I just purchased adobe photoshop elements 11 and edited my first photo and now i am finished with it. How do i get that photo to re save as a new JPEG file? If i go to mmyu media organizer it says that it is currnetly being edited, but im done and dont know how to get the picture unlocked.

I've been working with white padlocked docs all day and they have been ok. Now when I reopen them they are locked (black padlocks) and are unlockable (the icons are greyed out).
I'm using PSE10 on a Win7 (64bit) OS. When I delete a picture (from catalogue and harddrive) the PSE-Organizer tends to jump down several pictures (Haven't been able to determine a fixed number), so I have to go up again and browse through the same pics a couple of times.

when layers are not grouped in a parent, and you are working on 1 layer with an item you want unlocked, just that/those items unlock.
However when working with grouped layers, and you are on 1 unlocked layer and select the same unlock command, ALL layers become unlocked!
To me this seems incredibly stupid..is this a known bug or a "feature?"
How can i set the default crop ratio to always be unlocked for every image that i try to edit? Its so annoying to always have to hit the A key to unlock it. If i want it locked then i'll lock it back. Why should i be told what i want?

1- Somehow, in my current drawing, everything is layer-locked. There are no Xrefs in this very basic drawing. All layers are unlocked. Yet, any attempt to select any entities results in "x objects were on a locked layer". Again, all layers are unlocked. No Xrefs. No blocks. Just simple lines. All entities appear faded. This happened after viewing a layout in both paper and model spaces. Reviewing the text window shows no strange accidental commands.
2- There is a default set of viewport scales in the status bar at the bottom right. Default scales are all metric. I would like both metric and imperial. I see you can edit which exact scales are in a metric list, and which are in an imperial list. But how do you set what is displayed/available in the status bar button?
Recently I used PS 11 on 250 pictures without problems. Now I can't save a picture to a file. Also I cannot rename a file or picture as it just pings at me.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAttempting to add text to pic. Tonight, however, the size of font that comes in is super-small -- so small that I need to bump it up to 72 (but even at that it is too small on the pic. Also: I notice that the text font now shows in pixels rather than inches.
All I want is to be able to add a simple phrase or two, but Text Tool is showing my words as super-small even at the 72 pix.
Would perhaps my resetting preferences yesterday have anything to do w/this? Should I be adding text to pics in INCHES rather than PIXELS?
Also -- my pic is at resolution of 600 and doc size is 20 x 20.
When I print a 4x6 picture using photoshop elements 10 there appears a very thin line approximately every 1/2 inch. When I print the same picture using Iphoto the print is perfect. Customer support in India has been unable to solve this problem for over eight days.
