Jul 30, 2007The 'psychedelic' colored lines in the middle. I would like to continue them fluidly, but I don't know how I thought maybe brushing on a pattern made from what's there, but I try it, it doesnt work.
Is there anyway to make a line or something, stroke it 4 or 5 (or however wide the line is) pixels wide, and then fill it with the pattern?

Is there a tutorial on how to do that or is that actually a font that you can use? Also if it is a tutorial and you put the black outline on it does anyone know what font it is that these guys used?

Aug 4, 2007I've tried the outline effect similar to the one around "Dave Matthews Band" in the picture linked but I come up short. At first I thought it was a type of outer glow but have come to the conclusion that is not. I've tried Layer Style:> Stroke and come closer but still no cigar.

Oct 21, 2006Whenever I add text to an image, it is set to Times New Roman Automatically and it works fine.
When i try to change the font, or bolden it, add italics or underline my photoshop crashes.
I have tried reinstalling many times, and have also tried using ctrl + alt + shift while relaunching.

May 30, 2008I want to create a yellow font that has a transparent stroke inside of it. Also I want to add another white stroke behind the text on the outside. I have done this by adding a black stroke inside the text and then coping the layer and adding a white stroke to the outside and putting this layer behind the first. I then select the black stroke with the magic selection tool and delete it. This gives me the effect that I want, however when I delete the black stroke the font is not smooth like it once was.

Oct 8, 2005I have a gray scale tiff image that will be printed on a corrugated fibreboard carton. I need to show what this image will look like at 45 DPI when viewed on a screen and printed out in a PDF file. How would I show the actual 45 DPI in the image itself? I Have seen images before that are in 45 or other DPI but for the life of me can't figure out how to do it. I have Photoshop 4 here at home on my laptop and am about ready to pull my hair out trying to figure this out. I know if I had a LaserWriter, I would just assign a DPI to the image when it goes to the printer and it would print out at 45 DPI. This effect is what I need to be seen on the screen.

I need to create stardust for a few of my images. I want it to look like a sparkle of showering stars. I have no idea how to do this.
I found an online tutorial about making a new layer in white and using the airbrush/smudge tool...but it didnt give me the effect I want, it looked like a white trail of stars. I want the stardust to be slightly transparent, almost ghostly, so you can see the background image.

At 4:35 into it, the author begins creating the shiny parts of the diamonds by drawing a path, copying it and then rotating the copy ninety degrees.
I'm having trouble just creating that first path the way it's done in the tutorial. First, it says to choose a brush of 17, make sure it's white, then switch to the pen tool and draw a straight white line. However, mine doesn't look like that, how it splays outs. I just get a straight white line. Then, when I try to tranform the copy by rotating it 90 degrees I get an error message saying "Could not rotate because the initial bounding rectangle is empty."

Oct 23, 2008I am trying to create this shape, but have it so it is scalable for a logo image. I have tried making various ellipses and putting them on top of each other, then skewing them and going back to trim out the "tails" of the rings. It never seems to come out clean, and the top edges of the rings always seem square rather than rounded.
Does anyone know of a better approach to this. I apologize if there is already a tutorial or thread on this, I searched, but didnt find anything on my own. I would be using it for both print and web.

Jul 29, 2008For a promotional campaign I'm working on, I'd like to take a picture and "break it up" into puzzle pieces, then move those pieces around to mimic the look of them floating into place as the image is completed.
I have a great handle on the "move them around" and "float into place" parts, but I'm having no luck with the puzzle piece end of this, that I did previously using blocks. It's the right effect, but I really want that jigsaw puzzle look to this next one.

Photoshop :: Font Size Inconsistent When Creating Text Layer In Batch Job?
May 6, 2013Using photoshop CS6 on Mac, I am seeing a problem with one of my batch processing sript who's only task is to apply an embossed water mark to images which I have resized such that the longest side is always 500px. (short side varies depending on how I have cropped).
In most cases, the piece of text I am adding to the image appears fine. But then for no apparent reason, it will suddenly apply the text (which I have set to 24pt) and it is way to big. To address the issue, I have to reduce the font size (via the actions pallate) down as far as 8 pt. Then it starts to appear more or less correctly (for a while) until maybe a few weeks later when I open up photoshop to run the job again and suddenly 8 pt font is WAY too small and I have to bump it up to 24 pt again.
