Lightroom :: Lightroom Files Still Found By Backup Program After Uninstall?
Aug 29, 2012I uninstalled Lightroom, because it was too slow on my computer. It put a lot of library files and directories in My pictures folder.
When I use a backup program (SyncbackSE) to backup my pictures, it starts to scan all the Lightroom library files and it takes forever (hours and counting). Even though Windows cannot find the directories (with hidden and system files shown). I want to completely delete the Lightroom directories, because now I can't backup my images anymore. It is a pain in the dark places.
Lightroom :: Save As Saves To Lightroom
Jan 6, 2013Before, I could do a Command-E to open in Photoshop, do a Save As (to the Desktop, for instance) and it wouldn't get put into Lightroom. Now when doing a Save As from Photoshop, the edited file gets put back into Lightroom. What am I missing?

Reinstall the program again hoping to start fresh and new but still most of the keywords are there. I am really thinking to do a major surgical operation to my PC by formatting my hard drive.

Jan 2, 2014I just ordered a mac to put in a spare office and according to my LR5 retail box it has both the win and mac version on the DVD however when I view the files on the disc I only see a 64 & 32 bit windows .exe even when i view "all hidden files and folders"
So i was wondering if there's a reason I'm not seeing the .dmg on the DVD, If I download the .dmg I can see the .dmg file on my pc so i was curious why i can't see it on the dvd. the dvd is 1.2 +GB but the "visible" files on the DVD equal just over 800MB
I am basically just trying to find out the logical reason why it looks this way before my mac computer arrives because I keep asking myself if I have a bad dvd or is there a simple reason why I can't see the .dmg on the dvd.

Adobe updated the spec on DNG formats for Lightroom 4 according to this article and I'm wondering about what this might mean in the longterm to DNG files that were converted in the past and whether old ones can or should be updated to the latest spec.

But with CS3 incorporating much of it, what the point of having it? Are there indispensible things that Lightroom does for you that CS3 will not? I'd like to hear.

My question now is do I import as a DNG? What are the benefits of this?

Feb 16, 2014I am a long time canon shooter and I have always been ok with the CR2 format.My catalog recently started growing rapidly (100.000+), and I found myself convinced by the usefulness of the DNG format.Hence, I downloaded the Adobe DNG converter and started converting alot of folders pictures, happy to see my a bit of load taken off my disks.After converting a good deal of my pictures, I started what I thought would be a simple re-linking of meedia as I am used to from Pr and Ae.I get the message from lightroom that the photos cannot be found.
I get minor panic attacks at the mere possibility of no being able to relink my directories and this loosing my edits..Most of the original CR2 have been deleted.Conversion was done using Lossless settings while NOT embedding the original CR2 file (as this would pretty much defy the purpose of converting for space)
Lightroom :: Can't Print From LR5
Jun 11, 2013I'm trying to print a test print before I print a 13 x 38 panorama. I don't know yet if anything will print as I want, but here's what I've spent time thrashing on with this print:
Mac os 10.8.4, latest Epson drivers, Epson 3880. I've got this set up as a custom paper size, and it's in the rear paper slot, since it's a heavy fine art paper. Color managment is using a custom profile I made. When I click "Printer," then do the setup, then click "print," I get progress in the upper left that says "Rendering..." Then the printer driver briefly pops up in the dock, then disappears. The paper is loaded, and the printer sits there saying "ready." It's connected and online, and I can see the ink levels in it.
If I try to print a PDF from the same print dialog, I get a pdf that looks as it should. If I print to a jpg instead of to Printer in the Print Job settings, I get a jpg that seems as it should.
I was just printing to LR 4 using these same settings the other day.Yes, I have reselected the printer in the drop down menu.
