Illustrator :: New Doc Sizing Limit?
Mar 14, 2013I'm trying to create a 283.28" by 85" document, but the 283.28" part keeps automatically changing to 227.54". Is there some kind of size limit? What am I missing?

Illustrator :: Artboard Sizing To The Decimal?
Mar 24, 2014Is there a way to size without Illustrator CS6 rounding up? example, I need my document to be 3.625 x 2.125" to output a file to a printer and illustrator keeps rounding up to the third decimal 3.63, Is there any way around this? I found going back to CS3 works but all my files have conversion issues opening that far back.

Aug 3, 2012I'm having a bit of problem with my CS6 Illustrator and it started in illustrator CS5, I can create an eps file within Illustrator save it as CS6, but when i go to open it again i get an error " Can't open the illustration. The illustration exceeds an implementation limit. I get an option to click ok and when i do i get a blank artboard with nothing on it.
I can see the artwork preview in the finder window when i select the eps file, I can open it in photoshop, convert it in preivew and if i place the file back into illustrator i can see the artwork and click embed to edit it.
Illustrator :: Why Is There A Limit To PNG Export Image Sizes
Jun 26, 2012This came to my attention around the CS4 era, but I've recently noticed still remains with CS6 - but just why is there a limit as to what image sizes we can export PNG files at [AKA around the 8000x8000 area at 400dpi for me]?
Surely as long as we have the computing power [and RAM] than we should be able to export beyond the 10000/400dpi pixels range [or does it depend on the computer]?
Illustrator :: 3D Letters With A Black Inside Stroke - Adjusting Cap / Limit?
Aug 14, 2013I've got some letters with a black inside stroke. These are 3D letters, therefore the stroke must be in the inside otherwise it spills out the edges if I put it outside or centered.
I've tried adjusting the cap/limit and all other options on the stroke menu without luck How can I fix these corner errors? I'm on Illustrator CS5.

May 14, 2013I wish to limit the user input of and edittext to only allow a positive number, float or int. I do not yet know my Regex good enough to do this. I realize that I must get better at regex but in the meantime how to do this ?

Feb 24, 2013I have a bit of a problem with apple script, I'm creating a Text item and setting the stroke to 0.4pt then i want the stroke miter limit to be set to 2 but it wont work i get :-
Adobe Illustrator got an error: Can’t set properties of text frame 1 of layer 1 of document 1 to {stroke miter limit:2}. (error -10006) but im am able to apply a stroke miter limit of 2 on a path item, is there a way of converting the text frame to a path item then applying the stroke miter limit to it.

Sep 19, 2012Why can't I fix the size of my image in Photoshop? I try to make it, for example, 3.5" x 2.5", and have tried both the image size AND canvas size options. When I go and check the image size, it is 3.52" x 2.51", for instance. I've never encountered this before (using Photoshop 12 years now), and don't know how to fix this.

Mar 2, 2012I am a digital scrapbook designer and I, and several fellow designers, have just started experiencing some odd behavior in CS. It is occuring on both Mac and PC platforms and in versions of CS3 through 5.
We create 12 x 12 in (3600 x 3600 px) 300 dpi documents used by our customers as "backgrounds" for digital scrapbooking kits. We save the documents as jpg's Basline Standard, anywhere from 8-12. Sometimes, if we open a saved jpg and place (drag) it onto a new 12 x 12 document, we notice that the saved file is just a bit and sometimes as much as an 8th of an inch smaller than the new document, even though they are both 12 x 12, 300 dpi. Additionally sometimes when we drag the saved files from Finder or Windows Explorer to a new document while holding the shfit key to center placement, we're still off by that same 8th of an inch. Sometimes, if we align the horizontonal and vertical, the same jpg will be perfectly aligned and no longer too small for the 12 x 12 document and sometimes you can very clearly see the edges of the layer beneath.
This issue is driving us nuts because it just started happening recently and our customers, who very often have their finished scrapbook pages printed, have also started noticing. I don't have a clue where start trouble-shooting this.

Aug 20, 2013I have created a polka dot pattern (.125 inch) on Photoshop CS6. When I print it out at home it comes out perfectly. However, I need larger print outs so, I corresponded with FedEx print to make them for me. The issue is that the dots come out a bit smaller than .125 inch.

Jan 3, 2012My issue is that I can use the rectangle tool to draw a 3X3in box, when I print the box (using a laser router cutting 1/8" acrylic) the cut dimensions on the inside drop is a 1/32" short on the X&Y but the female hole cut into the material will be perfect 3X3". I understand that this is due to the tool path of the laser but I can't control this tool path. I need perfect blocks not perfect hole.

Aug 16, 2006I have been unable to print several resized images onto one single picture.
I have been resizing an image by selecting an area, copying, creating a new blank image via NEW>CLIPBOARD and then pasting the image onto the blank canvas. Then going to IMAGE>IMAGE SIZE and changing to the required size.
This works fine for printing one image but if I copy and paste a couple of images onto a new canvas the images are not the original size.

May 24, 2008If I use 'save for web' and resize the image to a specific pixel width and height, how do I know if it is resized at 72 pixels per inch, 96 pixels etc? Are there specs for low, high, maximum quality in the Save for Web tool?

Feb 7, 2005I have Microsoft picture and fax viewer that I use to show off my pictures in a slide show. I can get an awesome zoom to see minute details. How can I do this in Photoshop? Many times, the image becomes blury or pixelated. Some pics, I only want a small detail, so I try zooming in and using the marque tool to capture it and place in a new image, but it there a better way to do this to keep the clarity of the picture?

Mar 25, 2008I have created an action to re-size images as I have 700 to do. BUT when I try to batch process I keep getting the Jpeg option box open to set image quality. This only happens when trying to batch process original straight out of the camera images. If I try to batch already saved images it works ok. Does anyone have any idea how to get around this?
I'm using CS and Win XP home.

May 23, 2006I have created a Photoshop image to print on a 8.5 x 11 inch canvas size (letter paper) and have scaled the document inside the canvas with 1/4 inches on all sides of the image. However shows that the image is over and above the allowable printable area for a letter size page.
I have to resize the image for printing to get the entire image in the letter size page. Problem is, the image gets off center once resized for printing.
Is there any set margins in photoshop or by the printer to require a border ? margins ? i am stumped as the image is within the 8.5x11" canvas size, but shows the image as larger (oustside the printable area) on the print preview....thinking there is some unwritten safety margins on the letter document i have missed.
Photoshop :: Save For Web Sizing
Jul 14, 2004Save for Web has an option for Image Size, it's a tab on the right side of the Save for Web window (Photoshop CS).
Well, I tried to resize the size in this window, saved the file, closed every open file and reopened that resized file that I had save with that resize option. Turns out that nothing was resized
I tried it several time, still the same size, even double checked in image/image size.
So what's going on here? I just discovered this option today and thought it would be useful to post images/screenshots to the internet... that is... if it works.

Mar 9, 2009CS4 Is not allowing me to size the images as I would like.
I have PSD files that I need to size at- in this instance- to 11" Wide X 8.5" tall. CS4 will not let me do this.
When I try to size the image to fit the size I need one dimension gets thrown off. As I do not want to distort the image, I try to crop. (Cutting part of the image that has to be sacrifised to fit the size needed.) That will not work either. CS4 will not allow that change.
Once again what should be a simple task has become a miserable CS4 experience. Hours of reading instructions and watching videos is of no help.
Sizing an image to a given set of measurments should not be so difficult (and so far impossible).

Jul 24, 2013I am having difficulty generating a 43 minute video in .mp4 (1920x1080). I was able to successfully generate the (.mp4) video at 1280x720. I was also able to successfully generate an 11gb .wmv version and a 9gb .avi version. I have 120GB free space on a 500GB (NTFS) SSD.
Each time I try and generate the video using .mp4 and 1920x1080 the process dies after about 3 hours, always at 85% completion and the temporary work files created in the output directory are always very near 4gb (3.99gb) in size (but never over). That fact and the fact that I can generate all the other versions makes me wonder if there is some kind of 4GB limit to mp4 (in VideoStudio).
I have tried to do some research and it appears there are .mp4 files > 4gb in the wild but my version of Video Studio X5 Ultimate sure seems to have this limitation. If upgrading to X6 would fix this, I'd be happy to do this. But don't need to upgrade if it doesn't fix this issue.
I actually have 2 laptops (both Dell Latitudes) and have attempted to generate the video at the 1920x1080 resolution on both and both fail exactly the same way (85%, just under 4gb temp file).

Dec 24, 2006I've had PS 7.01 for a while now, been running it on a 1GB ram machine with no problems and I'm about to upgrade to a puter with 4GB, however i recall hearing a while ago that PS can only recognice 2GB ram, will this mean that i will have problems running PS7 ?
