Nov 29, 2012LR 4.2 won't recognize CR2. LR 4.1 did. Same card, Canon 50D, Windows 7. What's the fix?

Jan 16, 2014I am having problems all of a sudden importing my RAW files into Lightroom. I have been doing nothing different and have been using the same equipment.It just says that it can't read the files.

Nov 24, 2011When connecting my Sony A77 to the computer in order to import photos to Lightroom 3.5 I am not able to doubleclick on the tumbnail to show preview of the thumbnails. The thumbnails are showing, but it seems to be very low resolution, and when doubleclicking on a thumbnail the message "could not read preview" is displayed. If I remove the memory card from the camera and put the memory card into the cardreader on my laptop I can view high resolution thumbnails, and also get previews.

Apr 24, 2013I recently upgraded from a mac mini to a macbook pro retina using migration assistant and time machine backup. All went well, and since all my photos were on an external drive, no problems there. However, when I try to import new photos, I see the images, but then get a list of the .CR2 files and an error message of "unable to read files." This is a Sandisk Extreme 16 GB SD card, and it still successfully works on the old mac. Following a similar issue in the forum, I checked permissions, and those appear to all be correct. I'm running LR 4.4.

Mar 9, 2013I am doing some editing work for a magazine. The lead editor had issues with adobe camera raw viewing some of my edits. The xmp files are there but for some reason they are not loading. We narrowed it down to just the Nikon D4 files. I just had her download a trial version of LR4 and we are getting the same issue. The xmp's are there in the same folder as the .nef files. Import into Lightroom, and all D4 files do not show my edits.
We are both running Lightroom 4.3, Camera Raw 7.3.

Sep 17, 2013Video metadata (EXIF) is not being correctly read by Lightroom 5.
1) From the same Canon S100 camera, photos show the correct model "Camera Model Name," but videos show "Unknown camera."
2) Lightroom 5 upgraded a catalog from LR 3. The videos already in the LR 3 catalog when it was upgraded to LR 5 show NO times (modified, created, nothing).
3) Importing the same videos directly into LR 5 shows Capture Time and Capture Date, but the time is offset by several hours.
The correct metadata is in the file, as proven by ExifTool (using Metadata Viewer Plugin).

Oct 16, 2012I have just bought a refurb' imac 27" and have imported my photos to the imac, inside a folder I have created inside picture called 'Lightroom 4 photos'
The photos were originally NEFs on my windows laptop, and were imported/edited originally using the Nikon programs transfer, view nx and capture nxw, They all contain my copyright info etc, and have been keyworded. I am about to import them into LR4, but a little niggle is stopping me. I understand that LR4 won't read my NX2 edits, but can't find out whether a) LR will read the existing metadata so I have to do nothing, or b)I will have to enter all metadata again into lightroom.
I have about 800 photos, so wouldn't be a huge problem if I needed to re-enter

Mar 31, 2012I am saving the metadata in LR4 (as I normally do with LR3) and not all the adjustments are registering in Bridge CS5 or Adobe Camera RAW.
The develop panels (i.e. tone, presence) in LR4 have obviously changed and don't exactly match the current Adobe Camera RAW adjustment panel and so I am noticing that all the topmost develop tools such as Tone (Exposure, Contrast, Highlights, Shadows, Whites, Blacks) and Presence (clarity, vibrance, saturation) are not registering/landing in Bridge.

Nov 21, 2011I can't get Lightroom3.4.1 to read Samsung's raw files. in sRGB or adobeRGB. This is the new NX 200. But since it is supposed to support NX100, one would think NX 200 should be the same format. The samsung converter makes for a clumsy workflow.
