I will soon have access to Premier Pro at a local Public TV Provider. I am considering purchasing Premier Elements for my home computer. I was wondering if I could do a rough cut using Premier Elements and then polish it using Premier Pro?

I copied ALL of my music CDs to my hard drive and to my iphone etc. They are there and I can play them. I have been unable to add my music. For example this is what happens when I am in Photoshop Elements 10 slideshow:
* ADD MEDIA
* Audio from folder
* iTunes
* iTunes Media
* Music from CDs
* every folder I try returns the message "no items match your search".

View 15 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble with Adobe Premiere Pro CC regarding which video formats it will accept in my video editing.
I have tried uploading basic .avi, .mp4, and .mov files, but they all say "unsupported format or damaged file" and I know that the files are definitely not damaged.
I can convert all video files to whatever mainly-used format but it would take a while to find the right ones.
I recently upgraded to the Creative Cloud from CS6. Whenever I load up Premiere CC, it opens the welcome window like always, which normally lists all of my recent projects. But since I've upgraded, my recent projects don't show up on the welcome screen or in the file menu under Open Recent. If I have Premiere open and open several projects during a single session, those will all show up under Open Recent in the File menu. However, as soon as I close Premiere and open it up again, I lose all of my recent projects.
View 30 Replies View RelatedAfter a rather horrendous incident with trying to do a series of videos all in one project using bins and shared media and a savefile that got *WAYYY* out of hand (20 minutes to load the file)- which I believe was tied to importing media from another .proj file, I have switched to a more modular approach with anywhere from 2-5 projects in each project and now a collection of around 15-25 projects on the go. Most of these are "work on a chapter, then change to another project while waiting for footage for another project" and several of them share pieces including multicam segments and sync'd audio.
Rather than importing from another project, I am using Control-C, switch to a different project file, then paste in. This isn't the most "Adobe Professional" style way of doing things, but considering that I lost several hours to trying to recover from the last project, even when I only needed to spend 20 minutes pumping out a rough cut, I'm not going back to that method until my next computer upgrade and until I begrudgingly switch to CC in around 1-1.5 year's time.
So the issue that I'm faced with is that I'm often using the Open Recent Project flyout and having 5 projects on that list is just not enough to be remotely useful.
In MS Office, the list is quite long and even in photoshop, I can get 10. That's enough for my Photoshop, but I switch projects using the Recent Projects list in Premiere a LOT more often. I could just use my explorer windows to jump around, but given that I have 5-6 explorer windows open per project most of which are folders crammed with footage, PSD stills and peak files, plus other non-video things I'm working on right now, that's really not the simplest way to navigate at a glance.
How can I get 10, 20 or 25 items in that flyout list instead of mucking about with 5? I run Adobe Production Premium CS6.
I've run into a problem with Premiere Pro CS6. Last week, I experienced a crash while working on a project, and ever since then I have been completely unable to open ANY of my saved projects.
Whenever I now try to open any saved project - regardless of whether it contains any footage or not - Premiere immediately freezes unrecoverably. The same thing happens with newly created projects. If the project contains video footage, the 'Media Pending' preview shows on the frozen page - if there is NO video footage in the project (which would be rare, obviously), then it just freezes without the Media Pending message.
I can, however, open a previously saved project by opening Premiere, creating a NEW project and importing an old project or sequence into it. Using this method I am able to encode one video at a time. I can not use Adobe Media Encoder to queue up video sequences for encoding - Adobe Media Encoder also crashes (freezes) whenever I attempt to start the encoding queue.
Steps attempted to resolve this issue (all unsuccessful);
Uninstalled the Adobe Master Collection CS6 completely, followed by a reinstallation. No change.Uninstalled every Adobe application on the computer, then deleted every remaining Adobe directory I could find - including those contained in Program Files, Program Files (x86) and in my user profile directory. Also emptied my Media Cache folders. I also then ran the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool and removed everything it would allow me to from CS6 and below. Followed by a reinstallation. No change.Both of the above installing back without any patches (Premiere CS6.0.0) and with patches (Premiere CS6.0.5). No change.Emptied the 'Temp' folder for my user profile. No change.
The one slightly useful thing that I have found is that if I create a new user account in Windows and open Premiere from there, everything seems to be fine - so the issue would seem to be related to my Windows user account ...
I do not want to simply eraze my current user account because it would take me ages to restore all of my preferences, applications and whatnot to their correct configuration - and there's no guarantee that the same thing wouldn't occur again (especially given that I've seem similar reports from other people, so it's not an isolated incident).
I'm running Windows 7 Pro, SP1, incidentally.

When I attempt to share a photo involving the photoshop showcase, I select a photo and then select share, the photoshop video showcase is offered and not the showcase service for photos. I have created an account at photoshop showcase.com but it will not allow me to upload as apparently it does not know I have PSE 11 and PSPE 11.

1) I created a slide show project in Photoshop elements 9 which was not completed. I saved the project but now I can not find it on my computer. I see that I've used up all my storage space (2gb). Will I find my project if I purchace more storage space?
View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery-time I save something in PSE 11 that has text or graphics, I feel like the clarity is not even remotely close to what I was seeing in PSE. The whole thing often has a blurry/pix elated look to it. I am sure that any graphics are large files for clarity and in PSE 11 they appear very clear and sharp, I am usually saving in .png The resolution is 300.
What can I do to make sure that they save crystal clear and sharp so that once they are uploaded (to somewhere like Facebook for a timeline cover) that they don't loose that sharpness to text and graphics that I see in PSE? What is the best format to save in? I don't have this issue with pictures I am editing, it seems to just be stuff I am making.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to have two machines, both running Photoshop Elements 11, share the same database file?The scenario I'm imagining is one where the images will be stored on a $fileserver and thereby accessible by either of my image-editing machines:
1. Dell Desktop PC (Win 7 Pro)
2. Apple MacBook Pro Laptop (OS X 10.7.5)
I want to be able to edit images from either machine, but I don't want to create two databases related to the images. I need both machines to use the same database of tags, etc. (Not simultaneously, obviously.)The file server will be one of the following (I haven't determined which one yet):
1. a second drive on the desktop PC
2. a third machine (FreeBSD, FreeNAS, Mac Mini, or a Linux box)
3. a NAS device (perhaps from Synology)
So, is this possible with Photoshop Elements? Does this bump me into some sort of server license scenario with Adobe? Is there a better way to do this at the home/consumer level, even if it means abandoning Elements for another product (or two products, working in conjunction) from Adobe? (I should mention that although it's a home scenario, we're talking about half a terabyte of images and growing.)
