Is it true that one can not email "zipped" fonts? I am having a great deal of trouble loading these fonts into a library to use for InDesign. The sender has zipped the fonts.
View 5 RepliesI created a layout for a gravestone in Corel. I sent it to someone who also uses corel draw x4 and corel is changing the font in my drawing. I used fonts Ariel and Palatino Linotype. I don't know if the Palatino is a defaulted font in corel or I downloaded online. I have been doing this kind of work for awhile so I can't remember. I ended up telling her the font and font size for the text and she created it. Then she emailed it back to me for review as I was looking at the email of her printscreens the lines of text had more space between each text line and the dates had more space between them.
She even went so far as to do printscreens of them to review and they don't seem correct. I don't know if this info is useful but I printed from corel and they are priting correctly (line spacing correct, text good). why is corel wanting to change the font. Almost forgot the font corel was changing to was HP PSG which is a font I have in my list of fonts in corel. And it isn't just tjhis file. I created a one line text with a different font and sure enough she told me corel wanted to change the font again. I don't know if it was changing it to HP PSG. I wonder what would it change it to if I remove HP PSG. How do you remove a font from the list??
I need to export my IDW drawings to DXF.
As long there are lot of files I wish the Task Scheduler will do that job.
It actually does but only with "File" option. I mean I cannot take a whole Folder
since there is no DXF option and should click each file and set the DXF there.
The second big problem it returns zipped DXF files, I cannot get rid of that.
If I zip tiffs using Image Processor or Image Processor Pro, the file gets zipped but not the layers. That means the zipped tiffs are much bigger than the psds. Zipping the layers manually is very tedious, but gets the size down to about the same or slightly less than a psd. It seems to me that selecting zip for compression should zip everything by default. It doesn't seem to.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have received a measured survey drawing from a survey that I wish to print out on A3.
The drawing and the title block are both in Model Space. When I measure the structural opening of a door, I found that the dimensions are in meters. On the title block, the denoted scale is 1:100.
I am simply trying to replicate this in paper space in order to print out this plan on A3 paper at 1:100. By the time I have worked through Page Set up Manager and chosen the scale of 1:100, the floor plan inside its border looks like a postage stamp.
I have tried Format > Units and changing the drawing units from unitless to meters but this doesn't change anything. I have also tried scaling the model space drawing x1000 but this makes the drawing too big in paper space at 1:100.
I've tried saving to web and exporting my file out of Illus CS6 as a jpeg to be emailed.
I then attached the file to mail and send it. But then cannot download the file! I even send it as windows friendly. I'm not sure what else to do or why the jpeg files are embedding in the email instead of as an attachment.
This has been a problem ever since LR3 and on previous versions of the MacOS. I hoped that it would be fixed in LR5, but not yet. When I select multiple images for email in LR5 on a Mac running Mavericks, the preview shows the images in the correct order, but in the email message itself, the order is reversed so that the last image is first and the first image is last. Nothing works. If you select the images in a different order, the result is the same backwards order. Lightroom – How Do You Change the Order of Images, Before Renaming?
The only workaround is to create a separate export for each image or to export a folder of images and manually add them to a single email.
In addition, it would be useful if there were a space between images in the email so that the images don't all run together in one long strip. There should be a way to have this happen by setting up a style or template so that it does not have to be done manually.
I am using PSP Pro x6. I edit the photo and then send using the link in the program. MS Outllok pops up just fine and reflects that the ".jpg" file is attached. When the recipient gets the email (on their iPad) the file has turned into a ".dat" file. It is definitely a .jpg when I send it out.

Now I have a whole raft of fonts that I don't want, & don't need, Arabic, Korean, Hebrew and who knows what else. I can't delete them, "Protected system files" the warning says. And there are others, like ADMUI2LG Regular, are those needed for functionality? No Koreans or Arabs are ever going to use this machine, unless it's stolen perhaps, and I'm not being racist, I just want to cut the cr*p. If I use File Assassin to delete them will CS 6 stop working? Or will Big Brother System just recreate them?

It keeps telling me that it's the wrong type of file. I've imported it into word but, I can't seem to get it into photoshop. download another file to open the zip file because that didn't work.

If I flatten and save my pages as Tiff files will it be the same as outlining fonts in Illustrator? In other words I won't have to include fonts. I am then going to drop the pages in InDesign in correctly paginated spreads to staple in the middle.
View 5 Replies View RelatedUsing CC for a few weeks and I am not yet convinced of its quality over my faithful CS5. I have an issue with files not opening, they may once when I start Illustrator, but then they do not again. Illustrator doesn't freeze, it allows me to carry on with the file I am working on but I can not open any legacy file?. I have tried opening by double click, by file>open, I have opened a legacy file back in CS5 copied the graphics and attempted to paste them into my CC document and nothing, the only way I can get around this is to shut the program and or machine down and start again?
Also the same with fonts, if I have a file open, and open fonts afterwards, Illustrator has a mind of its own whether it wants to show the fonts or not. Some days its happy to, others it has a bad day and will not show them in the list at all no matter how many times I reload them, only a shut down fixes this?
Is there a preference I am missing to allow legacy files?
I want to see "resent" fonts when choosing, be able to type letter to get down the list quickly, group similar fonts, etc. Maybe have a magnifying glass attached to cursor to see fonts better.... Why have this not been done?

Though better, the Font is still way smaller than I would like. Maybe it's just tougher for seniors? Can they not make the font adjustable? I was told there is no way to increase the size of the font?

When I open up existing Corel files the fonts are missing. The fonts are there in other applications, just not in t Corel. We have other machines with Windows 7 and X3 and they work fine.
I currently have Graphics Suite 12. As you know there are 3 CD discs full of fonts and CDR files . . . . how do I view them . . . how do I search them??In the "good ol' daze" Coral gave us a thing called a BOOK that showed all the fonts and CDR images on the disc, but alas . . . no more books . . . all those hundreds CDR files would be very useful . . . if I knew what they were (same with all the fonts).
View 14 Replies View RelatedIt used to be that I very rarely used fonts within CS5 but recently I have. I realized that all of the fonts supposedly included with CS5 are not available via my drop down menu.
I then found these fonts in Windows/fonts so I copied all of those fonts into Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts. These unavailble fonts are now listed in that folder but are still not available via the dropdown menu in PS CS5.
I've recently read that the fonts don't really even NEED to be in the Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts folder and that PS should actually make all of the fonts in Windows/Fonts available via the dropdown menu. Yes, I have restarted PS after copying the files and also tried rebooting my PC after copying the files. The fonts are still not available via the drop down text menu within PS even though all of them are now in both locations.
I have put some new fonts into C:/windows/fonts and they have come up in other programs e.g. Microsoft office but they are not showing up in photoshop.

We have a certain customer that sends us Corel Draw files with bar codes in them and sometimes the bar codes appear as fonts when I open the files, but sometimes other files come across as bar codes. What causes the bar codes to come across as fonts on some files? Is it something the customer is doing that makes the bar codes come across as fonts?

View 10 Replies View Relatednever knew there has a font folder in the user profile for Gimp until I wiped my user profile and moved all patterns, gradients, brushes, etc I have been putting in the program folder to the user profile folder because I read on here that it is better to keep all that stuff in the user profile folder of Gimp... my question is, what is the difference between installing your fonts into the system and placing them into the fonts folder in Gimp (besides all programs being able to use them)?? I've been installing all my fonts into the system I wanna use in Gimp... is it better to use the font folder in the Gimp user profile or to install them into the system?

I think you should read the original mail again. Hint: "system fonts not shown" is not the problem, but the desired outcome.I have accidentally read a "not" into the original mail, thus it became "to get Gimp to *not* only show fonts from the user/fonts file"
The configuration to check is the fonconfig settings then, for example the the global, system-wide fonts.conf file. It may contain references to the global font directories, for example /usr/share/fonts/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts. URL....
If you comment those out, then you can (and have to) add all font directories in GIMP's settings, for example.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIf I'm creating a Photoshop PDF in order to keep the type in vector format, will the font then be embedded in the PDF? I'm not rasterizing the type since I want it to stay vector, but then I'm worried that if I share the file someone else will have trouble with it. I made a Photoshop PDF yesterday that I needed to share -- I just sent the font along with it. I knew it would probably ask for the font if they attempted to edit it in Photoshop -- but if they just printed it from the PDF maybe it would be embedded? Acrobat is listing it as an embedded subset, but I don't see how it can be embedded if the editing capabilities are still there.
