if i enter 201 valuse to 2nd tag then 1 st tag has to change as 100x100
if i enter 501 valuse to 2nd tag then 1 st tag has to change as 150x510

I am using acad 2010. I have the ability to draw a 3d polyline on the screen with a different xyz value for each vertex using a digitizing puck. I need a lisp routine that will allow me to adjust the z value only (not the x and y values) on any 3d polyline. I just need to raise or lower the z value at any vertex and repeat if nessasary but I don't want to type it in, I want to raise/lower the z using digitizing puck (with z wheel)....example: I draw a 3d polyline which has 9 vertices with different elevations - vertex #6 is 22.6 (too high) in the z value so I need to drop it to 22.4 without typing it in. Vertex #8 is 12.2 (too low) so I need to raise the z to 12.6 without typing it in and using the z wheel on my digitizing puck. Others have tried and but this is a bit complicated and I may have not expressed it correctly.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been having a few 3dpline's with the last vertex being in a different layer. I saw a site mention that this is an AutoCAD 14 bug that could be caused if a program does not end the pline with the layer being set properly before doing a seqend command. If I move the entity to another layer and then back to the correct one it will fix it. Audit in R14 will not show any errors. If I export the file to AutoCAD 12 , audit will detect and fix the problem. I would like to find a Lisp, ARX, etc. that would check for this problem and fix, change color or layer, or whatever.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a program that makes 3d polylines from various data. That 3d pline then gets added to a civil 3d surface as a breakline. I want to modify the pline with my program, but preserve the handle, as I think that is what C3D uses to decide if its part of the surface. I tried this as a sample with no luck:

I know you can modify a vertex, but what about add and delete with entmake and entmod? I also considered using activex for this task, but you can only add verticies from what I could tell in the object browser of VBA, not delete them.
What I will be doing is deleting all the verticies and adding back the correct ones. Or if there was a way to transfer a handle to a new entity after deleting the old, that would suffice too.
Is there a way or a lisp to scale multiple 3d polylines, at same time, and the base point is the start point of each one?

I need to be able to convert "polylines" (as opposed to "2d polylines") to 3d polylines. Here is the issue: the polylines that I want to convert have object data attached to them and they are at the proper Z elevation. When I use the "Convert 2d to 3d polyline" function, the conversion does take place, but all of my object data is removed from the object. And since one of my attributes reflects the overall elevation of the object (which all of the verticies will be the same elevation - even though it will be a 3d polyline), there are too many objects to individually update the attribute information when I am pressed for time.I am working in Civil 3d 2010. Any way to do this using Civil 3d?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a series of boxes or polygones that I would like the program to find the 1/2 distance and create two seperate polylines from the one object.
Example:
I have a square with pt1,pt2, pt3 and pt4 respectively. After I have ran the program it would create a diagonal from pt1 to pt3 and join the rest of the lines now to create the one polyline. Also it would do the same to create another exact polygonal shape for the other half. Thus creating two shapes of equal value from one.
Essentially, I'll be creating a sort of Venn diagram. So for the purposes of this exercise, let's assume it's the classic Venn diagram of three intersecting circles. But I need this to work with closed polylines, that may also have arc segments in them.
Anyway, so I have these intersecting areas, and I need to create bounding polylines for each area, and assess the number of overlaps. So, as in a Venn diagram, the areas where only one circle is present can then get shaded one color, areas where two circles are overlapping can get a different color, and the area where all three circles overlap can get a third color.
I'm clearly going to have to be converting the various boundaries to Regions, and performing some Unions. It seems I could grab all objects, convert them to Regions 2 at a time, and compare their Union'ed area to their individual area, to determine if they overlapped at all. With only the 3 cirlces, that would work, but when I have 35 individual polyline areas with arcs, suddenly this method feels like it will break down.
I work with polylines a lot to maintain Facility Space and I come across polylines that are overlapping. Is it possible to have a routine to find polylines that are overlapping? Sometimes I really have to zoom in pretty close to see if they are overlapping and sometimes it's pretty obvious.

I have many of these blocks placed in a drawing, could you create a lisp that would return the sum of the number value and return it to the command line along with the letter value. I need a function that allows to convert the polylines selected with a width globalize defined in a double closed line (spaced by the same width of the polyline), with a hatch inserted automatically defined.
Brilliant idea to draw raceways quickly: instead of making handmade double lines, connect, enter the hatches all by hand, you could quickly draw the polyline with width identical to the size of the duct, and then the lisp transform it into a duct more aesthetically pleasing if compared to the full polyline!
have a lisp routine that will ask you the starting elevation and the elevation interval, then allows you start selecting polylines and it assigns them new elevations based on your choices?
It seems years ago I had a routine that did this and it also changed the color of the polyline so you could tell which ones you had already changed, but I can't seem to find it now.
Any routine where I could keep picking on my exit arrow blocks (showing how many persons exiting from each space) one-by-one and the program would add up the numbers. For example I pick on blocks with numbers of 2, 4 & 3 and I would get 9.

Then somehow find the smallest and largest pline area to determine the range values (rounding up to a sensble number)
Then with the ranges determined the polylines would be segregated and moved to new layers.
I've been trying to hobble together pieces but with no joy.
Here's my situation:
I have a block named "WIDGET-A". And in that block are (4) attribute tags whose names are:
"ID"
"TAG01"
"TAG02"
"TAG03"
The user will be prompted to pick the value displayed at any of the "TAG##" attributes - they will select the attribute tag they want (we don't know which one it is, we just want to assign that value of the attribute tag they clicked on to a variable called "VAR2".
Now, what we also want AutoCAD to evaluate, behind the scenes, is the value of the attribute tag named "ID" which we know always exists in the block and then assign that value to a variable called "VAR1".
Is there a way for AutoCAD to do this all from only a single user pick on top of an attribute value, in a block whose name isn't always going to be 'WIDGET-A' either.... But the block, whatever it's name, will always have the attribute tag "ID" with a value in it, and we always want to capture the value of whatever attribute tag within the block that the user clicked on.

This time I'm wrestling with getting the values from multiple blocks. The blocks all have the same name but at least the attributes have names this time. Each block have exactly 4 attributes, like: att1 (a number representing chronological order), att2 (some data), att3 (the actual date as a string of when the data was added), att4 (some more data)
I need to get and store the attribute's values. I was hoping to make a selectionset of the blocks and step through using the chronological order number.
At this point I have tried several combinations of foreach and ssget "x" (list (cons 2 MYBLOCK)), but I keep getting errors that I'm sure are telling me that I'm not passing the correct information to the function for iterating through. I'm banging my head.

I often have DXF files that contain very many short (10 digits or less) instances of text, and only a few long instances of text (11 digits or more)....
I would like to use AutoLISP to delete all of the short text in my DXF file, but leave the longer text.
I need a lisp sub-function that can empty all attributes of a specified dynamic block. The idea being that the specified block contains data that changes often and in order to repopulate the block's attributes with new data to replace the old I wish to just blank out the old data first, because it's possible that the new data may not utilize as many attributes and all of the old data must be removed.
The thing is the block I'm after is on several layouts, CTABs and they all need to be wiped clean.
I have an interesting challenge. I am tasked with updating old drawings. The only difficulty that I've run into with the old files are that the TitleBlocks are all done with all of the attributes are named "SPEC". There are 90 attributes. I'm really struggling with getting each attribute's value and then storing the value to a variable so that I can then put that value into a new TitleBlock. The old TB will be deleted to avoid future confusion in the file.
(To clearify, the old TitleBlock is in model space, while there are actually nine new TitleBlocks all in seperate paper space Layouts, and this program may have to run on hundreds of files.)
getting the values from the Old TB. I need them in order of first to last or last to first (either way will work since I have the variable names in a list that can be reversed if necessary.)
