Recently the mouse has started flickering and not lining up with brushes when I'm editing photos in Photoshop CS4. When I use a brush, the mouse arrow will appear, flickering overtop of where the brush point is (the brush point flickers too when I move the mouse) so I can't see what I'm doing exactly. I installed the latest updates of Photoshop CS4 and it didn't work.
View 8 RepliesWhen painting with the paintbrush the cursor flickers between the round brush size cursor to an arrowhead. The paintbrush continues painting as it should, but the cursor flickers constantly between the 2. This is a visual annoyance but doesn't seem to affect performance.
I'm on Photoshop CS6 (latest updates) on 2008 Mac Pro 3,1 with OS X 10.6.8.
PS CC Brush flickering to arrow after each stroke. My problem is on Windows 7 Ultimate SP1.
As a computer tech, I have tried the tricks I know, and thought I would get on here and see if/what I am missing.
Im running Photoshop CC 64bit on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, updated using 3 monitors between the nvida and on-board intel graphics. I have also Checked that PS is updated as well.Im on a Intel I3 Sandy with an nvida GTX 550 Ti 9.18.13.2049 (6-21-2013) with 8gigs of ram
I am also using a bamboo Capture (It's all I can afford right now) with the latest drivers (5.3.2.1).I have unplugged the capture and was able to reproduce the problem just using the mouse.
I testing and reproduced the problem on PSD's large and small and jpg's as well.I have also disabled and enabled several options in the tablet and windows tablet settings.
I have reproduced the problem using all 3 monitors in full screen and windowed mode.I have been able to reproduce the problem in most of the settings with in PS CC.
A more detail of the problem is:99% of the time, at the end of a stroke (Pen or mouse) make the windows arrow pointer appear instead of the brush. So, Lets say I make several one direction strokes. If the mouse (Pen) keeps moving after the stroke, the windows arrow cursor will blink on screen. If you to the same thing and end the pen/mouse motion with the stroke the arrow cursor icon will appear and stay there until you move the cursor again.
Just remind me again and crush my dreams, but the [ and ] cannot be mapped to the mouse wheel, can they?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI own a Wacom tablet and I've used it for about a year now.. and now that I mostly use my Laptop, I use the wacom tablet as a mouse pad (using the mouse that comes with it). I opened up photoshop today on my laptop and I was trying to erase some things using the brush command and it didn't work.. after an hour of panic and googleing I had the idea of using the pen.. which works.
I've deleted preferences, reset tools, and everything.. but its not working. No brush commands work (Clone, Brush, Eraser, etc.) but everything else will work.
I don't get it.. Is it something with pressure maybe?
Thats the only difference between mouse and pen.. pen adds pressure sensitivity.
I can't use the pen for pixel editing as well as I can use a mouse.
After upgrading from CS6 beta to CS6 release this function stopped working (on OS X Lion). The only think that happens when I use both keys (Ctrl+Alt) and move the mouse is moving the whole application/cs6 windows.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I move my mouse over my image the brush cursor is not moving and it will not let me click on my image (with the mouse) the crosshair/cursor will follow it, however the brush will not, nor will any other tools, my wacom tablet however works fine.
I thought it must be something to do with GIMP accepting input but its not going as of yet.
I was trying painting with gimp and there is a shortcut in gimp to change the size of the brush/opacity my moving the stylus like you can on photoshop or sketchbook pro.

This would be an incredible time-saver for us artists and not very complex. If not I will suggest this feature to the gimo developers.
right clicking the mouse normally repeats the previous command. In this case I right click to repeat the "break at point" command. Instead of getting the break at point command, I always get the "break" command.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I move my mouse over the drawing area, the brush simply freezes at the corner next to the rulers, the regular cursor continues to move and I can click on the buttons, tools and menu, but my mouse is not functioning in the workspace, I can use my wacom tablet fine, but I still need my mouse to be functional for lassoo tools etc.
It is a very recent install, I may have some how buggered the mouse input when configuring my wacom.
I'm running Arch Linux, with KDE.
I need to do some shading work in Gimp, and for this it would be very nice to have a quick way to change my brush size. Luckily there's a note in the gimp docs on how to program the mouse wheel to do this:

My laptop only has a touchpad with a little scroll area on the side, but I can't think of a good reason why this should be any different from a scroll wheel on a real mouse. Unfortunately, though, following the documentation doesn't work.
In fact, as far as I can tell, the input controllers dialog does nothing at all on my system--I've looked at the settings for the all of the 'active controllers,' and none of the current settings there match with the actual behavior of Gimp as far as I can tell. It also worries me that the controller names are so generic--they're listed as 'Main Keyboard' and 'Main Mouse Wheel' rather than mentioning a synaptics touchpad, and my tablet doesn't even seem to be listed.

I am using illustrator for doing some calligraphy and I am not really experienced with this program. I am using a mouse pen with pressure to draw/write calligraphies. My question is, can I change the pressure amount after I drew lines using brush tool. Let’s say I drew a line, it is good but still not satisfactory. I just want to do a little change in pressure amount in some segments –not all the line- on line. Does illustrator give me this option?

I can delete and start again, but if there is way to move or hide the anchor point while still being able to adjust the setting, it would be handy to know for next time it happens.

It's fairy easy to create a stroke with a point on the front end using the Shape Dynamics, but how do I create a point on the tail end as well? I have a Wacom pen and even the sensitivity function on it can't get a point on both ends no matter how sensitive I draw a quick stroke.
The stroke on the right is the typical brush stroke I get when playing with the "shape dynamics" to get a point on my stroke. The stroke on the left is one I rendered to display how I'd like my strokes to look.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI write a program, this program needs to insert some standard illustrations. I made these standard illustrations into different blocks. And I store these blocks in a dwg file. Everytime I need to insert some illustrations, I just click the mouse on the current drawing, I want the illustration inserted. These means the following points:
(1) Import the blocks to the current drawing, if the blocks have already been imported, then do nothing.
(2) Specify the insert point by clicking the mouse, and I want the block's insert point to coincide with the mouse clicking point.
I am currently still in the trial version of CC Photoshop. My window keeps flickering in and out while I am trying to edit.

I don't want it highlighting the features automatically. I want it to highlight once I click over a feature. My colleagues and I are very distraught by this feature, and will be discontinuing our use of your products that do not allow us to turn this feature off. I'm not sure why you'd want to weed your customer base like this, assuming that I can't turn this option off from the research I've done pouring through the hundreds of complaints related to this issue. I'm trying to draw on CS6 and the screen keeps flickering Black, I've tried to switch off using the graphics card and switching to Basic mode, that hasn't worked.

I have installed Photoshop CS6 - but when I attempt to edit anything the image flickers (it flickers to black and back again to the image). The background also flickers (from the grey grid to black and back again.
What would cause this? (Note: the application works, I can save, edit and such, but this flickering is driving me nuts! It only occurs when I attempt to do something to the image.)

50% of the time, on loading CS4, the screen flickers as though it is redrawing elements. Happens when selecting tools, menu items or just editing image.
Turning off OpenGL fixes the problem for image editing though screen still flickers/flashes on loading / minimising app.
No other apps on the PC exhibit flashing - even OpenGL ones.
