After using PSE v6.0 for years under Mac Leopard, I upgraded to Snow Leopard and it is no longer stable....crashes mostly when saving a file. I tried reinstalling PSE v6.0 but nothing changed. I've looked for upgrades to both Snow Leopard and PSE v6.0 but Snow Leopard's didn't improve anything and I can't find upgrade to PSE.

What gives? Will Adobe fix this and make them compatable? I have a fortune invested in fonts I'm not about to toss. What are Adobe and Apple going to do about this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI used to use Photoshop CS on my old PPC eMac with OS 10.4.11 (Tiger), and printed successfully on good quality glossy photo paper using an Epson Stylus Photo R340 printer. I have now upgraded to an Intel Mac mini with OS 10.8.3 (Mountain Lion). I am afraid I cannot afford to buy the latest version of Photoshop, so I have installed Parallels Desktop and, within it, Snow Leopard Server, so that I can run Photoshop CS2.
I have now got the correct driver for my printer and all the printer and paper profiles. Using exactly the same profile and other settings that I used to use with Photoshop CS on my old computer, when I printed a TIFF image, the results were a print with extremely pale, washed-out colours. When I used the 'Preview' feature of the printer software, the colours looked good, but when I printed they were hopeless.
I don't think it is the printer. If I set the Photoshop output to let the printer determine colours, I get quite good results. But when I switch to letting Photoshop determine colours, I get these impossibly pale colours. I have checked through all the preference settings of Photoshop CS2 and cannot find anything that might account for this misbehaviour.
I have Adobe Design Collection (before it became CS this and that...)
eg Photoshop 7
Illustrator 10
InDesign 2
Acrobat 5.
I've installed Illustrator 10. Fine. It recognised the lack of Classic environment and installed. It runs ok. But Photoshop 7. It installed as per above. But when it attempts to load it hangs with the error, "An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred because of a program error. Photoshop will now exit."
I have an iMac dual core Intel 3.O with 4 gigs of ram. SnowLeopard 10.6.8
I have never had anything go wrong before, so I do not know what to do about this, but I cannot do any 3D work. I was hoping to learn new skills. I am working on a Mac pro which is about five years old. Do I need to upgarde this card, download something for it? Buy anew card?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI initially noticed this problem within Lion and Lightroom 4 when printing to my Epson 4800. The colour shifts to a more pinkish hue in prints done in Lion. I'd originally thought this was unique to Lightroom, but the same thing happens to the same file when printed in Preview, so I'm assuming it has something to do with Lion or the Epson printer. I can confirm it's not a monitor calibration issue, and that my printer driver for the 4800 is the one for Lion, and that everything in Lightroom and the driver is configured identically in both versions of the OS.
View 1 Replies View RelatedNikon D800 + LR4 import problem with dual card system:
I am transferring files to my computer (OSX, snow leopard) via USB cable. I am using dual card system with my camera: CF and SD. I am using the "backup" option which means that the content of both memory cards is identical. NEF + NEF with identical file names.
When the camera is connected to the computer and LR4 "import" is opened, LR4 does not show "D800 1" or "D800 2" -- it shows only "D800". This means that I cannot select a card which I would like to import the files from (like I can do with D700 or D3). And most of all, LR4 reacts inconsistently on "Don't import suspected duplicates". Usually, it wants to import all images on both cards -- this means that all files would be imported twice.
At the moment, in my D800, I have SD and CF with 3 identical NEF files on both cards. "Don't import suspected duplicates" is selected. In the import window I can see that LR4 wants to import 5 files: 0474+0474 (duplicates), 0475, 0476+0476 (duplicates). So, out from 6 images it recognizes that there is a one duplicate about to be imported, but those two others are not duplicates?
nstall of CS2 on my Win7 64bit machine and in the process I find that CS2 is no longer supported, (no big surprise,) and CS2 may have issues with 64bit.
I only really use Photoshop, so I'm thinking maybe I should look at why I should or shouldn't upgrade. (Amazon has the upgrade @ $153.xx USD or something like that at the moment.)
I do original art, inputting drawings and manipulating them in Photoshop, as well as working with digi photos. Worth the upgrade? What's new that I should be aware of?
I have CS3 and ultimately want to upgrade. In the short term, I need to deactivate the computers that previously had CS3 on them. I don't even have the computers anymore. I will then just reload my existing copy of CS3, get it re-established and move on from there. What is the simple way to do this?
