I just installed Photoshop CC last night and today Bridge is VERY slow. Every folder I open even if I opened it yesterday has to build some kind of an index. Also it keeps crashing it never crashed before.
View 5 RepliesSince installing CS6, I keep getting a pop-up message whenever I first start to open up Bridge. The message says: "Bridge encountered a problem and is unable to read the cache. Please try purging the central cache in Cache Preferences to correct the situation." I have cleared the cache, but the message keeps appearing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently installed the trial version of Cyberlink PowerDirector 11 (a video editing programme) but un-installed it again because it did not suit my requirements.
Since I installed PowerDirector, Lightroom has become unbearably slow. It is barely usable now. Before, LR was very fast on my system.
I need getting my system back to the previous performance. I have already run a PowerDirector specific “cleaning” utility, CLCleaner2_PowerDVD_11.exe and also Piriform CCleaner and System Mechanic but the problems persist.
I'm on a Mac Pro, quad core, 9 GB memory. I have been using CS5 for all my photo work and use Bridge and ACR to do all of my editing. I have set up two monitors with content on the right screen as thumbnails and preview (and other tabs) on the left screen. To do my edits I use the right/left arrow keys to scroll through the images (and then make my picks/ratings) as I go.
I just installed CS6 Demo and am trying to do the same thing...everything else works normally but the right/left arrow keys (moving from image to image) now takes 4 to 5 seconds to bring up the image (CS5 was instant).All paramaters/settings/preferences are the same. I know CS6 needs a more powerful video card (mine is only 256 mb...I will be upgrading soon)...but here's the weird thing which leads me to believe that's not the problem...the up and down arrow keys work normally, i.e. they go from image to image instantly. I edit folders of images that range from 200 to 300, up to 1500 images from a shoot on a daily basis so I need this to work for me!
Also, I'm having problems trying to run a batch in CS6, I set up an action identical to what I had running in CS5 (embedding a text logo on an image) and while it goes through the process of doing the action, at the end it pops up an error message and lists all the images saying it could not process the request. Weird or what?

1. Updating previews (100%) is very slow.
Bridge CS6 has problems updating the previews of images that get edited.While creating preview from scratch is rather swift, updating previews takes about six minutes on a MacBook Pro retina with 16Gb RAM.After one minute the preview gets updated, but then the busy signal in the low left corner just keeps turning and turning for five more minutes.Why is this happening? Is Bridge still busy with those previews? Why? The preview has already been updated, why those extra five minutes of business?
2. Image deleting is painfully slow.
You type Command + Delete, and nothing is happening for five, six seconds.Only then the images get deleted. Has noticed these two hold-ups?
I just went back after writing and editing this post, and Bridge is still busy with the preview update. This is now 15 minutes after the image had been edited. The busy signal in the lower left corner just never turns off again.
It feels like Bridge has also problems working in the background. As soon as you open e.g. a browser to bridge the waiting for bridge, Bridge seems to keep the busy signal rotating, but not actually doing anything until you close the browser again. Which is why I just had a 15 minute wait for an image preview to finally update. The time spent in the browser did not "count".

While trying to start the bridge from photoshop ("go to bridge") results in a bridge's crash...
In my former installations (5.0 and 5.1) everything was ok ...
After opening Bridge CS6 (and using mini Bridge), there are no thumbnails showing. I've pointed Bridge to just one folder with less than 5 photos in it and it cannot even display them. I'm running a recent Mac Pro with 16GB RAM and kick graphics card.

I have a student edition of CS5 Extended. I have been running it on a Linux Ubuntu system with virtural box 32 bit only. I happy to announce I now have a new PC with windows 7 with an upgrade to windows 8 that I can purchase. I was wondering since I will now be able to use the 64 bit Photoshop on my new system what is the procedure to get my serial number for my new PC? I do not know where I saved it. I still have the disk nd the boxWhen I install it tomorrow (Monday Oct 22) Also Should I upgrade to CS5.5?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with installing any Adobe CS5 programs on my Mac OS X 10.6.8. I successfully installed a Master Collection CS5 edition that we use in my school. But then I had to reinstall all of them and after installing it says it was successfull but all I find in my "Applications" folder is just folders of the applications and nothing to launch inside. I thought at first that maby this had something to do with cashe so I cleared all cashe and manually looked for more files that maby would have remained on the computer but I could not find any. View 4 Replies View RelatedThe company I've just started working for has gotten a copy of CS2 with a 5 user license for the 4 machines. I managed to talk them into letting me use the 5th license at home (I work from home from time to time). Woohoo
However I've been trying to install it on my 1.8Ghz AppleMac G5 with 512Mb AM 120Mb free HD space and running Mac OSX 10.3.9 and It won't.
I run the installer program it asks for my admin password and then calls up a dialog box saying...
"All Adobe applications must be closed before your new software can be installed.
Please close all Adobe applications that are running and then restart the installer."
And makes me quit the installer.
There is NOTHING running.
I have dumped ALL existent Adobe software.
I have created a new User Account and tried from there.
I have safe booted and tried like that.
I have repaired my Disk Permissions
I have created Disk Images of all the disks and tried installing from the desktop.
Still does the same thing.

I own the Adobe Creative Suite CS3 Web Premium and I just purchased the Adobe Production Premium CS4. I just rebuilt the machine with Vista 64 and am about to reinstall all the software. I'm trying to figure out if I can skip Photoshop CS3, Illustrator CS3 and Version Cue CS3 when I install the CS3 suite and just use the ones that came with CS4 or is this going to cause any issues? (i.e. should I also install the CS3 versions?). I was told to make sure I install the Flash CS3 before the Flash CS4, but what about Photoshop and Illustrator?

iv also done the script cs3 cleanup thing at level 2 but still wont work.
