AutoCad :: Linking Constraint Parameters To Action Parameters?
Sep 21, 2011Im wondering if its possible to link either a constraint dimension to an action parameter or vice versa. Or using a linear parameter's value in an user parameter formula.
Its a 2D cylinder, for winding purposes we just have a rectangle, with a distance from the Y axis for radial.
Parametric dimensions: B=thickness, C=Lenght, R=radius
User parameter: A=Diameter (R*2), Mass in kg ((((pi*(c*b))*(A+B))*1.25)/1000)/1000
For the BOM, i need A, B, C & mass
For drawing references for peoples on the floor, to distinquish a cylinder from a stick, we put lines at the top and bottom of the cylinder, 1mm distance inbetween them.
I figured that making a linear parameter + stretch on the thickness to replace the B parametric dimension, allowed me to make an array of that line, with increments of 1mm as i stretch the cylinder. The thing is that the mass formula cant take the value of action parameters....
Other alternative is to keep the B parametric dimension, and add a linear parameter as above for the array. But then i have 2 places to adjust, and from a test i made, if i change the R dimension, the linear one does not follow. Its very frustrating.
What i was hoping autocad would be able to do is distance1 for array to be same as B dimension, but it does not allow me to do that, unless im missing something.

Jan 9, 2012i have an object z rotation affecting another objects x position, but the problem is its affecting the x position but going the opposite way, is there a way to edit that so i can have it go the opposite way?

Jun 3, 2013I have a new project coming up where I need to write some simple programs to access the dynamic action parameters in some existing dynamic blocks.I have viewed what I could find on AU, but I still ave not found anything relating in-depth to dynamic blocks.
Any good Tutorials, Articles, or White Papers, on working with dynamic blocks with autolisp/ vlisp? The main function is to access a parameter and change it by entering a numeric value, updating the block. say from a linear/polar stretch, or a linear/ polar move.

I have a few actions to speed things up, but now i need to use the same actions but with different directory structures. Is there an easy way to just change the path used in an action?
I've tried using a hex editor to do the job but, photoshop fails to load the updated action.

Aug 1, 2013I am using one assembly for this project and of course the existing surface does not always work well with one assembly so I have been using the corridor section editor to adjust each station individually. Attached is a picture of my first station, I started with a 3:1 fore slope (left side) and have changed it to a 2:1 slope. However, my ditch line elevation did not adjust and my parameter editor will not let me adjust the beginning elevation for the ditch line. I am curious as to what the simple solution is for this so my ditchline and back slope or slope to surface will be portrayed correctly.

Dec 7, 2011I have no problem adding a shared parameter, but if I assign it the wrong type and it appears impossible to change it without adding a new parameter under a different name. I then deleted the old one, but Revit doesn't like that. They appear difficult to purge or delete without a hiccup relating to the original label the parameter was assigned to.
Example: I made a parameter for my clients occupied area (Footprint) and used the integer type by mistake. Apparently integers are only supposed to go up to 999. It refused to recognize the "Digital Grouping" so I had to convert over to the Area type.
If I try to change the type the field is grayed out.

Jun 10, 2008I have 30 dirs, each of them with 4 thumbs in it. I want to make one big thumb of every 4 smaller ones, by resizing and fitting them together into square. Like

and then save that image.
Would you give me any direction how to do that? I'm with CS3. I did explore the auto and script options in the File menu, but still unable to get idea how to do that, if possible at all

Photoshop :: No Action In My Action
Jul 11, 2007i am trying to build an action where the end product is a channel listing that has all the channel (R-G-B-L-C-Y-M-K (forget LAB a-b)). this will allow me to look at all the channels for contrast and subsequent extraction. i'm actually able to do this as i RECORD the action. but when i RUN the action, nothing happens.
in recording the action, i create a DUPLICATE IMAGE, then convert the new image to LAB. i then drag the "L" channel to the original image. it goes into the original image as an alpha channel which i rename to "Lightness." i then convert the duplicate image to CMYK and then one-by-one DRAG the individual channels to the original image. at the end of this process, i have all eight channels visible in the channels palette. this is what i want.
but then, when i RUN the action on a new image, the action fails to RECORD the "drag step and drop" step. the "L," "C," etc. channels are not dragged during the running of the action.
why does the "drag" step not record in the action
Photoshop :: CS6 Action (Save As A Jpg) Despite Other Format Save As In Action?
May 8, 2013 needs to overlay a grid over a photo and then save it as another file. In CS5.5 or earlier, no problem, but in CS6 it is not working for either of us.
The batch action (run from either Photoshop or Bridge) stops and prompts at the Save command every time no matter what format we save it in (psd, png, jpg, save for web, etc.).
I have been through the Web and the Adobe Forums and cannot find a work around for this. He cannot just hit enter everytime the popup window comes up because he has over 2700 photos to put this grid on.
Photoshop :: Scanner Parameters
Apr 14, 2012I have tons of analog pictures and I would like to get them into computer and of course process in Photoshop. I have very bad experience with scanners about ten years ago, mainly since it was not able to get colors right, but it had other flaws too.
I have so many pictures it is not realistic to go into a shop, I want to do it by myself, if possible. So the question is, what resolution and color quality has the scanner to have in order to get the picture ( not slide ) close to the original ?

Aug 23, 2013Photoshop CS5: can I retroactively determine adjustment parameters? E.g, the values used when I adjusted brightness/contrast? I'm running Adobe CS5 on an iMac 24" (OSX 10.6.8).
Ive been working on picture in Photoshop. The first step was an adjustment of brightness/contrast. I can see the several steps I've made in Photoshop's 'history' window, but, although I can do or undo the various levels, I can't determine the values I used at each stage, as there appears to be no info on those values in the history window.
I've been making notes of the subsequent transformations/adjustments, but I didn't remember to do that on the first step. Can I retrieve this info somehow, via history, or some other way?

May 21, 2013I know that it's possible to adjust the width and contrast settings on the magnetic lasso tool, as you go, using bracket hotkeys and period/comma hotkeys, respectively. However, when I try to do this, it doesn't work! The hotkeys work just fine when I am not actually using the magnetic lasso tool, why I can't adjust them while I'm working with the tool?

Dec 3, 2012I plan to shoot timelapse with two supposedly identical camera setups and stack images from the two cameras. Unfortunately the two lenses turn out not to be quite identical, so I need to correct/map images from one camera to match the field of view of the other.
A test showed that Photoshop's auto-align procedure can do the mapping sufficiently accurate. So now what I want to do is to have Photoshop calculate the mapping parameters once, then apply that projection identically to a batch of images. What I really hope to avoid is for Photoshop to recalculate the mapping separately for every single frame, both because it is a huge waste of time but also because the exact same mapping really should be applied to all images. Is there a way to do this, CS6?

But before i get to the actual H/S or B/C action, a "New Layer" dialogue box pops up first. I never name the new layer so this is a wasted dialogue. is there a way to skip this step and pause only in the H/S or B/C step itself? I am trying to streamline my workflow by eliminating useless steps.

Jul 23, 2013I have a photoshop file with several layers...about 100. I want to put each layers into it's own group. The name of the group must be the same as the name of the layer.
I tried creating an action to do this but it did not work right. It only works for one layer selected individually. If I select multiple layers, then it forms nested groups. How do I create this action? I am using adobe photoshop cs6 ( I think) , windows 7.

Dec 19, 2012With CS6 I can use FileImport to initiate a scan but when I create an action and try to run it, I get an error message 'The command "Import" is not currently available'. The action works fine with CS5.5.
I am using Silverfast and the old version works with CS5 & 6 while the new version of Silverfast works with neither. Looks like the problem lies with Silverfast.

Sep 6, 2013I need to choose a color from the center of the image. Presently when I use the eyedropper, it selects a color, but when running the action on another file, it just show me the same color as when I recorded my action.
I would like it to select whatever color is situated at 50% width / 50% length of the layer. My preferences are set to percents, rulers ditto.
