View 2 RepliesI am running Photoshop CS3 on Windows XP
when I use photoshop the cursors are 'Normal brush tip' and 'standard' as I have set them up in the preferences and sometimes they revert back to what I assume must be the default settings. The only way I can get back to the settings I have set is to close Photoshop, close windows and start again.
I was trying to follow this[URL]...
But the location it suggests (C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)Plug-InsFile Formats) does not exist. I've managed to find an alternate location, I assumed it must have changed in CS6.
C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)RequiredPlug-Ins contains a File Formats folder. I copied the .8bi file for .cur files and it still did not allow me to save anything as a .cur. I am using Windows 8, 64 Bit.I also copied the file to the Adobe Bridge CS6 Plug-Ins folder.
I have Photoshop 6 in Windows 7 Home. Trying to use Clone Stamp tool to fix photo, but the cursors are too small to see, so I can't do anything with it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to use Photoshop to make cursor files (.cur)? I've looked for tutorials (and not found much) that involve special grpahics tools,
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can change the default cusor in XP Pro but it doesn't carry over to PS. The preferences/display&cursors tab is limited.
What I need is a heavier cursor or full cross hairs. I'm running 1920 x 1200 on a 22 inch Sony LCD screen. With aging eyes it's too difficult to pick up the tiny cross cursor on various photo backgrounds.
I'm running CS3 Photoshop on an Intel Mac, OS X.4.10
I set the cursors in preferences to:
Painting : Normal Brush Tip
and
Other Cursors: Precise
However when I use the Brush tool, healing tool, clone, etc. I only get the "Precise" crosshair (the cursor that looks like a plus). This really sucks because I can't see how large the brush is nor the area I'm painting. Holding down shift key doesn't help either. I reinstalled PS and the problem persists. Only when the brush tool is below 40 pixels does the Brush cursor that I want (the brush circle) show up. Photoshop into using the brush cursor?
I cannot stand the CapsLock key. In fact, I modified my registry to remap the caps lock key to ALT-NumLock or something. But every time I use Photoshop, I have to be able to toggle the capslock key to enable disable precise cursors. So, then, I switch back to my primary app (InDesign, Illustrator, Dream weaver, anything ) and I type about 30 words before I realize I still had the CAPS Lock on.
Â
there is a way to remap the precise cursor toggle to another key.
I've been using photoshop CS6 since it came out of beta, and I've been happy with 99% of the interface changes, except for some of the the new tool cursors which now have arrows in the upper left corner. I've been meaning to post this a while ago, but it seemed that the forums were offline.
Â
One example is the crop tool, but what mainly hinders me are the lassos and paint bucket cursor icons. Is there any way I can replace those with the original ones from cs5 and prior?
Â
When you pick up a tool, and it has an icon of an object (i.e. a lasso), your instinct is to look at and use the tip of that object, not some little black arrow in a corner.
For example, you wouldn't want to have an arrow next to your text cursor, or next to your magic wand cursor, would you? You'd want to use the tip of the wand.
Â
I'm not sure what part of the user community suggested these little arrows be added on those tools, but I find it to be a bad design idea. And it's an annoying choice imo, beacause it doesn't make sense from an interaction design point of view, and not because it would be hard for me to get wrid of my habit of using the tip of the lasso, and to get used to the arrow instead. It's bad, because now, there are two conflicting pointers in the same tool: the icon tip and the arrow tip.
Â
[EDIT] I'm sure people will say that they prefer the new design, arguing about "design consistency" and whatnot. So this is why I ask if there's a way for me to replace the cursors in my photoshop, not everyone's.
I don't know what I pushed but suddenly my cursors have changed. My clone stamp now has a clone stamp icon instead of a circle and my spot healing tool has some tiny icon too instead of a circle.
Â
What did I do to create this problem and how do I go about resetting it to what the cursors were? I'm using CS5 but then I had the same problem with CS3 too and never figured out how to fix it there either.
1. Is there a way for masking each smart filter separately on a single smart object other than nesting one smart object into the another?
2. Is there a way for removing the previously created smart object?
I mean ... let's say I have a smart object containing four layers. Can I remove smart object from these layers?
Certain selected tool cursors are almost invisible on my workspace. The lasso, type, rectangle, line tools when selected and moved into the workspace are almost the same colour as the background so it is impossible for me to get any accuracy with these tools as I can't find where they are on the page.
Â
The other cursors, pencil, pen, eyedropper etc are coloured in black so it's fine. Is there a way of altering the other cursors so they are black too? Or finding another solution?
Â
i'm working with CS4 on a brand new Macbook Air 11 inch.
Why doesnt the smart filter mask move with the smart object?
View 14 Replies View RelatedIve had this happen before but after restarting the program it usually came back.
the circle that outlines the size of the brush has disappeared, so all i have is the little + sign.
i tried cntr+alt+shft at start to reset it, but its still the same.
The cursors colors are set to be tri-color and the are but when i open a second viewport the cursor colors in the second viewport are white.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my Paint Shop Pro from X2 to X4 recently and now I find that the precise cursors seem to be broken.
The crazy thing is that it has broken X2 as well so I'm a bit stuck. I know that it used to work because I use PSP for digitizing vector curves and have existing drawings where the vector node is not at the center of the pixel grid.
When capturing screenshots with Corel Capture X6, the captured cursor always defaults to the Windows arrow pointer in the screenshot. For example, say you were taking a screenshot while using the Pen tool in CorelDRAW. The cursor is a fountain pen tip. In the screen shot it shows as the default Windows arrow pointer. Another example, you take a screenshot in Photo-Paint while using the Paint tool and the cursor looks like the brush you are using, but the screen shot shows it as the arrow pointer.

Problem: Transform applied to Smart Object fails to transform an attached Smart Filters Mask.
Â
I mean a Transform, including Free Transform, as found in the Edit menu. A simple move by the Move Tool is OK.
Â
A workaround until this bug is squashed is to encapsulate the Smart Object + Smart Filters + Filter Mask inside another Smart Object and transform that. However, that will not be a satisfactory solution in some cases. If a filter has size parameter(s), e.g. Gaussian Blur radius, a scaling or warping/distorting transform applied after the filter will obviously differ from the filter applied after the transform.
Â
In any case, the workaround is inconvenient to subsequent editing and experimenting with filters and masks.
Can I move smart layer mask to the smart filters on the same layer as a mask?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running photoshop cs3. I created two different smart objects. Within each of those smart objects, I want to include another smart object. However, when I update the embedded smart object, only the partent SO is updated, the other SO seems to have a different child. here is the setup visually: canvas -> SO1 -> SO3canvas -> SO2 -> SO3 so when I update SO3 from within SO1, only SO1 is updated - SO2 stays the same.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhere is the option to hide the selection in Photoshop CC. I don't see it anywhere?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm working in photoshop CS2 there is allways one big issue bothering me: all the menu's that are in the way (Tools menu, Layers menu, navigator, history). Does anybody know a shortcut to hide those menus all at the same time, and a shortcut to make them reappear?
Another thing that could solve my problem is to be able to zoom in outside of the picture (into the gray area), now I'm restricted to stay zoomed into the picture (so the most left pixel will also be the most left pixel in your photoshop screen, if anybody knows how to change that..
how to hide notes? I use notes a lot when I work with someone else on the same file and I place the little postits near or exactly on top of the area I'm writing about. Is there a way to hide those like you can hide guides? I'm working on a particularly note-rich file and it's starting to look like a porcupine.

What was I thinking. I always use CMD+H to hide selections! I have been looking around in the prefs, bue can't find a way to change it back.
I am using Photoshop cs6 windows version. First of all, see this picture.Â
Right now I am trying to animate layer masks which are attached to individual layer groups, but as you can see, the deeper layer nest goes, the harder it is to animate , because I can't read names of keyable property and I can't extend the property bar ,like After Effects,to read the full name of key able property in Photoshop. Is there any way to avoid this problem? I really need to animate layer masks.
How can I hide the tool data box that reads out the location in Photoshop CS6? It appears when I move a layer or change the size.
Â
It is very distracting and totally useless for me (I'm an artist - not an engineer). I can't find a setting to remove that black box.Â
The marching ants interfere with my selection work consequently I always hide them with command H but this option does not appear available in CS6.Â
