CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 12 :: Double Clicking JPG To Go To Corel Photo
Mar 13, 2012I posted this topic about Corel x4 and got some answers. Unfortunately it didnt work because my corel was corrupt. But now I installed my old Corel 12 and tried to follow the instructions the same way as they told me to do it in Corel x4, but the options are different.
So..... how do i make the settings so that when i double click on an image in corel 12, it will take me directly to Corel Photo for editing.

Apr 26, 2011I need to create a gold bar in the shape of the map of Texas that looks 3D. I need it to look real. I have a pic of a gold bar with the embossed 999.9 and the serial number. I have taken an outline of the map and extruded it so it looks 3D. I cannot figure out how to fill the extrusion with the bitmap. I want to wrap it so it looks like real gold on the front and sides with embossing undistorted. I am using Draw X4.

Dec 5, 2012I would like to know if some users have the same problem : when I vectorize manually a bitmap with the polyline tool of CorelDraw X6, sometimes I have two nodes very close (I don't understand why because I do one click with my mouse...). I change my mouse without improvement.Do you know a macro to clean my polylines and to transform the "double" nodes in a single node (adjusting the gap distance) ? The reduce nodes feature in CorelDraw is not nice to do that.

Jul 25, 2011I am currently using this method, creating a 1-bit bitmap from a grayscale "distress" texture bitmap, choosing transparent fill or outline depending on which area i need trasparent and powerclip it in text or other vector object.
Is there a way to achieve the same distress effect with transparency with FILL ? pattern fill maybe? eg can i save in some format this bitmap to use it maybe as a pattern in pattern fill and retain transparency ?

Mar 9, 2011I’d like to copy an object a distance that I specify on screen. I can see how to copy a specified number of inches, but that is very awkward. You have to measure the distance (horizontal and vertical) and then input the numbers, then click “apply”. Is there a simpler way to do it?
Or is there a way to paste at a specified location? If I do an Edit>Copy then Edit>Paste, it pastes the new object on top of the old one.

After reading your posts here we have tried the following which we find quite annoying for a new program.
Surely this is something simple we have missed. All we have done is installed the X6 and run the program , clicked on a bitmap and nothing ??? This has really left a bad experience especially when we just purchased this program and it cant even edit an image. The customer support was terrible , I had to ring back because the person couldn't hear me about 8 times. It was only a search on the web that led me here.

When I try to use a bitmap effect from the drop down menu (like 3D effects, art strokes, creative, contour etc...) the boxes do not open. I've tried reinstalling the application and it didn't work. I was always able to use these effects on my other computers. Every other menu item I use works. I wish Corel would make something new for MACs

Jan 14, 2012I'm creating a logo that consists of the word DIFFERENT in text and a shape, a dot (an ellipse) that I want to appear above the I and be vertically aligned with I.
How can I do this?The problem is that I can't see how to identify the point in the text - the centre of the I - to act as the target. I can't seem to get any of the Snap to Object tools to work.
I feel that I should be able to mark a specific point anywhere on a shape or an object and use those points to align.
I suspect that I could achieve the effect that I want by splitting the text characters up into individual objects, than I can align them more obviously but then I set up some other issues with kerning.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3 :: Text Within Shape While Precisely Keeping The Shape's Outline
Nov 11, 2011I'm working with CorelDraw X3 and want to fill text into a round shape, while keeping it's exact outline. Hence, cutting of parts of words and letters is fine with me as long as the shape is well-defined. Unfortunately when filling paragraph text into a shape, the automatic line breaks lead to a quite irregular shape regardless of font size.
As workaround I arranged a mask in front of background and text but this requires a square paragraph text which is larger than the background. Since paragraph text obviously cannot be cropped with other objects I made the mask size bigger and filled it white. When exporting my document as image everything looks neat, but there must be a better way to do this in CorelDraw itself?
I tried converting the paragraph text into artistic text and cropping this, which works fine for a few words and a small object. But I'm talking around 1000 words here, and trying to crop this artistic text leads to very random cropping results. I guess such a large number of objects and knots is too much for CorelDraw to handle!?

Just wondering why it made those odd lines coming off of the words and the black bar (I don't know how the heck you guys can post large things, things with motion, etc. I have to make things miniature to put them on here)
I assume it has something to do with how the original, that came from MillerCoors, has those layers of lines in it. I just don't get why lines would then be visible when I changed it since nothing like that has happened before. Oh, and if you are wondering why I converted it, it's because I knew my rip server wouldn't like all that stuff going on in the original

Jul 27, 2011I've got Service Pack 3 which is the latest and greatest and am still finding that I cannot export to any bitmap format even in PhotoPaint. I can save as a .cpt file in PhotoPaint. Sometimes I send out .jpeg proofs and doesn't matter whether it is X5 Draw or PhotoPaint, it crashes.
I do not have this problem when I export the same thing from X4 Draw or PhotoPaint.
I am running XP on a virtualized Windows environment via Parallels desktop for Mac. I have plenty of RAM and hard drive space so it may be because I am not running Windows 7?

Nov 26, 2013If I have a bitmap image that has been cropped to an irregular shape (say a star or pear etc) is there any way in CorelDraw to replace the image without having to crop and position the bitmap all over again. I thought It would be as simple as clicking edit bitmap & pasting the new image once in corel photo paint but that does not seem to be the case.
edit: also is it possible to swap the image with a higher resolution version.

Jul 4, 2011I am using Corel Draw X4 to create stuff to cut on a laser engraving system and am having trouble with the bitmap trace function. For example: I create a line of text. First, I convert it to a bitmap. Then I trace the bitmap using the logo option. After doing this, when I move the text on the page, it appears several of the letters (the tall ones like capital letters and so forth) are missing during the moving process, but when I stop moving it, they appear again.
My problem is when I save the file and then open it in my laser program, these missing letters that are present when I move the text in corel draw translate into missing letters in the laser program, so it seems this is a Corel Draw problem but I don't know how to get rid of it.

Apr 28, 2012I created a bitmap in draw 15" x 131" then right clicked the image and selected "Edit Bitmap". The image grew to 19" X 131"... I did this again just to verify and got the same results. I resamled the image back to 15". This is a big concern as we process all our printed images this way.
