Paint.NET :: Doesn't Have Smudge Effect
Apr 4, 2011So, in a tutorial I noticed it wanted me to use an effect called "Smudge". It's not the plugin brush, it's the effect, which I do not have.

My "pal" Ben designed it but he gets really touchy when i ask him how to do things, so we have fallen out due to him being up his own ***
ill try and get a better picture of it, i have the record sleeve upstairs but no scanner.

Feb 25, 2009I am not quite sure what happened, but now my smudge brush (I have CS version) will not smudge, it only colors. I'm not quite sure how to fix it short of reinstalling photoshop again, and I'd rather not do that if I don't have to.

Apr 7, 2011I downloaded Pyrochilds "Smudge" plugin and the plugin error says that it's not compatible with this version of Paint.Net. I have the latest I believe v3.5.8 I also unblocked it and still nothing.

Apr 11, 2011With Quicksilver renderer, if I lower the value of shadow intensity in render settings, the shadows still appears total black as with the value 1.0.
However, this same parameter in viewport settings works fine with Nitrous.

May 27, 2011i'm using my corelphoto paint x3 for a year now and it is working fyn then on one occassion i don't know but while editing an image, i suddenly discovered that my effect tools, paint tools, clone tools wont work or wont make changes on the image i'm editing... i've already checked the menus and settings but still no work..i also tried reinstalling the program but still it's all the same..

After Effects :: Motion Blur Effect Doesn't Stop After The Comp Stops Moving?
Jun 30, 2012I am animating comps in After Effects CS6, and I'm quickly moving objects across the screen using positioning keyframes and changing size using scaling keyframes. Most of the time it works great; but sometimes the motion blur effect keeps appearing *after* the object has stopped moving. Not just for a second -- but forever. It appears correct when scrubbing on the timeline, but when I render the final output movie, a non-moving object sometimes has motion blur all over it.Â

Sometimes I can fix it by un-parenting some layers inside the comp... other times it doesn't fix it. Sometimes I just delete it and start over and it works. Seems more like a bug then something I'm doing wrong.

I also tried on my Mac Pro tower and Macbook Pro laptop in case it was a graphics card issue; it isn't, the exact same problem manifests itself in both areas. I did just discover that turning continuous raster OFF does seem to fix the problem--but then my vector images are blurry when I zoom in... and that again sounds more like a bug, not like an incorrect setting.

Feb 20, 2013I've got a little problem with Smudge tool. you may notice hard edged corners around smudge tool strokes this only appears then you use image sampled brush with scattering for a smudge tool bug also disappear if you set the strength of smudge effect to 100% or if you use default round brush. bug appears only in Adobe Photoshop CS6, in previous version everything was Ok.

Oct 8, 2013I got used to PS CS4 before buying CS6 for my graphism classes and the smudge tool was standing still when using it (Keeping the same shape).

Now on CS6, when I use the smudge tool, the brush is changing at every swipes I do. Is there a way to keep it like in CS4 ?

Always i smudge something this is what happens...
Finger painting is not selected, strength is at 65% and i´m using a normal round smooth brush (0% hardness)
In CS2 didnt have this problem....

Photoshop :: Oil Paint Filter Doesn't Turn Out
May 13, 2013I'm using the oil paint filter and for some reason it doesn't turn out when I use it. It doesn't seem to be an issue for very very small sized images, if I make the photo smaller it will work just fine. However, for any regular sized images I get this result below. I just got a new computer, so i'm not sure what the issue could be?

Photoshop :: Was The Smudge Tool Changed?
Jun 12, 2012In Photoshop CS5 and under, the smudge tool at 100% Strength would drag pixels without smudging/blurring/mixing, creating this cool painting effect. Customizing the smudge tool with a bit of a textured brush shape and some scattering, with 100% smudging Strength would create this amazing painterly effect, but now in Photoshop CS6 the 100% strength does not work. In fact, it works much worse than 99%.

As you can see, at 99% strength, the smudge does less blurring, and more dragging, which is almost as close as Photoshop CS5's 100% smudging strength( it hardly ever blurred or mixed, 100% would only drag in CS5)100% on CS6 does considerably worse dragging, and alot of blurring, and seems to only be a step above 90%, which blurs and mixes more.
I'm not sure if this is a bug, or if this was an intentional edit to the smudging tool. The smudging tool in the past was completely fine, and now I can't use my smudging tool presets because they do not create the same effects they did when I created them back in CS5.

Sep 3, 2008Whenever I use the smudge tool, PS freezes and I have to close it. This is ONLY when I smudge. When I do anything else the program runs fine.
Then after it freezes a couple times, when I try to reopen it, I get a system error message saying there's a hardware problem and I can't fix the error . . .
but the next day I open PS and it runs fine! Only everything has been reset as if I just installed the program for the first time! Then I'll start working on a picture and as soon as I smudge it freezes.
my computer runs on 1.66Ghz, 1.99 GB of Ram. Is this a problem?
