My laptop did crash last month so...I was a GIMP 2.6 user and now I have Gimp 2.8 . There's something not right with the custom brush size. I made a round brush 201 X 201 pixels. I also made another one 2001 X 2001 pixels. I did crank up the size of the brushes to the "max"( but no matter what size you choose) and...both are of the same size on the image ???
View 4 RepliesBristle brushes have an option near their size sliders named "restore to original size" ... but for some brushes, this option is resetting brushes to another size other than the original size appearing on the brush swacthes.

I've seen they are arranged by name, so how do you rename the brushes since renaming the file name don't rename the brush.

Compare my front view with the original and you will notice an extra circle. I am not sure why that is, but I think it might be because I may not have not modeled the backview properly.
I am using these set limits within a drive constraint so
to show the Jack opening & closing.
Although it can now open & close with ease,
how I can make the crank turn with the screw rod at the same time as the scissor car jack opens & closes.
I create a engine assembly and used "Drive Constrain" to rotate the crank shaft. The animation shows the crank shaft turns continuously in one direction. However, when I animate the constrain in Inventor Studio, the crank shaft turned in two different directions (see the vide file attached).
May I know why the crank shaft turns different direction?
Just installed CS4, and when trying to use brushes, or clone tool, can only see half circle brush when sized over 300.Additionally the "arrange documents" drop down panel has nothing in it!
View 6 Replies View RelatedA few years ago I bought some Photoshop brushes to use in photo albums, but it turned out that when scaled to the size I need (they were flowering decorative frames), the resolution was too poor, so I never used them. This is how the brush looks with the size slider pushed all the way to the right viewed at 100%.
Is there any workaround for vectorizing Photoshop brushes so they can be scaled to any size?
I've used Photoshop for 13 years now and slowly over the years, the subsequent versions have had a problem with the brush cursor maintaining the correct size. Now, with CS6 the problem has become unmanagable! I used to have to go fairly often to preferences to reselect the option to display the actual size of my brushes and pens etc. While a pain, I could deal with it because it only happened once in a while. Now with CS6 it is in a permanent crosshairs mode and will not change no matter what prefs I select! Obviously this makes the program significantly less useful. I'm on a new Mac with Mountain Lion.

On my computer they appear now in my Gimp/brushes folder with the Gimp icon, so I know the file format is correct. I have closed Gimp and restarted..even restarted the computer and cannot get them to show in Brushes with Gimp open on a new project.

For the most part I found brushes with file type gbr and gih. These are recognized by GIMP 2.8.10
Some of the brushes come with file type abr and ggr. These are not recognized by GIMP 2.8.10
Is there some way to make abr and ggr file types work under GIMP?

Why I cannnot export brushes in GIMP2.8. Each time I attempt to export the file I get the message telling me the "Saving "C:Program FilesGIMP 2 shareGIMP2.0rushes snow.gbr failed. It says the permission is denied for opening that directory. I have saved brushes before and not had the problem.

I'm confused because even the brushes that are not in .abr form do not work. Also, sometimes if I try to fix the brushes by uninstalling and reinstalling there will be random ones that work and then old ones disappear?

I cant make a straight line using a rectangle shaped brush. And this happens to all the brushes. It just makes everything look really messy.
I am an avid gamer and like using gimp to make maps for my games. Now I have look all over for a way to make brushes there own layer with out having to go through the hole seal of creating a new layer shrinking it to fit the brush. then having to drag the new layer to were I want it then having to place the brush.

i installed it shows up in my python i click it, it shows my brushes i choose the brushes BUT it does not load at all and i even try moved all of my brushes to another folder....is it because of the preferences?
