I am using autocad civil 3d viewport. I am creating view frame. Even I try to edit my label location through viewport double click edit. It will reduce label size 25.4 times.
View 5 RepliesOn the Marker Tab of my point style, I set the Marker Size to 0.05".
Then on the Summary Tab, under the Marker Node, the Point Marker Size shows 0.004". If I change that to 0.05, like I have it on the Marker Tab, the point marker becomes huge. Why aren't these two settings the same?
Another question. When I reduce the Marker and Label sizes, the label doesn't "suck in" to the marker. How can I bring the label closer to the marker without dragging it?

The label associated to a grading point when is moved when is moved changes its size automatically and a leader appears. After this happen no control over the grading point and its associate label. refer to the image below.
View 1 Replies View Relatedam in the process of setting up a standard file for all designers to use our local office. This file will have most of the styles created for profiles, alignments, surfaces, profile views, etc... as mostly specified by the customer and industry standards.
I am having trouble maintaining the correct annotation scale in the viewport in paperspace and when plotting.
The attached word document has 3 figures. Fig 1 shows the correct viewport scale and correct annotation scale. Fig 2 shows how the annotation scale abruptly changes during the plotting process. This abrupt annotation scale change sometimes happens during the regen process or when I switch from layout to model space and back to layout.The annotation scale goes from 1:1 to 1:40 just as in the viewport. This change in annotation scale is not supposed to happen because I want to preserve a certain plotting height for my text versus a viewport scale by using various annotation scales.
I have researched the procedures for annotation scale and have not found any info related to this "abrupt change in annotation scale".
Curiously , this abrupt change in annotation scale does not happen if the text does not belong to any styles within Civil 3D. Stand alone text stays at the correct annotation scale and is not affected in the same way.
This is issue arises when i have been working on a drawing for a while with multiple xref/data shortcuts. The model space text is all the correct size yet once I enter a layout the annotative text relating to 3D elements such as Alignments/Profile Station/Elevation Labels shrink to 1/25 their size. Other annotative objects such as Mtext and Multileaders are not effected. Attached are before and after pictures.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been tinkering with text sizes in model space and would like to have my point numbers consistent regardless of zoom factor. I can do this in paper space (viewports) as the annotative scale controls the appearance, but for doing analysis of points at various zooms in model space, it would be nice to be able to Regen and have them all come to a certain text size.
I've made some expressions that are modifications of those I use in paper space, but I can't seem to find a function/variable that I can reference for this purpose.
I am having trouble getting my Civil3d line labels to adjust with the annotative scale.
View 4 Replies View RelatedC3D 2013. We have profile line labels, some of which get manually edited (for example, change the "<[Tangent grade(FP|P2|RN|AP|GC|UN|SD|OF)]>" to a static number such as 0.29%).
However, if you CTRL+Click and select one of these labels and change the style of that one label, then the manual edits are lost and the label reverts back to the default string.
Is there any way to turn this behavior off?
Is there a way to "Edit Label Text" in a Parcel area label? Similar to the way you can edit it in other styles.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWe use ACAD2013 at our office. we use xref files of other dept. to create our drawings. We mainly do piping drawings and use quiet a few blocks for fittings and equipments.
The file sizes up to 30MB and sometimes even more. Purge ( all options ) and audit were done but of no use to reduce size. Even deleted unused anno scales.
I'm trying to label my Profile label stations as raw stations, 20~20 meters, and I'm not being able to adapt the format to STATION 0, STATION 2, without any plus zeros or +, or -, or commas, or anything, as following in the image.
Is there a easy way to do it?
When I copy a viewport in a layout it does not create another viewport, only a poly line.....

I have a relatively simple drawing that I made in Autocad 2000. It has been scaled a number of times and I suppose this is the reason that the file size has reached 13MGB. This is too large for my email carrier and they will not allow it. Is there a way to reduce the size of this file to something more manageable?

when i bind the xref's the file size is increasing up to 50mb. the size of the file before binding is 4.5mb. i tried all the options whic ppl given in the discussion here. purged(all regeapps,zero txts etc.),wblock even some lisps. but all in vain. even i tried to audit but it took 2hrs and nothing happened. this dwg containing only lines poly lines, blocks, txts etc. no images and not even dence hatches also. 1500 drawings like this. i have to submit the softcopy soon.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing with a viewport that fits to the page. And I created another smaller viewport over top that just shows the legend. Now when I try to double click inside the smaller viewport it always goes into the larger one. I have tried bringing the smaller one to the front but that didn't work. I know that I can clip the larger viewport around the smaller one or bring the legend right into paperspace or slid the smaller one off to the side work in it and slide it back. This is more out of curiosity of how to get into the smaller viewport.

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo in an effort to reduce PDF file size, I went to the dwg to pdf.pc3 plot driver and wen tot he custom properties. The dpi is set to:

I dropped the top number to 400 and the stucco hatch and AR-Sand hatch both print weird when we print to PDF. Some of the hatch is fine, some comes out too dark. It's pretty weird. If I leave the settings as the default then it prints perfectly fine.
Why those hatches might be affected by dropping the dpi? Everything else appears to print great and the file size is reduced.
Is it possible to pin a label to another label ? Or pin a label to an object so that when the first label (or object) is moved, the other moves with it ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to reduce the drawing file size. This is for uploading the drawings to AutoCAD WS. AutoCAD WS doesn't display or edit a drawing that is over 15MB. Unfortunately some of our drawings are over 15MB even after I have removed the background and others and have purged. I believe the reason why a drawing can be so big has to do with each object (grouped object) has a ton of information on it. For example, the properties of a typical object is like this:

You can see from above that the list of properties are huge. All I really need are the visible parts of the object. This means most of the info above are junk.I try to reduce the size of object by exploding all the objects on the drawing. This sort of work in the sense that the file size of a test drawing is reduced from something like 8MB down to 6MB. But I am expecting far more reduction than this. The reason why I expect far more reduction is that the total number of lines of the exploded items of the same object mentioned above is reduced from 3000+ lines to only 300 lines as shown below:

Therefore, I am expecting a 10-to-1 reduction, not just a 1/4 reduction.I am wondering there may be hidden data on the drawing that are left behind after I have exploded the objects. if there is a way to get rid of the hidden data?
