When in full mode I can drag the image with the hand tool freely. When in normal mode I can't usually do that and the image remains "sticked". But sometimes when after reverting from full mode to normal I can drag the image as in full mode.
Is this a bug caused by my 8600 GT graphic card or it is something else? I would like to be able to drag the image in normal mode like I do in full mode.
Using the brush tool in CS3, I find I have no normal mode to choose in the options toolbar. The available blend modes start with "behind" and end with "luminosity," but there is no normal. Shouldn't I find this option here?

I have added a Layer Mask to the new layer and I'm trying to use the Brush Tool with black forground to cover part of the new layer. I'm following an online tutorial step by step, but when I try to use the Brush Tool I get "could not use color replacement tool because it only works in full color mode". The Image>Mode is set to RGB.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm confused by these two brush tips. I have CS2 and in the Edit / Preferences / Display & Cursors there is the Normal Brush Tip and the Full Size Brush Tip. The Normal shows that the cursor corresponds to about 100%of the area it draws; the Full Size shows that it is bigger than the area it draws.
Two questions:-
1. What is the use for this latter cursor?
2. Why does it say in the User Guide and the Help that the Normal "corresponds to approximately 50% of the area that the tool will affect" and the Full Size "corresponds to nearly 100% of the area that the tool will affect"?
Mighty puzzling, although it has already been acknowledged that the User Guides are poor. Is this an example or am I missing something?

Is it masked ?
Its like the other half of the text is invinsible.

I made a text layer on top of a textured background and changed the text layer mode to grain extract. I want to put a 3 pixel black border around it that is solid with a normal mode. How do I add a border to my text without it being effected by the text layers mode? The only way that I know how to border is to Alpha the layer to selection then go to edit and stroke selection.

From here, whatever window I open, ie my browser, explorer, etc, photoshop pops up in the background minus all the menu bars. This is very annoying because it means I cannot work with files on my desktop.

In CS6, full screen mode, the image keeps moving up, down or to the side if my cursor gets too close to the edge of the screen. sometimes I'm not even at the edge of the screen but in the middle of the screen, I move the cursor right, the document goes to the left. In the old days the window stayed put unless you used the handtool to move it around. Is it possible to go back to this mode?

Until now I have ignored this but I really want to start making the most of my screen space. I don't understand how people can go into full screen mode without tabs of their open documents. Whenever i press the F key twice to enter full screen mode, sometimes the taskbar and Gadget Bar (Windows Vista) dissapear as expected, and other times they do not. I am currently running a demo version of PS CS3 on Windows Vista, but had the same issue with PS CS2 on Windows XP.

The background used to be gray, and then one time i opened up Photoshop and now the background is blue. It is very annoying and affects my painting. The grey was neutral, now it is blue so my colors are going to appear off.
If you don't know what i mean: Open Photoshop, make a canvas (new image) Hit the key "F" on your keyboard 2 times so the canvas takes up the entire page but the menu bars are still up. The color around the canvas is Blue, when it has ALWAYS been gray.
In Indesign CS6 using Mountain Lion, the hand tool appears and I can't select or work with any other tool. All I can do is move the document around. After trying the space bar and other key commands I restarted and it worked for a while. Then it happened again. I work on a Macbook pro, so when I removed the mouse and worked only with the trackpad there was no change. When I quit and reopened, no change. I then deleted prefs and restarted and it worked, but it's been happening from time to time. Any other fix without restarting or deleting prefs.

The print function works fine while in organizer and sharing mode, but not from full edit. When I try to print from full edit, I get an error message with a red "X" on it that says: "Before you can perform printer related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer." I can't figure it out. The printer is in "ready" state, and works fine in the organizer mode, and in share.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi have recently upgraded my computer with a new mb, 8gb ram, clean install of vista 64 bit and cs4. after initial problems with screen lag i installed a new graphics card and all seems to be working fine. problem is using the hand tool. i was accustomed in cs3 to comparing two files side by side, let's say the same image with two different levels of sharpening. i was able to view both images at 100% and using the hand tool move each image independently. this made comparing particular areas of the images easy. in cs4 when i open two images and use the hand tool it moves both images at the same time.

way to use the hand tool (or spacebar) even if the entire image is visible, like you could do in previous versions. One might wonder why you would want to pan if you can already see the entire image. This comes up when one of your layers is bigger than the main image. If you try to Transform the layer, but the transform handles are off the edge of the screen, you need the hand tool. Otherwise you have to zoom out even further to get at the handles.
