View 1 RepliesI am trying to edit some pictures that a customer of mine has taken. They are of silver utensils wrapped with beads and the way she has taken them, there is a huge shine reflection on them. There are 25 current pictures all using the same dark background.
I have fiddled with the adjustment brightness and highlights, but they come out looking gray and fake, so I removed those adjustments.
I tried using burn the bright spots and then dodge the coloured stones to bring back some luster. No matter what i am doing, it no longer is a silver utensil, it is a picture that has been poorly edited, and that simply isn't okay.
Here are some examples of the raw picture I am working with [URL] ...........
I need to reduce the glare/reflection and the stones need to be vibrant.
how to create this effect ? Turn raw picture from camera to perfect looking ?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI stumbled upon a website that offers (you pay them to do it) realistic gold and silver graphics.I was wondering how can I make this happen? Do I need to download specific plugins?
Here's the drawing I wanna use to turn gold.

The original image had the car in a deep shadow and it appeared to be black. I played around with it and this blue was the best I could do. The real color is silver gray. Is there anyway to change the car color to silver.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Elements 7. I've been using it for a couple of years and know my way around from playing with it but am certainly no expert. I am a jewelry designer with a small home web based business. I offer designs in both silver and gold and wanted to know if I can just change the color of a piece from silver to gold in elements. It's a huge amout of time and money remaking every piece in both metals--I am on a shoestring budget so this is a big deal. (I am attaching a photo as an exaple of what I'd need to convert below)
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having issues when printing from CorelDraw X5, These issues are only on our newest machine so its a fresh clean install of the printer, OS and Corel itself, So I'd like to know how I can get my printer to print exactly what I view on screen, Some colors come out fine however others tend to be different, For example:
When I print a color which displays as a light grey/silver in corel, It prints this in a Lilac-ish color. When I try to print gold it comes out more of a yellow rather than the gold in Coreldraw,
From what I've read using the search on the forums, I must have my monitor, printer and corel all using the same colour profile, I've tried this but to no avail (Maybe I'm not doing it right?) The majority of my documents are in CMYK and I have the same problem from both new documents and ones I've saved from before (i.e the gold was to be a re-print of a customer order) .
I have attached some pictures, you can notice the flash spots due to reflection on silver color. What's the best way to remove these spots and improve the photo quality. (I understand the best way is to shoot the photos in a specific environment to disallow this effect, but I am asking if there is away to edit it using Lightroom and remove the flash effect).

Not sure if GIMP can actual do this.
I am looking to create text words that have a silver/bright mirror effect. The effect might look like silver liquid (water) effect. Or do you know what software it could be designed on.
I did some battery wraps for a company and they are being printed in China. The background is the default cmyk gradient "copper" and one is "silver" in AI. They are asking me to provide the Pantone or CMYK color code for these colors. Since they are a gradient I am not sure what to tell them.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make some book covers and get a decent emboss effect. I'm only using Photoshop Elements 7 but it does have an Emboss facility in the Stylise part of the Filters menu.
The problem is that whatever I do the embossing always comes out in white/silver when I'm trying to get black. Why the hell is that and why can't it be changed? Does anyone know how?
how do you get gold, silver and bronze effects in PS and do they print out?
I was wondering about it the other day and, having perused the other forums inside,
I'm having problems with Silver Efex Pro 2 after upgrading to PS CS6, worked fine in older versions of PS..Downloaded the latest installer from Nik Software..The installer only find my Lightroom 4.1 when installing, and I have to add CS6 manually (locating the plugin folder, also tried other folders). It works fine in LR4.1, but in PS, the software opens, I apply changes, and clik OK, NIK closes, but nothing happens to my image. The history tab says "Silver Efex Pro 2", but no layers/changes to the original image..64bits WIN7 Enterprise, 12GB ram
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had a problem with the Nik Software Silver Efex Pro (SEP) plugin running extremely slowly, but only at certain times. It's been pretty good for the past few months, but it suddenly took a nose-dive a few days ago. It takes ages to load the presets and to process the image in Photoshop once I have made my selections in SEP. I just thought that as SEP is a direct plugin to CS6 Photoshop then perhaps it's something to do with the way Photoshop itself runs. I switched the running of Photoshop to 'Run as administrator' (just right click the program in the start menu and go to compatibility tab) and SEP now runs extremely fast. why running as Admin should make such a difference? Are there any problems in running in Admin mode?
I run Norton Internet Security, and thought that as I'm now OK in Admin mode it might be a virus-checker problem, and running in Admin mode was getting around the problem. I do have both versions of Photoshop (32 and 64 bit) included to 'allow' access in Norton. Here is my system config. My PC runs very well in all other respects.

View 3 Replies View Relatedon creating metallic text, chrome, brushed metal, etc., but I'm wondering if anyone has come across a way to create text that approximates a nice reflective look similar to when printers use foil stamping? Every now and then I'll see magazines and print work that have those beautiful reflective colors that catch the light in ways that really catch the eye, but I'm not sure if this can be recreated in Photoshop?
Another variation I'm interested in trying to create is text that looks like it has a metallic paint, similar to the way cars are painted, so that it's subtle, but you can see little flecks and dimension.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been working at this for about 4 hours and I am still stuck. I am trying to create a padlock from scratch, and have had nothing but problems. Below is one I used as a reference. I created a block for the lock itself and used a gradient fill on it. I then added some filters (noise, blurr, etc.) and came up with a decent though clipart looking lock. I think with some more time I can come closer to the desired effect. My sticking point is on the metal arm. I have tried and tried to duplicate this metallic silver look, and it just looks horrible.

We've been asked to see if we can recolour the stand mixer in this image from it's silver/grey finish to a glossy black as we haven't got a sample of the product to properly photograph here.
We;'re using Photoshop CS5.5 by the way.
I recently got a new computer with Windows 8, and re-installed Photoshop 5.1, Photomatix Pro, and Nik Silver. But when I go into Photoshop, I can't see Photomatix or Nik Silver. I've moved both of them to the Plug-Ins folder and then rebooted, but it doesn't seem to work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using CS2 and have taken some silver jewelry photo's for my website. I would like some advice on creating a nice crisp white background with some shadow around the the base of the item.
What is the best and most efficient method as I'm finding the silver does mingle with the white when I try and adjust the settings. The magic wand isn't much use either.
I want to create a field of silver (and gold) sparkles kind of like what you'd get if you painted with a glue gun. Not surprisingly, Lots of what I've found searching involves applications of Filter > Noise, often on a cloud rendered layer with smartly chosen foreground / background colors.
But I don't like my results so much. Looks ok small. But upon closer inspection lacks shine. More like silver or gold colored sandpaper. Code:

View 6 Replies View RelatedI would like to change silver to be a gold (with magic of photoshop, I don?t need to go to the gold shop )
I enclose here two images. Original and after coloring. For the coloring, after setting the color, I change Normal mode to Hard Light mode. (I found the technique from tutorial in internet)
I am not satisfy with the result, since it looks fake (not that smooth). Is there any other way to smoothen the colorization of the image?
I just downloaded an upgrade version of Lightroom 4. Silver Efex Pro 2 is listed in the "Edit in" menu but does not open when I click on the link. I can open Silver Efex separatelly, but no image is included.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI must make photos of engraved medallions, and I was wondering if instead of having to engrave and shoot each one I could take pictures of a blank and then use a photoshop text effect to simulate the engraving.
is this is feasible and reasonably easy to do or not?
I'd like to show you what I'm trying to simulate but I apparently need 4 posts to have the right to post links...
how to use the airbrush or the other painting tools to duplicate reflective surfaces manually like gold, silver, platinum, copper, bronze, etc?
I would like to take for example a line drawing and duplicate a golden belt buckle, ring, gold chain, a chrome bumper, anything like that. I have experimented with gradients and trying out the airbrush, but it doesn't seem to get the effect I'm trying to apply.
