I have drawing template files created by a former employee that need to have the old company logo removed and replaced in the title block. If I double click on the title block, all information displays, except the graphic for the logo. If I explode it, I lose all the .dwt formatting. How can I replace the logo without losing the formatting of the rest of the drawing template?

I have some code to replace the current title block with a title block from a template file. I just don't like how it adds a new title block definition named "copy of titleblock". I'd like to delete or replace the current title block definition so only the newly added one is listed.

I'm just being picky at this point, but I don't want a buildup of title block definitions. We reuse drawings all the time which is why a simple method of updating a title block would be nice. I can just imagine in some years time after a title block update or two there are 20 "copy of copy of copy of .................. titleblock" listed in a drawing file.
I was telling an engineer the other day that I could probably insert his general notes from MS Word into AutoCAD and create nice clean pdf files of the CD sheets that he could email to clients. On second inspection I could tell that, yes I could copy, paste it in, but fixing all the formatting would be a nightmare. Is there any way to retain the formatting such as numbering, tabs etc. when bringing it in to AutoCAD? The idea is to have it be an editable document, so I don't want to just bring it in as a OLE object, pdf or scan.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to copy and paste text in Photoshop CS6 and I am losing the oh-so-valuable formatting. I am referring to two boxes side by side in Photoshop that contain text.
I love the text in the first box, but when I try to duplicate the formatting in the second box right next to it, the text looks completely different. And, when I try to just paste some of the text from the first box to the second box, the 20 px text suddenly becomes 96.3 px text.
Even though I go through all of the formatting options available and duplicate what was in the first box, the text in the second box ends up looking nothing like the first box even though they contain exactly the same formatting, font type - everything.

1.) I am putting an Illustrator logo on a Photoshop web banner graphic. What is the best procedure to apply this to the banner? Right now, I am exporting it from Illustrator to a native Photoshop file with export options as follows:

Maximum editability checked
Anti-aliasing checked
2.) What is the best format to to send to my client if he plans to use this logo for future web use? Simple RGB, or should I output on Save for Web and Devices for other options such as a GIF or PNG-24?
I have an Assembly2 in Assembly1. I'd like to insert Assembly2 to Assembly 3 without losing any constraints or adaptive feature to Assembly1, while Assembly2 replaced with Assembly3.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using inventor 2010 sp1. I have a content center part that I want to replace the family template. I am having problems doing so on random components. Sometimes it lets me and sometimes not. I cannot pinpoint any differences or irregularities between the different library parts.
I am recieving the message indicating..."Import Part Invalid"
Here is my process
Open from content center and save to another folder with or without the same name.
Open Content Editor
right click and replace family template
Recieve this message. "Import Part Invalid"
Note that i made no changes to the file.
I've got an error everytime I try to replace a Family template in my Content Center (I work with Inventor 2011).
I try with a simple part. Here's the steps:
1- Create a simple part (cube with Width, Height and Depth parameters)
2- Create an iPart with 12 members
3- Publish the part in the Content Center
4- Modify the part (add a column in table)
5- Save
6- Open Content Center Editor and click on Replace Family Template
Got the error: "Import Part is Invalid".
I tried "Save As" instead of "Save" and got the same result.
I have created an iLogic panel which allows me to control my revision a lot easier and puts my entered data into the parameters of the sheet itself, is there a way to have this show up on the drawing itself for a template?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently made a new drawing template with ilogic prompts for entering data for all fields within the template. It also sets view sizes etc. I have lots of master drawings, which are reused when sizes etc change for a contract, which i would like to transfer to this new template. Drawing Resource Transfer Wizard does not offer this function.
I could get all drawings in a folder copied to specific sheet size on the master template.As the template will probably be developed further in the future I'm very loathed to do this take manually.
Is there a way to prevent losing annotation in drawings if you make a minor change in the model. For example if you change the size of a W beam you lose all the welds and text associated.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a fairly simple 3D drawing made in Autocad 2012. It has 3D solids all of the same material type.
I want to import it into a 3D PDF. So far I done the following:-
- I have got Adobe Acrobat Pro XI on a free trail basis.
- Open Autocad drawing in Inventor Fusion 2013.
- Save as .step file
- In Adobe select create new PDF.
- Bring in the step file.
My problem is the 3D drawing appears in the 3D PDF but all colours are lost.
I have the following software on my machine:-
Revit Structural 2012 and 2013
Inventor Fusion 2013
Autocad 2012 and 2013
Navisworks Manage 2012 and 2013
Autocad Sketch book designer 2013
Autocad SHowcase 2013.
Is the problem when the file is 'saved as' in Inventor? Or is the problem within Adobe? I have brought in other .step files as a test and they appear normally, but the problem is I don't know what software was used to create them (the step files came externally).
PS I don't use Inventor normally, but we have it as part of the Plant 3D Suite on our machines, so I don't know if there are settings in Inventor that need to be changed.
I have a prob with my system in that when I close a drawing with a 3d view in a viewport and reopen it, I lose the 3D view and it flattens out, maintaining the view but losing all perspective. I can easily restore the saved view, but it is bit irritating.

View 3 Replies View Relatedin Inventor I use my own library with different layers, font types, colors, lineweights etc. In Inventor drawing it works well. But after exporting to DWG only colors of different layers stay the same; all fonts, lineweights change to one (maybe some kind of default) font, lineweight.
How could I repair that, I need drawing in DWG to look like the same as in Inventor. I have tried to use "Configuration" in DWG file exporting option and I have created my own configuration, but it did not work... I simply do not understand how it works. I have a drawing with numerous text fields that I'd like to replace. For example, there are 30 different text fields showing a dimension of 19.298". I need to replace all of them so that they show 19.125" instead. Is there a quick way to swap out the text without having to do it one field at a time? Is there something that would allow me to do it globally rather than individually?

However, having spent some time creating new blocks when running the LSP the points are being replaced at a different location in the drawing - rendering the whole process useless.
I get the impression this is caused by the block itself rather than the LSP. What am I doing wrong that would cause this effect?
