After the most recent update - when I opened Photoshop CS6 again, my workspace was all messed up . The worst of all: the curves panel has disappeared, and does not appear in the window menu.
What happened? There isn't even an option to get the curves panel back.
In PSE 11 the "People" keytag category has disappeared from the right keytag panel. How do I restore it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI spent quite a bit of time a while back creating a custom tab panel, which displayed a collection of Lisp macros and other commands. It was set up to roll up out of sight when not needed, to give me back on-screen real estate. It has now vanished for no apparent reason. I am the only person using this machine, so I don't think it's related to any issue with changing profiles.
When I take a look inside the CUI interface I see that this tab and panel are configured with a "yes", indicating that they should be shown as part of my workspace. I've unlocked the on-screen CUI display before going to the CUI dialogue. I've also manually turned off the display of this tab and panel, then turned them on and hit "apply", before exiting the dialogue, all of this to no avail.
The detail module has disappeard from my tool panel in lightroom 5. How do I get it back?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am currently working with a trial version of Lightroom 4.2 and i have been doing some silly things. The end result is that Catalog has disappeared from the left hand panel of the library tab ie i only see Folders, Collections and Publish Services..
I have tried to use File/New Catalog, Open Catalog and Open Recent but, in each case, I get an error box appearing: " ....catalog address refers to a location that is not available" it does not close and re-open LR
Now for the confession as to how this situation arose. I had been using LR quite happily using the catalogue which was automatically created when i started. Then I decided to try creating a new catalogue, in fact I ended up creating a few new catalogues. I decided to remove all the catalogues and start again with one catalogue which I would set up (I was not worried about losing the updates to the photos i had been playing around with) But, as i could find nothing within LR about deleting catalogues, I decided to remove them via Windows Explorer. When i went back into LR, Catalog was still showing in the left hand panel and, when i looked in Explorer, it was in the original folder My Pictures/Lightroom which I thought i had deleted along with all the other catalogues. Presumably it had been re-created automatically as in my original use of LR
I then compounded my mistakes by clicking on the + to the right of Catalog and, for interest, choosing whatever was at the top of the resultant list. It was at this point that Catalog disappeared never to be seen again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am preparing a batch of images for test submission, for a stock photo library.Recently a person working for one of the visual effects studios in London happened to tell me that these strict agencies use some set of layers that can separate tonality and color values to check for banding, dirtiness, noise and all those technical flaws that the human eye can't notice on a monitor.He said they perhaps have an action for it so that they can review faster.
He said that it is known as 'Craze Curves' or 'Visibility Curves' technique.He further added that all the studios use it before giving the final files to clients so that there is no issue in printing afterwards.It is sort of a quality control check and has been used by digital and advertising agencies all over the world.
But now his email seems to have changed and I can't get in touch with him to know how to use the technique.
Is there a reason why I can not open the actions panel from the timeline when I have the code panel docked and open in application frame? If I close the code panel I can view the actions panel. Why can't I have both open?

When I go to Help, Updates, it finds two updates I need - Flash Lite 3 Update for Device Central and ExtendScript Toolkit 2.0.2 (I already have Device Central and Toolkit 2.0.) When I try to install the two updates, I get the message saying they cannot be installed and that I need to uninstall my software and reinstall it and then try the updates again. Do I really need to uninstall CS3 and reinstall it?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Photoshop CC and the CC app recently updated both my own CS6 and CC. I find that I now cannot resize images using the "image size" dialog. Any changes I try to make in dimension or resolution are ignored.
Before, I simply entered the resolution and size I wanted for the image. Now I cannot .I have tried suggestion here: e.g., deleting pixels when cropping, etc.
I previously had a few CS5 apps installed. They were volume license versions of some sort available through the school I was working at. (I don't know the details of the installation — the school network guys did it for me.) In these apps, the Update command was also unavailable ... I sort of assumed it was something odd with the install (maybe the update manager was not included) so I downloaded and installed updates manually from Adobe.com.
I have since left the school and dumped the apps. I just picked up a personal copy of Photoshop CS6. I find that the "Updates" command is still unavailable, but this is a regular install so I am crying foul.
I found this page about disabling the update manager for CS5 and CS6. I checked and sure enough I had a copy of AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat with updates suppressed, as mentioned in the article. Must be left over from my previous CS5 install, as I sure have never touched that file myself. However, upon removing it, my "Updates" command is still not available.
Is there some other way that updates can be disabled that I have not found yet? Is there a way to launch the update manager outside of the application?
Can't believe it makes one iota of difference but am using WIN7.Is there any reason not to delete old folders in Lightroom and PS when I upgrade or install later versions.
Example: I have 5 folders of updates (plus 4.2) in my Adobe folder for Lightroom starting with 3.4 up thru 4.1.Can I just delete everything except 4.2? I have PS CS6. Can I delete the CS5 folder?
Since I installed Photoshop CS6 on my Mac OS 10.8, I haven't been able to successfully install an update. Every time I get the error U44M1P6, which tells me to try installing the update manually. Which I do, and I get the same result.
I have been asked if I've changed anything in Photoshop's folder or something similar, and I haven't done anything to it besides installing one extension using Extension Manager, and keeping Photoshop's icon on my dock.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOn Oct 20 I updated Photoshop CC, and during the update it asked me if it could install an updater to monitor my CC apps. I allowed this to happen. Two hours later, Win 8 tried to update and failed for the first time, giving me a message that Windows could not configure features. I figured it was the newly installed monitor from Adobe that caused the problem so I found the file and disabled it. The file's name is AAM Updater 1.0. A couple of hours later, Windows updated itself with a huge update. I have left the Updater disabled to avoid having the problem again.
Is AAM Updater a necessity for keeping Photoshop updated or active? Do I have to have it running in the background ALL the time? If so, and if it prevents Windows from updating, how can I work around the problem?
I'm creating a text portrait in Photoshop CS5 Extended 10.0.4 x86 with all updates installed, running Mac OS X 10.6.8. I'd like to be able to draw a path and use the text tool to add text on the path. However, there are so many text-on-a-path layers close to each other in this file that Photoshop tries to outsmart me. Instead of allowing me to enter text along a newly-created path, it jumps to another nearby text layer at random and starts editing that layer.
I can only make the type on a path tool work if I drag the newly created path away from all the other text areas, enter the text, and drag it back. But as the portrait increases in complexity it's almost impossible to find problem-free areas to drag these paths to, and it's very time-consuming.
I just tried to install updates for ACR 5.3 and PSCS 11.0.1.They downloaded ok, but all the updates failed to install. I tried this from Bridge and also from PS, same results.I'm on XP Pro, Quad Core, 250G C-drive, 500G storage and scratch drive, 4GB memory on board.Is there a problem with Adobe or my computer?
