I clicked on File > Get Photos > From Files & Folders. On the bottom right side of the screen there was an option that said, "Get Photos from Sub folders" only it was grayed out. What do I need to do to select this option?

i have over 2000 pictures in iphoto. I want to upload them into elements but in one big file and then i can sort them out in elements But elements uploads them according to dates so i am getting hundreds of subfolders. How can i change the way images are imported, so that they end up in one big folder?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to import a set photos into Lightroom as say "New York 2012" as the folder name. In that folder I would like to then have the pictures in sub folders by the relevant dates (i.e. December 1, December 2, etc...). However, it seems like everytime I try to do an import this way, I would Get my "New York 2012" folder but then a sub folder of 2012 first, and only then the subfolders with the December 1, Decemeber 2 etc pictures. Is there anyway to eliminate that "2012" subfolder that is created. I mean I already know is 2012 because the title of the main folder is New York 2012...I just want the subfolders to be the dates for the pics themselevs right away rather than first having 2012 folder to click on. Is there anyway to do this with the import feature?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my C drive to an SSD and upgraded my D drive to a larger hard drive. Also upgraded Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Ultimate. When I open Lightroom 4 (or 3.6 for that matter) all the photos are represented by raised grey rectanges. The file name is correct and the histograms comes up properly. I tried synchronizing folders that did not work. I know the photos are there on the hard drive. Not sure if I have messed up previews somehow. To add to that I have a rather complecated Lightroom folder as far catalog and previews are concerned. Not sure why, but catalog is always a 2-2 version although there is a 2 version folder there as well. To further make it interesting I tried to rename my catalog and previews to (my catalog 4, etc) and only succeeded in creating two more folders but lightroom was still opening in the old 2.2 catalog.
Mostly I want my images to show, but how to consolidate and clean up catalogs and previews as well. Note, Lightroom worked fine before hard drive replacement even with the catalog mess.
I uploaded some RAW + Jpeg files and converted to them DNG into a folderin My Pictures called '*****_originals'.I've edited some of them in LR and others in PS. From PS, I created a new folder I named '****Edited' and 'Saved As' Jpeg's into this folder! From Lightroom, I exported the ones I'd edited, as Jpegs to the same folder as above.But, when I looked in the folder in Lightrooms Library, only the photo's exported from LR were there....OK, that's fine, as I knew I'd have to 're-import' the PS files back into the LR Catalog BUT, here's the problem....
When I go to import, those photo's are already there but greyed out, so I can import!But when I go back to the Library module again, they're not there? I can see them in finder and in Bridge... is this a Bug?
I had this problem in LR3 so I decided to upgrade to LR4 thinking it will be better but same result. I can't import at all. Import Photos and Videos Button in the dropdown is grayed out. Import button is also grayed out! I can't do anything!
By the way, I'm using Mountain Lion.
I can't save photos for web anymore, there is some problem with plug-in. Could't find the plug-in entry point. What can I do?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from PSE 6.0 to PSE 12. Apparently, my tags DID move, since I can sort photos in PSE 12 by tag. However, if I right click on a photo which I know has tags (because it was in a sort by tag), the Remove Keyword Tag option is grayed out. I find no way to see which tags are attached to a given photo. On the other hand, if I right click some pictures, the Remove Keyword Tag is not grayed out, and I can see at least one tag that is attached to the file. (I'm using Windows Vista.)

I have the external editor set for TIFF, 16-bit.
After editing a jpg picture, sometimes when I go to file, save as, it will be greyed out. I then have to close the program and start over.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I plug my camera in, its a Panny TZ25 in this instance, Aperture opens on my Mac and I can see the photos on the camera, Lightroom does the same if I open it but my trial version of Elements 12 doesn't see the camera, the import option is greyed, but if I select "open" I can open the remote disc icon and view the folders on my camera. I assume there is a problem with a twain plugin of some kind ? I would have thought 12 would have had the camera in its list by default. It did in LR as I mentioned.

I'd like to 'Save for web' them , keep the same folder structure and also the same names for the images.
I made an action that does Save for web. According to Adobe the settings should be
File > Automate > Batch>
Inculde all subfolders checked
Save and Close
Override Action checked
and I tried many other settings,
but the images tend to be saved in the destination folder of the image that I created the action with, instead of their original folder.
"Add people" feature has never worked in Elements 11. How do I fix this? It recognizes faces in individual photos, but not in groups of photos.
