GIMP :: 2.7 - Any Way To Add Multiple Brush Categories
Jan 10, 2013
Chaos and Evolution Brushes
In the link above it says the Chaos and Evolution Brushes are included in GIMP 2.7 and above but all I see are these brushes (see screenshot below).
Are there more brushes in GIMP or is this all of them because I don’t see all of the Chaos and Evolution brushes? Also is there a way to add multiple brush categories?
The photos appear to have retained their keyword tag info but all the sorting into sub-categories and categories has gone as have all the album and smart album data. After all - no self respecting huge software company removes user data and functionality - they must just have omitted to mention what I needed to do in their (less than impressive) help files.
Have PSE 9 and over the years have found have duplicated categories and subcategories and wish to know the best way to Merge and organise them. Also have a huge list of 'Imported Keywords' and not sure how they are formed and how to mege them with the existing categories, sub-categories etc?
I'm using a tablet with gimp and I want to be able to set the brush size for the paint brush and also for the eraser, separately. What happens now is that I'll set the paintbrush size to 10px, paint for a little while, turn the pen over to erase and the eraser will now be at 10px. So I'll adjust the eraser size to something like 50px, erase, turn over, and now the paintbrush is at 50px. Grrrrrrr... I tried creating new brushes for both the paintbrush and the eraser, but there's no brush size option. This is my first time using gimp so I'm probably missing something.
I have a set of brushes from images of similar objects. My ultimate goal would be to combine 3 or 4 of these objects into one brush. So basically, I want to choose a brush, click to stamp, then click again to stamp a different object. Is this possible, to have multiple brushes work in one brush?
i need to draw with different sizes and different tablet pen response settings, sometimes very large others smaller others very small. Is there the possibility to keep all the different settings as like different brushes or styles? or is there an other way to avoid me to go to the the blob brush setting windows each time i need to replace the old settings?
I inserted CAD files and erased them from all views once I no longer needed them, yet some CAD files are still listed in the Visibility/Graphics menu under Imported Categories. Need to just select and delete from the menu, but there is no way to select and delete from the list. How can I simply clear out all imported categories?
After importing a wedding I would like to be able to sort the images into 13 different catagories. EX: Brides, Grooms, Rings, Family etc..... Then on future weddings I can do the sme thing into the same folders to make a collection of each catagory.
How can I repeat the same clone stamp or healing brush marks on multiple images? I often shoot multiple versions of the same still life product and have the occasion to make the same brush strokes on each of a half dozen or so images. Most the time I use clone stamp or the healing brush.
Is there a way to repeat the same brush strokes on multiple images?
In pervious versions of photoshop you could make a path with the pen tool and press esc to basically deselect the path without closing it. This would also allow you to make multiple paths so that you could keep making lines and then stroke them all at once. This no longer works with photoshop CC. Pressing esc just deselects the path but when you try to start a new path it continues the first one. Is there anyway to get this feature back in CC? It is such a waste of time to stroke individual paths instead of drawing all the lines with the pen tool and stroking them all at once.
Explain the logic behind the differences between RVT Categories and how they display in Plan View?
Example:
I made a custom component (Family) that was set as the 'Generic Model'
Category.
When placed, its elevation was set above the Cut Plane but below the Top of the Primary View Range for the Plan View. The Object displayed in its entirety. I then decided that this component was really better categorized as
'Specialty Equipment'. So, I re-assigned it in the Family Editor, and re-loaded it into my Project. As I did this, the object disappeared from Plan View. I then switched to a 3D View to verify it was still present in the model - and it was.
So why does Generic Model Display, and not Specialty Equipment, I ask? I've discovered that if I lower the Elevation of the Specialty Equipment to exist at or below the Cut Plane, but above the Bottom of the Primary View Range; it will display in Plan View. I've also tested and discovered that adding Symbolic Lines to the Plan View of the Specialty Equipment in the Family Editor and re-loading into the Project will not overcome this issue of elevation - if the object is above the Cut Plane the Symbolic lines will not display either.
I note that Specialty Equipment does not have a "Cut" setting for Lineweights in Object Styles, and Generic Model does. Is this the indicator for this display behavior that I'm experiencing? And if so, why is 'Specialty Equipment' regulated to this type of Category? Why not have a 'Cut' setting for it?
Quite a fair bit of an Architectural model gets lumped into this Category:
lockers, toilet accessories, kitchen equipment, medical equipment, etc.
I created schedules inc. cost for Light fixtures, Lighting control etc. For each of the 3 schedules I was able to add the cost (based on the cost I put into the family). The problems I'm having are:
if i show the cost in the schedule view, it will show up on the sheet set. i just want to use if for cost estimating, but not show on the plans (i don't want to manually hide/un-hide all the time when i want to see the cost) - i could duplicate that schedule and hide the cos columns on the one i put on the sheet. but that seems archaic and doubles the number of schedules i don't see a way to combine the cost. Right now I only have 3 schedules and can add those up in my head, but like to automatically do that for many schedules. i know i could export to Excel.. but that takes away the whole "Revise instantly" idea and I want to be able to see right away what cost changes when I add or delete items.
Have successfully imported ‘Places’ sub-categories and tags structure to PS12 from an earlier version but cannot now add to them. How do I insert new sub-categories and tags under ‘Places’? There is no geographic data for existing tags and I am not interested in adding it. Wish to continue as before (there are a lot of tags).
I have just upgraded from Elements 9 to Elements 11. I have converted all my catalogs and all the images appear OK when I open the catalogs. What does not appear is a list of categories and Keyword tags.how I get these to appear.
I was running V8 on an old PC. I got a new PC and downloaded a trial version of V12. It restored my catalog from V8, but I can't find my groups/ categories in the new version.
I have imported a catalogue into a new catalogue using PS8. Thes tags have all been imported as a straight list without any of my categories under 'Imported Tags'. I need the categories. What did I do wrong?
I'm working in AutoCAD 2010 and I would like to make the process of creating 2D documentation easier and faster for myself and my collegues, but during the process I've hit a dead end.
I would like to use fiedds (or something simillar) to partly automate the creation of 2D documentation. We have sheets organized in a specific way and I would like to create a custom field for each of the categories (eg. drawing number, number of parts, designer...) that could be edited easily like the parameters or object properties can. Basically what I would like to do is create custom fields or some other object that can be edited from a list in AutoCAD and then automatically refreshed in text boxes. Is there a possibility to do something like that using fields or perhaps a different solution?
Organizer 11 imported my v.9 category and subcategory tags and converted the people-centric ones into stacks within groups. Sub-category tags still appear present appended to images within the stacks in People mode but are not listed and do not seem accessible in Media mode. Is there a way I can assign these "ghost" tags to an image in the same easy drag & drop way as those listed as keywords in media mode (or make them accessible in media mode)?
I'm aware that Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 is not supported by Adobe anymore. I have thousands of photos organized on it using its "Category" function. Does Photoshop Elements 11 have a similar function? (I'm in the midst of also switching to a new computer and my old one can't load the info on the PS 11 program available on this site.) I'm extremely concerned I not lose the ability to retrieve my pix by the categories I've already assigned them, when I switch to PS 11 on my new computer.
I just upgraded to PSE 12. So now all my organisation folders are under the "keyword" tag. And I have a lot of them. Of course they are organized in folder/subfolders. And the main ones are "places" "events". The same as the default ones in pse.
So is it possible to move categories/directories from the keyword tag to event/place/people tags (drag and drop doesn't work).
re: Adobe Photoshop Elements 12, downloaded to Windows XP in the presence of Photoshop Elements 11 which was then removed. In Photoshop 12 attempt to associate by dragging a photo in the Organizer Media screen elicits message "Error applying Keyword Tags". How can I associate new photos with categories, Keywords? on the left derived from Photoshop 11?
how can I set the standard brush in GIMP? If I start GIMP, it choses a fat brush at first and i have to change it always to a thin brush. How can I tell GIMP, that it uses the thin brush at the beginning?
So I looked up some tutorials on how to do this because I wanted to maybe create some grungey brushes from these photos I took but I can't seem to make a test of what the tutorials tell me to do turn up in my brush palette. I followed both of these tutorials: [URL]. Saved the files as .gbr and .gih (i think is the other one it told me to do) and neither show up with my brushes.
In a related matter, I've never been able to find an option to refresh my brushes, there's no refresh button with the rest of them down the bottom of the palette.
I watched a video on youtube using the brushes but he was able to select Gradients color instead of foreground colour. This made a very nice effect. I'm using gimp 2.8 and I cant find in the Tool Options the same ability to select a Gradient for the colurs used by a brush. Is this gone from the new 2.8 version ?
When i brought up my brushes dock, among the brushes was a little design I had cut out! How it got there but it is definitely not a brush. The drop-down menu for the dock had "delete" but it wasn't active/useable. How to get rid of that non-brush?
I've noticed that one can download brush sets where several brushes are contained in a single file. Is it possible to use GIMP to create one of these files, or is that strictly a Photoshop thing?
