AutoCad :: Convert DWG To Format More Manageable On Computer
Sep 9, 2011
I've got a beast of a CAD file that needs to be converted to something more easily manageable on a computer when opened. It's a 17mb file. There's not much to it, just circles with a solid hatch fill. I've been trying to open it on my computer as I'm typing this thread. My answer for now would be to remove the hatch and re-save the file.
I have a relatively simple drawing that I made in Autocad 2000. It has been scaled a number of times and I suppose this is the reason that the file size has reached 13MGB. This is too large for my email carrier and they will not allow it. Is there a way to reduce the size of this file to something more manageable?
I have downloaded CS6 on two computers Running 10.7.5. I have been operating on CS5 with no problems.Running CS 6 when I open a nef and try to save as it shows png as the save as if I try and change it a jpg it shows as.iff. When I open a tiff and try to do a save as the, format is empty when I click and set as psd it will do the psd. If I try and save as jpg it changes to a .ff file
This is the same thing on both machines.I did try to run pixel bender but it does not operate on cs6. I had akvis lightshop as a plugin but I Got these messages and I Removed it.I still have the stand alone akvis but not the plugin.
I have downloaded the New upgraded Nik software on cs6 on both machines I tried to put a screen shot but this will not accept it [URL]...
Dim AcadApp As Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop.AcadApplication Dim acaddoc As Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop.AcadDocument AcadApp = GetObject(, "Autocad.Application") acaddoc = AcadApp.ActiveDocument Dim DD As Double DD = acaddoc.GetVariable("tdcreate")
I am trying to convert a dwg to eps format for use with Adobe Illustrator. I've tried exporting as eps and using conversion software but the output is incomplete and of poor quality with both these options.
I am not a user of AutoCAD and i am only using it to try and convert the drawings that i have into an excel or csv format.....
I am running AutoCAD 2009 and the drawings are "tables" per say.....with a generic block template from an engineering company, along with text and the company logo.
Is there a way to bring this into excel for easy formatting as i am not an experienced or trained AutoCAD person.....
I have tried downloading and installing the Inventor LT trial twice now but for some reason I keep getting errors and it won't run. convert the attached .dwg files to both .stp and .igs file format?
I import my photos into an external drive, raw format. . My computer has never run so slow. If I process those images, are they somehow on my main computer or still on the external drive?
I have somehow managed to create a monster size picture in MB's. ie my picture is 12x10 with several pictures and a backround etc....but it has somehow got to 871 MBs!!! How do I get that size down to a more manageable size in mbs without losing the quality??
I am trying to convert Store Floor Plans to DXF format for use in JDA software. Problem is, the part number attribute on the fixture (fixture is a block) is visible when you pull the DXF in on the other software. Is there a way to turn off attributes without losing them before I convert the file from AutoCAD? I will be pulling the files back and forth between both software programs.
I am trying to finalize a routine which extracts attributes (created in all CAPS) from a drawing, does a bit of list handling and then will finally write each item of that list to its own line out to a TXT file.
I've had a request from an end-user to change the case of the words in the TXT file from all UPPERCASE to having each Word Capitalized Within Each Item :
i want to convert autocad drawing which indicates water depth data as text into txt format...x reference and y reference and the digital value indicated at the reference in xyz format...
I know you can batch rename in CS2 but what if you just want to change from jpg to tif? I tried it on some test images and thank goodness I did a test first at it didn't work and I couldn't get the images back.
I had 9875 photos that I wanted to convert to the latest DNG format and also include lossless compression and embed fast load information.
I marked all photos and selected 'Convert photos to DNG' from the library menu.
Days went by and the convertion worked almost perfectly.
30 photos can not be converted but Lightroom does not tell me why. Some photos are copies of others and the originals has been converted without problems.
I don't have photoshop or any tools available to me to convert files to CMYK format from RGB. Everything I've tried hasn't worked and I need these done to send them off to be pressed (it's my bands cd cover and cd print).
I've been drawing stuff for web pages that people come back and want to use in larger formats. Like printing on their truck, or business cards, letterheads, or even large banners.
I didn't draw them with that in mind, it's this tiny image that is made for the web and is like 72dpi. So now I have to take these things somehow and convert them to scalable vectors at 300dpi if possible, but I don't know how. How do I take any random graphic (or a handful of layers at once) and convert it to a higher DPI and make it scalable so I can send the large tiff or even the PSD to a graphic printing company who can scale it to whatever size they like and have it still look the same?
Case in point: I am supposed to take a logo and convert it to a basic black and white print to put on their van. So I have to take off gradients and shadows and extra stuff, but I am still left with a graphic at 72dpi and very small in size. All it is, however, is text using a standard font, but I did a custom letter that kind of flows vertically between 3 lines of text. So I have 4 layers, 3 font layers and one regular drawing layer for the custom letter. The only effect I have now in this basic version is an outer glow, with yellow color overlay.
Can I make this scalable AND with effects? Can I just convert all the layers into vector paths somehow? Or is there a way to just make this 300dpi and make it 5 times bigger and look nice?
I'm just not sure how to convert or get this ready for a printer.
I am attempting to convert a proprietary image format to a dng file. What value do I use for the PhotometricInterpretation in my main image if it came from a black and white camera?
I use PS CS5 and LR4 on my Mac. I also have the prior versions of both on the Mac, too. I run the SL OS.
Here's my question: I have about 500 images in .PCD and I want to batch convert them to .TIFF format. Is there a plug-in I can use or should I go to a third party app?
