I rarely (never) use the default color or stroke size of my blending options so I always have to go through the process of changing those with every layer. There's got to be a better way. I would like to have my blending options default to what I use most so I could simply click stroke and move on.
How do you change/save the default blending options?
I see that the new default blending mode when you create a Group From Layers is Pass Through. I will never use this configuration, and would prefer to set my default to Normal.

I downloaded the program to my new computer and all seemed to be okay with the install, but I can't change the unit default from millimeters to inches. In fact I can't change the units to anything; it keeps reverting back to millimeters. Then I tried changing the font default and it changed it to millimeters no matter which unit I chose. I don't know if any of the other options can be changed. I generally change them as I need them. Should I uninstall it and try again? I lost my CD copy to theft and have to use the online download.

I need to open a PDF file that has multiple pages. On "FileOpen" it comes up with Import PDF. There are 21 pages. I know how to highlight all the pages so they all load at once. Do to the volume of work this is impractical. Control+A will not work for this.
1. Is there a way to have "Open" select all, no matter on the number, pages into Photoshop 13.122. On "Save As" it defaults to ".psd". I want it to default to ".jpg". I'm doing several hundred plus.3. Also do not want it to ask me if “OK”, just do the save.
All I want to do is bring in the "PDF's" and brake the multiple files to a singe page ".jpg" or "PNG" file and rename the file just before the save.
When applying blending options like lets say a drop shadow, if i apply it to a layer and modify lets say the direction of the shadow it applies it to every layer with a drop shadow...same with bevels. Is there any way to prevent this?

My problem is that I have the template for the object I'm designing set up, and I'm trying to set up different textures and effects to different faces. Now, I try to duplicate the different faces on different layers and apply the blending options individually, and that's fine, but the effects are destroyed when I try to merge or flatten the image.

I produce allot of images by first saving the original scan or photo as a .psd, manipulating the image, then saving as .jpg or .png for display purposes so having to delete the "copy" from my file names during a long work session gets very annoying.
I have already searched through the Preferences, checked registry file associations, studied the Preferences in Adobe Bridge + the only way I can see to fix this at the moment involves using a disassembler.
I have tried the control/alt trick and it never stays- still defaults to a .gif setting. I want the default setting to be .jpg.

Specifically the curves to my bevel & emboss and my contour....after playing the action, it will apply the DEFAULT bevel and won't remember any of my gloss contour settings.
I'm trying to make these actions universal, however when I select a layer to modify, it records the name of the layer I click on...so if i use the recording later on a different file and it doesn't have that same layer name, then the action won't work...
I have been doing some graphic design in Photoshop CS6 Extended and since Friday it won't let me use the Adjustments that contain all the blending options. Keeps coming up with the message Program Error. I have updated EVERYTHING and run through my Mac with Apple support so it has to be something to do with Photoshop.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn CSS 3, I'm accustomed to being able to set multiple inset box-shadow values so that I can set four (or even more) inner shadows to a rectangular shape. In Photoshop, I can only set one inner shadow. I'm already using stroke for the border, and inner glow doesn't provide me the granular control I want for setting a different inner shadow color on each of the four sides of a rectangle.
In other words, imagine a rectanglular shape with a 1px border and four 1px inner borders, each of different colors.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn PS CS4In my layers palette, I used to be able to have an effect (ex. drop shadow) on a layer & drag that effect onto another layer so the layers would have the exact same effect.In CS4 when I drag an effect, I lose that effect from that layer & it is put on the layer I dragged it to only. It will not let me copy it anymore.Is there some key I should be holding down now?I am wondering what else I will be running into with CS4. Maybe that wizard will pop out & yell at me.

This problem started today when i tryed to throw a drop shadow on a layer. in RGB mode. "Program Error," appeared and would not let me access any Blending options. Although, in cmyk mode it works perfectly fine.

I am working on a project in which I am trying to a achieve a superhero movie post type effect for tha background. I have a picture of building and a 100% opacity layer entirely painted the colour c5322c. The trouble is when I apply blending options, the red colour on the picture is no longer c5332c. It is absolutely necessary that I have the colour c5322c. Is there any way I can end up with the colour c5322c after using the blending options multiply, linear burn, overlay and vivid light? In other words, what colour do I have to start with on my other layer to achieve a product that has the colour c5322c? If the final result doesn't depend on the background picture (aka the building pictures), is there some sort of formula I can use or play around with the colours and blending options?
