View 2 Replies View RelatedI've deleted my PS preferences and restarted, and I cannot get this filter to do what is was just doing a day earlier. It doesn't matter what the foreground/background colors are, nor does it matter what the resolution of the file is. I've experimented with every variable. The filter effect changes the filled layer to a solid color of the current foreground color. No lines, dots or circles at all.
I'm trying to make lines in a filled layer, or a rasterized text layer.Adjusting the sliders has no effect at this point, but the other Gallery filters DO work, oddly enough.
I've used this filter effect many times over the years, and it just started acting wonky. This is PS CS6, on Mac OSX 10.8.5.It seems to be unpredictable or temperamental. Is there a reasonably-priced plugin that will create lines that are completely adjustable?
1.) In CS6, the Filter Gallery seems like a great way to quickly preview lots of different effects. However, it does not seem to be working with all of my installed filters. Is there a reason why it only works with some filters OR is there some option or way to get other filters into the Filter Gallery?
2.) After applying a filter, and using Command + Shift + F on a Mac to reduce the effect of the filter, it comes up with a slider set at 100%
is 100% showing the percentage of the filter that was applied previously, so if I drop it to 90% it is simply reducing the filter to 90% of its previous amount?
The filter gallery in Photoshop CC has suddenly stopped working.. I am using the 8 bit channel.
None of the filters will apply to the image, but they are not greyed out, just won't change the image..
I have the trial version of CS3 BETA and my filter only has eight options instead of the usual.

I scanned an image using Image Capture which turned it into a tiff. I opened the tiff in Photoshop and discovered that Filter Gallery was grayed out.
I opened an older Photoshop tiff and looked for differences. The older one, wherein filter gallery was available, was an eight bits per channel document. The new one is 16 bits per channel. When I changed the new one to eight bits per channel, Filter Gallery became available.
If my (extremely limited) understanding of the technology is correct, there is more information in 16 bits per channel and hence presumably a richer quality image. On general principle of course I'd prefer not to lose any richness. Is there some way I can get Photoshop to give me access to the filter gallery in a 16 bits per channel mode?
Per this screen shot, I am unable to view or access the filter gallery and I would very much like to. The history portion of the screen shot shows my workflow.
First I opened an image and then opened a Curves adjustment layer. Because I only wanted to change the luminosity values, I then changed the Blending Mode from Normal to "Luminosity". Then I made a minor Curves adjustment, followed by forming a new layer via copy of my original background layer.
At that time, I was unable to access the filter gallery. I therefore converted that layer I had just created into a smart object but, as the screen shot demonstrates, am still unable to access the filter gallery.
I am running CS6 on a Mac and I am working in Adobe RGB image mode, 16 bit.
When I try to shutdown I see 'waiting for Stained Glass (100%)'.I can use other applications, it is just the CS6 freezing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe new filter gallery takes forever to preview. I assume this is because the preview area is so much bigger. I personally find it much more advantageous to preview a small portion of the image until I get the settings right, then run the filter on the entire image.
Is there a way to run the filter functions in "classic mode", or reduce the size of the preview area so I don't have to wait forever each time I try a new setting?
It could be interesting to activate a layer filter from a combobox (I'd like to have this combo into the layers panel) in order to have fast access to the layers beginning to this filter.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI created a few seamless tiles in PSD format to be loaded into the Texturizer filter under the Filter Gallery in CS6 on a Windows 7 machine. In the flyout menu, there is an option to LOAD a new texture. I loaded four or five new ones, but only the last one is visible in the list. From all I can tell, I will always have to load a new texture there to be able to use it. The default textures are always loaded : brick, burlap, canvas & sandstone.
In the plug-ins section of the Preferences, there is a check box for : Show all Filter Gallery Groups and Names. What does that do?
add a dozen new textures and make them always accessible in the Texturizer plug-in?

I think I may have to rasterize the layer or something like that. Basically I carry out the filter. nothing changes.Older versions you could see what was going to happen before you carried it out.
I have a new 15" macbook pro, and have the set requirements to run Photoshop CS6 even after the recent updates. However, I still cannot access the "Filter Gallery", and when I went to find the so called "Filter Gallery" plugin folder--what do you know that plugin is missing all together.
I've already done the Preferences, show all plugins, etc... deal and this is not the issue here. My Filter Plugin is missing all together, and my macbook pro was purchased brand new from the Mac store, 3-4 months ago.
I have been a paying Adobe Creative Cloud member since day one, when it first became available, and now I'm over the top upset over this problem! How can I fix this missing plugin?
