There was a special offer here with Groupon for printed canvasas, I've stocked up as there were a couple of images I always wanted blown up to +/- A1 size. However, I bought more than I needed. With the couple I have left, my plan is to create a collage of photos from my collection and then have it printed.
My question is, what software package is best for this? We had a professional photo shoot done a couple of months ago, and the photographer used Lightroom when we he was displaying the pictures for us to choose, and I presume that this would also have been used for the editing and creating the collage?
I'm not after anything fancy, just something that is realitvely easy to use, and let's me drag and drop them into a template. photos are all in either 16:9 or 6:4 ratio, and my plan was to have just simple rows of photos going along?
I am wondering how I can make a simple collage of three or four photo's. Something like a progression of movement, or a film strip kind of look. I am able to do this in Picasa but I am not happy with the resolution of the final product. I assume it is to do with layers. Here is what I would like to be able to do [URL] ..........
Once I have created a product collage using various photos saved on my desktop from the Internet and saved it as a JPEG, is it safe to delete those photos from my computer?
I'd like to combine a number of cropped photos (2x2, for instance) into a larger photo (8x10 or so) that I can ultimately have printed at Costco. I've checked a number of PE4 "help" books and none of them seem to address this. I'm sure it can be done; it seems rather straightforward, given some of the other complex features that PE4 offers.
I have a small business doing canvas stretch pictures. A client of mine has asked me to do a collage of 27 photos and I used Shape Collage to do so. She wanted a collage with all the photos in a regulated format. That is Avg.Angle zero degrees, Max. Angle zero degrees, Offset X zero and Offset Y zero. After creating the collage I saved it as a PSd file. So Far So good. I then opened Gimp 2.8.4 and was quite confused as the latest program appearance is nothing like the tutorials and images on the net. However I was able to open the image of the collage by importing the psd file. I was also able to edit the photos and reposition them according to her wishes. I then saved the file as a psd. She wanted to see a jpeg copy of the collage as she does not have photoshop on her pc. In order to show her I had to flatten the psd and then save it in photoshop to a jpeg format. She now wants me to add one more photo to the existing collage.
I want to create a collage image with numerous large photos, each in it's own layer during editing. In order to fit, all the images need to be scaled down to varying degrees, but when I'm starting out, I'm not sure what scale each image will need to be. With the default, if I shrink them too much then they get pixellated when I try to enlarge them again. Is there a way of enabling gimp to scale each image, but drop this version and reuse the original data on future scale operations (ie a "lossless" scaling operation)?
Currently I'm having to essentially create the collage twice - first time various shrink and expands til all images fit together, then start again but just rescale once to the required size.
I presume I'm correct in thinking there's no record function in GIMP yet, so I can't record my actions to GIMP then just delete redundant steps and replay...
I would like to make a photo collage but I always have a box pop up that states integer between 1953789282 & 53945508715 required, closest value inserted & then I cannot go any further. Not sure what that means
I want to create a mosaic/collage type thing of loads (100+) of images i've taken. Is there any shortcut way of doing it, or is the only way importing each image and resizing it?
to Photoshop elements and will be needing to make: collages consisting of multiple photos from my personal files usually between five and 10 total photos. Yesterday while browsing Photoshop elements frequently asked questions I came across an answer explaining how to do this using full edit.
After creating a photo collage using Create in PSE 11, I saved & closed it. When I try to open it in Expert editing mode, it will only open in Create. Advanced editing in Create doesn't work because it has no crop tool and the eyedropper tool does not work. How do I get my collage back into Expert mode (full) editing?
I have been using LR 4 with PSE 11, and have had no problems. I just installed LR 4 on a new computer, and upgraded to PSE 12. Now, when I send a photo to edit in PSE, from LR, I am not able to create or duplicate layers.( The layers dropdown menu is grayed out). When I open a photo directly from PSE, it works fine.
Since this morning, I'm unable to import photos or create a new catalog in LR 4.2 on Mac OS X 10.8.2. When I choose "File -> Import Photo or Video" nothing happens. The same happens when I choose "Create new catalog". Also when I insert a CF card into my cardreader, there is no import dialog popping up.
I have updated to 4.2 a while ago but never tried to import new photos so I wasn't aware of that issue.
I tried to reinstall LR and I also optimized the catalog but that did not solve the problem either.
I can't figure out how to create a new folder in lightroom to post photos to a new album in lightroom. When I'm in the publishing manager there are no options under the settings for Facebook album.
I'm finally moving my 15,000 photos from iphoto to Lightroom. I'm going to start from scratch, import all the pictures into Lightroom 5, and add tags to all the photos and create collections and smart collections. I have a desktop and a laptop. I'm traveling, so I want to do a lot of the work on my laptop (adding the tags and creating collections and smart collections). When I return home, can I use an external HD to transfer the photos to my desktop and keep all the tags and collections (and metadata)?
I'm using Lightroom 5.2 on a 27-inch iMac running Mavericks. I want to create a slide show full of photos with a native aspect ratio of 3:2 (from a Nikon D4 and a Nikon D800). I do NOT want the photos to be trimmed along the top and bottom, which is what happens when I choose "Zoom to fill frame" in the Slide Show module. I do NOT want letterboxing along the right and left edges of the photo, which is what I get if I don't choose "Zoom to fill frame" and just export the slide show using the "Export Video" button in the lower left of the Slide Show module. ("Export Video" gives me four choices for "Video Preset," but none of the four is a 3:2 aspect ratio.) I just want a slide show of uncropped 3:2 aspect ratio photos with no border around them whatsoever. Considering how many of the photos taken every day on this planet are still in the 3:2 aspect ratio, I find it hard to believe there isn't a way to do this.
If for some reason there is no way to create such a slide show in Lightroom, I have Creative Suite 5, iPhoto, and iMovie, but I don't want to buy any new software just for this.
How can I create a smart collection that automatically includes 4+ star photos created in the last month plus 5 star photos created within the last year? (i.e., only show best photos further back in time, but more recently, show a wider selection of photos)
Apparently, you can't include results of one SmartCollection in another SmartCollection (i.e., "Collection" criteria does not operate on SmartCollections).
I copied photo folders from my hard drive to lightroom 4 and edited them but then accidentally removed these folders from lightroom. I then imported these folders again into lightroom but all the edits I made orginally in lightroom don't show up for the individual photo's.
I backed up the Lightroom catalogue regularily. Is there any way I can reattach these edits to their respective photos'. There is lot of photo's involved.
I add five photos to a folder in Lightroom 4.3. The photos are in the specified folder in Windows. Import shows the five photos as imported but greyed out and semi-highlighted. Library does not show these five photos. What can I do?
I have a project where the client wants a photo collage and have each picture pop out individually from the collage. I have VS Pro X4. I have been unable to figure out how to do this.
