in the BOM - drg environment - if the part does not have a company part number (file name usually) then it should read out the bought out parts part number -supplier number.
What is the logic of having two differnt file size for the same document? One size for a closed document and one size for an open document. The example show a file size of 63.3M open document and 96.1 MB closed document. When discussing file size what is the official size, open size or closed size?
What is the logic of the work of the proximity match of the healing brush? How is it work? What is it being done on pixels? is it using the neighboring pixels?
I've been trying to extract the logic behind Xara's handling of multi-stage blends, but am having trouble.
Here's an example. I have these objects:
and create a blend between the left two
now, to continue with a multi-stage blend, I connect the bottom control point of the second object with the bottom control point of the third
All well and good. However, if I had tried to connect the top point of the second object with the top point of the third, like this (screenshot taken just before I release the mouse button)
Xara decides to blend from the first object to the third.
Eventually, by trial and error, I can get my multi-stage blends working, but it's inscrutable why it works logically sometimes, and why not.
I have created an iLogic panel which allows me to control my revision a lot easier and puts my entered data into the parameters of the sheet itself, is there a way to have this show up on the drawing itself for a template?
Setting up a tabulated ipart drawing template. Which is better...one drawing file with a table or individual drawings for each tabulation? Also does one method work better than the other when introducing vault?
I've recently made a new drawing template with ilogic prompts for entering data for all fields within the template. It also sets view sizes etc. I have lots of master drawings, which are reused when sizes etc change for a contract, which i would like to transfer to this new template. Drawing Resource Transfer Wizard does not offer this function.
I could get all drawings in a folder copied to specific sheet size on the master template. As the template will probably be developed further in the future I'm very loathed to do this take manually.
I would like to know if there is a way to insert drawing no.1 into drawing no.2 (not copy sheets!) so that if I change the drawing no.1, the drawing no.2 (the one that contains no.1) also updates.
That is because I would like to have one part of the drawing that is ''standard'' and multiple drawings that contain this part (so that this part is defined in all drawings but is always the same). Because I don't want to have a separate drawing for the ''standard'' part, but only drawings that contain it.
I did a 3D model on inventor, and now I need the drawing from the model, it is a simple axle, but I really can not figure how to do it. I have looked around, but I failed in finding an awnser. I am sure it is very simple,
I am using Inventor Pro 2010.I have a model and I am driving the dimensions from EXCEL. The model updates nicely when I change dimensions but the drawing (idw) does nothing. In the browser instead of the usual tree in the view there is this red lightning bolt and under them is a big plus (+) sign and the words Solid.... after it.I was assuming that the lightning bolt meant something needed updating, but I can't find how this is done.
I have problems with exporting a Inventor drawing to dwg autocad drawing, the message I get when a try is: Cannot open XML file: c:....Inventor 2014/InventorCustomization.xml.
I have a situation where I have my master BOM that is shown on sheet 1 of my drawing that represents everything shown on the drawing. What I am running into is I have to detail a couple of sub-assemblies as details on the drawing.
What I do is bring in views from that sub assembly seperate from the main assembly, but the problem is those items dont show up in the main BOM. I end up having to drag in a second BOM that I place off of the drawing sheet as well as adding line items in the main BOM to represent these components in the sub assembly. Then manually change the items numbers in the second BOM to match the iotem numbers in the main BOM. What I would like to know is if it is at all possible to link the two BOM's together so I can change the item numbers in the main BOM and it funnels down to the second BOM.
I cannot seem to install the SDK Drawing tools with Revision Cloud. When I click the msi file, the installer says it was successful, but I cannot find it on any INV ribbon and it is not shown in the list of available add-ins in Add-In Manager. Really need that revision cloud!
Inventor 2011, Win7 64bit.
I can load it on our Inv2011 32 bit WinXP machines, however.
When I try to open this drawing I get this error "Internal error in persistence operation (Can't load segment PmBRepSegment via a RSeRef when loading segment DLSheet35DLSegment)".
Is there a recover command in Inventor 2012 similar to the recover feature in Autocad?
I'm working on a Isometric drawing and im trying to dimension the view. I keep the original view there and cut another of the same view and place that cut view over the original, so I have something to snap to while dimensioning.
Every time i go to place the cut view over the original and i always grab the wrong view and move it and I am wondering if there is a way to pin the original view in place permanently?
I was wondering how everyone uses drawing numbers on their part and assembly drawings? Do you use the part names or drawing numbers to keep track of everything? And do you save the parts with their names or with a number? We are currently restructuring all our processes.
I'm trying to add a new unit's type for a specific drawing.
Is there any way to add one with its corresponding calculation parameter?
Under the "Style and Standard Editor" Panel i cannot modify it.
The End result is to display a " Symbol after the first Units instead of the in unit (see enclose picture that i manipulated to display the end desired result).
I'm using ilogic to cycle through my drawing views & save each view as a .jpg. Problem I am having is that it saves basically a screen-shot instead of just the sheet, so my background comes through along with the sheet. Reading some earlier posts I've learned that this is by design and can't be changed. That said, what I would like to do is have ilogic manipulate the zoom distance, & centering the sheet in my view in height & width bringing each sheet to a consistant point just before saving as .jpg. I'm embedding the images into an Access database table. If I have the images at least saving the paper space on a consistant scale, I can simply crop out the undesired portions within my Access report.
I've recently had an issue when attempting to export to PDF from a drawing in Inventor Professional 2013 64-bit. The completed pdf is missing random characters in the dimensions, title block, etc. I've attached an example of this issue, which is now affecting all of my new drawings (the boundaries on the attached PDF are a little wonky from where I redacted).
What's funny is that this began suddenly, I have been using "Export to PDF" to produce dozens of drawings since AI 2013 was released. The only thing different is that I'm using a custom title block (hard-coded, no parameters) instead of the default. The machine is Windows 7 64-bit.
Cant figure this out - I create a sketch in a drawing, but I cant see the lines as I'm drawing them. The lines are on a "solid" layer set to red as defined in my standard. The background of my drawings is black. When the line command is done, the line appears and it's red. Problem is I cant see it as I'm sketching. Is there any way to modify this? Can I have the line appear red (or white) as I'm sketching?

I have a few assemblies setup that are controlled with a bunch of iLogic rules to modify all related parts when parameters are changed at the assembly level. I also have an opening message that pops up when the assembly model is opened (After Open Document trigger) to tell people how to use the parameters to make modifications.
Now, when this assembly model is placed into a drawing I am getting random pop ups of the opening message when placing views of additional models in the same drawing. If you open the drawing and try to place a base view of another model, Inventor stops to think for a minute or so before having the opening message of the iLogic controlled model pop up. The only event trigger for this message is "After Open Document" and the model is not being opened; why it is being triggered in the drawing and/or how to make it stop?
Is there a way in an inventor drawing rule to do a "save as" which saves the drawing as an Inventor dwg file rather than an AutoCAD dwg file?
The below saves as AutoCAD which is ok but I need the outputted drawing to be linked to the model. I don't want the code to save the entire assembly as this is done further down the line. I also don't want to save the current inventor dwg drawing from which the rule is run as this is just a template drawing.
