We recently purchased the bldg design suite premium, so we have autocad, autocad mep, autocad structural detailing, and autocad architecture.By default, .dwg files open with the vanilla autocad application. How can we change the default program for .dwg files to autocad architecture?

View 22 Replies View RelatedI have my projects in their own folders. When I start a new project, I copy an older project folder and paste to start a new project. I do this so i don't have to start modeling from scratch each time. The problem when i do this is i have to change the name and part number of each file to correspond to the new project number. This takes more time than i would like to spend doing it so is there a program that will let me do this in bulk? (change the part number of all the files through their iproperties) I typically have to use the design assistant and change the part number of each .ipt file one by one.

We just upgraded from '12 to '13, I am trying to find ways to set a font to default, but am unable to find a way that fits how we operate here. My boss likes to do things a certain way, so I have to make sure whatever I do falls within his parameters.
Anyway: I have read a number of articles about people saying to just change your template settings and save it. We don't, however, use a template. I guess we could start (if he let me), but all we do now is copy another x-ref or architecture page or what-have-you, save it in a new file, and go from there.Â
I also think I may have messed up my computer by trying to use fontalt. Now every time I start my machine up, it asks me to specify the fontalt. How to turn that off?
But the main thing: is there a way to get a default font setting to affect all of our files at once? If I go to "style" I can change every page at a time, but that gets lengthy. Was assuming there should be one change that does everything.
we've been having with this upgrade is that our font - which had been some version of architxt.shx - has been set back to simplex. And we don't really use templates at all... when making a new drawing all we do is copy an old one. I'm getting the gist that templates are an under structure to the drawing, but I wouldn't be able to tell you which template informs all of our drawings, because quite simply we don't use and have never changed one.
Is there some way to globally affect all of our drawings - both new and old - so that everything is using the same text? I believe my coworker did something with a path/string in the options menu, but I don't know what, and am not about to mess with that without some definitive belief that I'm doing the right thing! Currently, if I want to print out a set in the font we want, I have to "style" change every single drawing. Obviously, there's got to be something better.
How do I change a specific file type association in Bridge CS5, namely the .psd file type? I had installed Photoshop CS6, but am unable to use it due to extreme slowness (another problem, not for this question). I have reverted to using Photoshop CS5 and Bridge CS5.

Now when I double-click on a .psd file in Bridge CS5 to open it (or right-click on the .psd file) , the file opens up in the glacially slow CS6. I went to edit> preferences>file type associations to change the association to Photoshop CS5, but .psd is not listed as a file type (.jpg and .dng and a host of other file types are listed). How can I change the association if I cannot find the file type? (BTW: I have changed the file type association in Windows Explorer; I am running Windows XP.) I know I can open PS CS5 manually and scroll to the image I want to open but, to my mind, that defeats one of the main purposes of Bridge.
I have Windows 7 64 pro installed. Tried the CC on Windows 8 64bit pro and they didn't play well together. Windows 7 seems to work fine. Good enough. So, I have the 64 bit version of PS CC pinned to the taskbar. When I click on it, it opens right up. Then if I go to Lightroom 5 and open a file, it opens right up in Photoshop CC 64 bit. However, if PS is not open and I open a file from lightroom, Photoshop CC 32bit opens. Not what I want.

Ok, so you say go the defaults menu and change the default opening program? Doesn't work. Switches right back to CC 32bit.
I do not have a default email program associated with this progam,and to set one up....how do I set up a default email program for this corel paint shop pro? then it says if i do have an email default to use that as a default...everytime i try to send it, my windows live email comes up, but it wont allow me to send it...jsut says fails and its keeps saying aol failed..., which is not the default....

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am working on AutoCAD 2014 and every time I receive and open a new file from our collaborators in Italy, the file units "turn into" inches.
This means that I have to go to Drawing Utilities, Change the units to cm, and then have to Scale everything so that the measurements make sense again.
I've gone into OPTIONS and have set CM as thed default measurements, but this problem persists. I know that the office in Italy can't possibly be working in inches, so I'm assuming there's something that's "lost in translation" when it comes to opening the file on my end.
I have PSCS4 and trial PSCS6. All my RAW and PSD files open by CS6 by default now. I want PS CS4 open PSD and RAW by default, as it used to, since CS6 is only trial.

I can open files by right clicking and chose PSCS4, (indicated as Adobe Photoshop CS4.app (11.0.2(11.0.2x20100519 [20100519.r.592 2010/05/19: 02:00:00:00 cutoff; r branch])) That arm long name for CS4 appeared after I installed CS6.

I am new to the PrintShop ProX4 family. I just purchased my first PSPX4 software, even though I have been using AfterShot for quite sometime. My question is, how do I prevent PSPX4 from being my default program for viewing images and or pictures attached to my emails.
Prior to purchasing and installing PrintShop ProX4, all my pictures attached to my emails would open up under my Windows photo gallery. But now, they open up under my PrintShop Pro X4 program and since I am still learning the PSPX4, I would like to convert back to the Windows photo gallery.

CS3 is the default external editing program Lightroom 5 chose to use to open files during initial setup, which causes selections such as "Open as Smart Object or Merge to Panorama" to be grayed out. View 2 Replies View RelatedThe table in the Help that lists suggested cleanup priority values for various wall components does not include sheathing. The table lists 900 as the index for siding, but I assume that's a different number from sheathing. If I have steel studs, then 1/2" sheathing, then 2" rigid insulation, then 3/4" strapping, then wood siding, the priority number for sheathing should be higher than the studs, and lower than the rigid insulation, strapping, and siding, right? 500 for the studs, 600 sheathing, 700 rigid insulation, 800 for strapping (which could also be considered an air gap), 900 for siding?

When I use the File Open dialog box, for example, I always want it to be bigger so I drag the corner to enlarge it, but the next time I call it it's back to the same default size. I have an annotative text style I use for everything. I have the height set to 0 in the style. In MTEXT the height always defaults to 1/4" which I never use. Is there a way to make it default to 1/8" text? It is annoying to have to have to change it every single time I use mtext.
The height is usually the paper text height but sometimes within a viewport the height is the model space height instead of the paper height. I don't know why it is different in some viewports but I would like to have it consistant.
I just installed PSE12 and want it to be the default program to open my jpg files. I know how to set defaults on a PC but the program does not even come up on the list of defaults. I've tried right-click on image and "open with" but no PSE12. If I use Browse and follow the path Program Files (x86)/Adobe/PSE12/PSE Editor.exe, there is no exe file, only the application. If I select PSE Editor, it does not make it the default.

I find now that when I double-click a gif file (and I think some other types) it is opened with Corel Instant Viewer rather than Microsoft Office 2010. I want Office to be the default viewer, so from Windows Explorer I right-clicked the gif file, selected "Open with..." then "Select default program", then Microsoft Office 2010, and checked "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file", finally "OK". The file then opened with Office. However the next time I double-clicked the same file, it opened once more with Corel Instant Viewer.
The procedure I followed has worked in other cases, so I don't understand why it doesn't work now. Is there any way of preventing Corel Instant Viewer from being the default viewer short of uninstalling it?
