View 6 RepliesI am pretty new to Photoshop and I have come across a few things that I would love to do but I cant figure out how to do them. Also, I have elements so I'm not even sure if I can do them. Anyway one of the things I am trying to learn is how to put lines over an image. For example the very first picture on this site: ...

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm practicing with Refine Edge and moving subjects from one image to another. What do you look for in an image that you use Refine Edge with to determine if it looks good/believable after an object or person is extracted from a background. Besides making sure that the edge is not jagged, hairs are not clumpy, details around an edge are not too soft, are there other things that will make someone looking at an image know that it was extracted from another location?

1. Have the image centered in the middle of the stage
2. Have it scale to fill the screen always so there are no black bars (ie, I want a stage with only picture on it)

(This project is only aimed for iPad and above - desktop, so don't need mobile resolutions)
My work around is to do this via manual CSS, but there has to be a better way to keep it within the Edge compositiion
I also tried to import this Edge stage into Reflow after seeing this demo [URL]...
but just got blank screens : [URL].....
(I do like Reflow's ability to target specific resolutions but I don't quite need it for this project).
How do you make the glow? So far I haven't seen any glow tools.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a picture I was asked to make for someone and there are 2 images that I would like to have a gold glow coming from, as if there were a light behind it. It'll be on a black background and there's nothing really fancy about it at all, though if I see anything that'd fit in, I might add it ;-)
I'm guessing that I'll need to place sumthing gold behind the image and add some sort of effect to the border, but I'm not really sure what that'd be.
I am looking to make a specific effect on one of my videos. I want to have a radial glow that will pulse, as in get brighter and dimmer. How to create this effect?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis seems like a simple task, but I've had trouble matching up with it well. I have graphics of some book pages, and would like to make them glow/radiate very similar to this video from a Star Wars documentary:
The main issue so far is just making it really look like it's glowing, rather than just everything getting brighter. I tried Filters > Aristic > Softglow, but that didn't work too well.
I have this little mini project I want to do, It's a picture of my friend and I with Navi (Zelda) in our hands, bascially the effect I want to cast is Navi's blue light reflecting off our faces,

Also, I've used CS4 a fair bit and haven't come across this same problem but in PE when I'm editing things like adjusting text on a layer and I'm changing options with hotkeys to resize the text box for eg, Elements seems to jump to the background layer quite alot and then I have to click back on the layer I want to edit between changing tools. Is it something to do with the Esc key?
I'm trying to create a "blue glow/light rays" around an image of the planet Earth and I can't just seem to make it look realistic like this image here:
How to do this technique? You can find a planet earth image by searching for NASA BLUE MARBLE and it's free.
I need to create a glow around the brush in the attached image.
I have created this with (Effects > Outer Glow > White (Screen 90% opacity) > Blur 3mm
I can't say I am particularly impressed with the result. I wanted more of an obvious glow around the image.
Making certain portions of an image glow. Because I am the most artistically capable of my peers, I was chosen to make a section T-shirt for my school's band's saxophone section. I have the front done, but to do back. The idea is have a slightly obscured saxophone with the key holes and bell glowing. Thing is, how to do it. I tried messing around with the glow effect in version 3.5.4, but that affects the entire images.

Attached File(s) g.png (13.95K)
how to fade to transparency by myself I am left with a residue problem when saving to a different file format.
I took my square image and pasted as a layer. Behind this is a raster layer flood filled with black (As the image will be going onto a black t-shirt). I used a rounded rectangle selection tool to make a mask somewhere just inside the image borders. I then applied a Gaussian blur to the mask and it faded the edges of the image beautifully. I checked with the black background layer off and again it faded nicely into transparency.
Now my issue is that when I save it as a PNG file (with background set to transparency of course) and try to use it against various coloured backgrounds there seems to be a white glow around the edges where it is meant to fade out.
I have a Photoshop image, which has been edited down to a shape of a person, with a transparent background. I would like to use this image in Illustrator, and do not need it to be vector, but would like the object to be shaped like the image, rather than a rectangle. How do I get the Illustrator to read the edge of the image as the edge of the object?
