View 2 RepliesIm struggeling with creating a code that opens a certain Excel spreadsheet and retrieves / inserts info.
the spreadsheet is a list containing part numbers for purchased components, therefore the list must be filled with information from iproperty. But it has to be where the next available number is. i had this working in iLogic, but have to move it to VBA for better use. the code that worked in iLogic is this one.:

If possible it would be nice if the code at the same time retrieves the new partnumber and saves the active part as this part numeber...

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs this functionality still available. I have seen several threads that mention it being available on some people layer manager, but I don't have it on either. See attachment. I remember there being a registry key you could add or change to the tools, but when I did that I always got two errors in drawings that would appear every audit.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to export my annotation settings using the profile function on Autocad 2010. I can't get it to work, and I don't think this is the best way to achieve my goal. I've made a template file, but I don't know how to import it.
My goal is to, as quickly as possible, give 8 drawings the same annotation settings.
I have a Global Form in 2013 that I want to get into 2014. I cannot seem to export it from the iLogic browser, not can I edit it in the editor.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIt used to be that when you selected a ployline onscreen you could set properties for the line in the properties dialog. With this version of ACAD, if the polyline is not of uniform width on all sections then the global width option is missing from the options dialog.
I know that you can now right click and go polyline/width but i suppose i have been doing this a certain way for so long and now i cant and its annoying.
Working in Autocad 2011, PC version. My drawing has blocks that contain (1) visibible and editable attribute. Also contain (4) invisible and constant attributes. I need to update text information in the (4) invisible attributes. Using BATTMAN seemed the easiest way to do this, but when "Sync" ing the changes, the rotation angle/placement of the Visible attribute changes globally in the drawing.
(Many of the Visible attributes location were adjusted to prevent overlapping with other drawing lines.
How can I update text values of invisible attributes without rotating/adjusting the placement of my visible one?I've tried -attedit & attredef - neither of them did what I needed.
I found a issue that vba reads bom in different way when I tried to export bom to excel. here is the routie i am using for BOM. I am using inventor 2012 sp1, window 7 sp1 and excel 2007
1. create a assembly with bom structured view enabled.
2. open BOM editor in structured view tab. sort BOM by part number, and renumber them from 1,2,3....
3. save and exit.
4. in vba, i used code below
For Each oRow In oStructuredBOMView.BOMRows
Set oDoc = oRow.ComponentDefinition(1).Document
On the export bom excel sheet, the item order is different from BOM in assembly file. on the excel sheet, the order of item number is same before sorting and renumber BOM. It seems to me that BOM editor didnt remember sorting and renumber.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am currently working on a project where I am taking a lot of Autocad Attributes and Exporting them to an excel file so they can be referenced in a table of contents type of manner. My question is if there is a way to have excel automatically update the tables after changes are made to the autocad file. This file is an ever changing thing so going back and running through the entire "Eattext" command and re exporting and overwriting the existing file is very tiresome, especially when I am adding and deleting attributes daily. Is there a VBA program I can run to accomplish this task, I have fairly limited VBA skills and haven't written in VBA for years. I am fairly new to exporting autocad attributes to excel . I attached a very simplistic example of the general Idea of what I am trying to accomplish.

i've been asked to provide a way for some cad employees to update via an export to an excel spreadsheet the latest area total for each room in the drawing. my assumption is the spreadsheet will already contain a column for room numbers from the drawing and a room area column.
so far i've found out how to iterate the drawing layers. what i have yet to figure out is how to capture the room area property on the layer so i can copy it into the excel cell that matches with the captured room number from the drawing. is there a way to access the geometry of the particular layer?

I run into the issue of the items inside a Weldmant assembly is not being exported. Yet I am able to create a structured multilevel partslist on my drawing showing all the items inside the Weldment.
Whats strange is that even if I change the Weldment assy’s BOM structure to Normal, it still does not make a difference. Is there a way to get the items of a Weldment into my BOM Rows object so that it will export? Whats strange is that if an assembly is set to “Inseparable” but is not a weldment then it exports the contents.
