS 5.5 I have a .tif file from a camera. It has not been worked on in PS. It has no selections, no layers, etc. When I select filters, all the options, including sharpen are grayed out. How can I get access to the various filters?
I am a relatively novice user, but not totally new. I have CS4, loaded from a disc, not downloaded. Mac, with 10.5.6 loaded, have greyed out filter gallery, and only a few filters available but more are there, but greyed out.
I have Photoshop CS2, Windows XP version, and I have several filters dimmed that used to be available in my previous CS version. The filters are present in my plug-in folder, and I even copied the dimmed ones over from my CS2 installation CD. The filters are dimmed out no matter what I do. I really need my 3D Transform filter to work,
After I successfully used the filter called "stamp" once, now it basically doesn't work. I can even load the original, raw photgraph that worked before and try to repeat what I did and it's doing what it does to all photos now -- all it shows is a very white, washed-out looking version with useslessly dim content, no matter how I tweak the values. It doesn't help to turn the photo black & white first, & it doesn't help to convert the image into "smart filter"-friendly. I'm doing exactly the same thing but it doesn't work now. What on earth is going on? Am I going to have to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop? That is a huge pain to just arbitrarily try unless I have to (they'll say I've installed the max amount of times... I will have to find the copy of Elements I upgraded into Photoshop full... there's never an opportunity to select the version of Elements I upgraded from because it was latter vs. than listed available, so I'll have to talk voice to someone about both matters...). I have a licensed, registered copy of Photoshop CS3 (without the rest of the suite) running on Vista 64, quad processor with 8 gig RAM.
