One message is "Pain't cannot read this file. This is not a valid bitmap file or it's format is not currently supported." Couldn’t display DSC-0023.jpg because a suitable graphics importer could not be found.

We have an iMac workstation here running Premiere that will not open projects or import clips. Here's the sequence of events that led to this:
1. Premiere was locking up on the splash screen whenever it got to "ImporterQuicktime.bundle". I tried trashing preferences and launching with plug-ins disabled and received the same freeze. Based on forum recommendations I removed "ImporterQuicktime.bundle" and "ExporterQuickTimeHost.bundle" from the plug-ins folder inside the package. The software launched fine - but none of the Quicktime files in the project were working. So I then took copies of the above 2 files from the iMac next to this one, with the exact same configuration, and pasted them into the plug-ins folder. Since then - launching the software has generated the below errors.
2. Attempting to open any project gives a long error that starts as: The preset used by one or more sequences in this project requires third-party components that could not be located.
3. Starting a new project and attempting to drag any Quicktime ProRes media into the project gives the error: File Format not supported.
I have trashed the preferences, re-installed the Pro Apps Quicktime Codecs, de-authorized the computer and re-authorized it, and upgraded Adobe Premiere from 7.0 to 7.2. None of which fixed the issue.
I'm thinking about trying a complete re-install of Premiere next.
Here's the details:
Premiere Pro CC 7.2
Mac OS 10.8.5
iMac late 2012 model, 32Gb RAM, 2Gb video card
I exported a swf file to my computer, which i made with Xara designer 10. I would like to re-edit the file but don't know how to open it again in Xara. How do I do that?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm putting the finishing touches on a painting I've been working on using PSE4 and Xara Pro 7, and I've run into a problem: Xara won't open the image. The image is in TIFF. The error code I get is this: 0ee3d87d-4061-4c60-ad08-89d82ea87ffc. I've been able to open previous versions of the image in Xara. This image has a lot more detail, so I wonder if file size is this issue?

If I am opining a file (double-click on it to open) and I don't have all the fonts that may have been used in the file, then I get a message telling me so, but, I cannot click on the 'Continue' button to do so.
Designer is simply frozen, no matter how long I wait. I can click on all sorts of things but nothing happens.
I have to CTRL+ALT+DELETE to shut down Designer.
If I have Designer open already, then sometimes I can click on 'Continue' but not always.
Is there a way to create a .avi file in Photo & Graphic Designer 7?
I want to create an animation (not an animated .gif) that I can then include in a movie. I see how to set the properties for an AVI file but when I try to export the animation, I do not see the otption to save my file as a .avi. Am I missing something or is there a better alternative for creating an animation that can be included in a movie file?
I have the latest version of Photo and Graphic Designer 9, and I have two .eps files that I cannot open because when I try to open them directly or import I get an error message that says that there is an error detected in the EPS file at line ####. These are files that I purchased and downloaded, and presumably they should not have errors. I don't have other software that is meant to open EPS files, so I cannot verify personally, but I do have reason to assume they are valid files. I saw this post that mentioned the same type of problem -

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am a game coder/artist using 3ds Max. To date, I have used very simplistic methods of making character skins. I need to step it up a notch and start making more realistic (human) skin textures for humans models in this game I'm working on.
I have been searching the web for several days on this topic and finding little luck. Here are the problems I am encountering:
1. Most skin tutorials for cgi I've found are for high-res, pre-rendered images in Max or Maya ,and not for games. They use several shaders and bump maps and complex multi-texturing that I cannot use in a game.
2. I found one fairly decent skin making tutorial but it used a clouds effect that really only works for light-skinned characters. I tried to modify for darker skin characters and it looks really bad.
3. In general, I have not found much for this at all on the web.
I am a software developer. I've spent a lot of time in the last few years building crazy GUIs for a simulation product. I had previously discovered Xara Xtreme for doing software design illustrations and other documentation, so I decided to try using it for making icons and graphics for GUIs. We had some pretty old graphics in our system from 15 years ago, so the bar was pretty low. I was able to teach myself some basic techniques and I think I did a fair job at tremendously improving our graphics. We have artists, but they are generally doing 3D models for the simulator, not GUI graphics.
Anyway, I was very impressed with what even a motivated but untrained programmer could do with Xara. Constantly having to export bitmaps was a bit of a pain, though. What I really wanted was to be able to draw the graphics I had designed in Xara directly in my software, and I wanted to do it on the mac.
There was many a stumbling block, but I managed to be able to draw all of the geometry correctly and I have also implemented solid and linear fills. No shadows, contours, bitmaps, molds, text, effects, etc. I got frustrated with Quartz because it could not render every fill case. I also got frustrated with the Xara spec that was obviously out of date and had many omissions in it.
My initial goal was to write a card game that used vector graphic cards in Xara format. My renderer can actually draw everything I need for decent looking but basic card designs, but I wanted to round out the feature set a bit more and support more effects like edge feathering, more fills, shadows, text, etc. I did one drawing of a court card from a pack of Bicycle Cards, and then I did some research on playing card artwork and bought a pretty old deck of cards with some of the original designs that modern cards are based on. I did one drawing from that deck as well. As I understand it, as long as I don't copy the back, the Ace of Spades, or the Joker designs I'm ok from a copyright perspective. These cards are so old they are probably beyond copyright anyway. Furthermore, the printing techniques back then were so imprecise that my end result is more of an interpretation of the original than a copy.
I have a psd file that apparently has an unsupported color scheme (not rgb or hex) for WD7. How can I open and work with this file? Its 3MB and I want to create a smaller web friendly image that fits my site header area.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a high resolution version of a low resolution texture used in a game. I've found a pattern that I think is acceptable, from a real image. Now the question is this: how can I colorize the large image to that it is as resemblant as possible to the original one? I've tryed a simple colorize, but the result is not so good...

After recently installing Corel Draw 12 we discivered we could not open our existing .cdr files. It would make sense if we were trying to open V:12 files with an V:5 but it seems like V:12 should support V;5 .cdr files.

What is the easiest way to open/import SVG files in Xara Designer Pro?
It's funny you can export as SVG but I cannot find SVG format when importing graphics.
My current workaround is to open SVG files in Illustrator, select, copy, jump over to Xara and paste as enhanced metafile. But what if I don't have Illustrator?
When ever I export to PDF from Designer Pro 7 a graphic ends up in the PDF file that isn't any where in the Xara doc. It happens on most files exported from Xara but not all. It also happens on both my laptop and my desktop PC. I'm pretty sure it used to happen in WD6 so it may stem from there.
I've attached a PDF exportd from Xara, you shouild hopefully see two black.. um.. cartoonish feet / foot prints. God knows where they came from, I must have imported them at somepoint. You should also notice they only appear on the first page of a document.
I've tried searching for just outlines in Designer pro but nothing.
Is there an .INI file or cache file I can clear?
I haven't tried a re-install yet as it happens on two PC's so can't see it being that.
does the new xarapro have a linked feature for placing 300 dpi images into a 50-60 pages? If not, is it even possible to have that many pages with those numbers of large size pictures? Just wanted to know if others have done such a thing. Also if possible, can a large document be divided into number of xara files and then exported as pdf and put together in adobe acrobat to make a large output for printers?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI noticed that when exporting a trifold to PDF, that a transparent PNG file contained in the design, actually has an opaque background, not transparent. I have used Commercial Printing as the export mode and played a little with custom settings.

It works as I would expect in Designer Pro X.Is there a setting I've missed somewhere?
When I make a brush how can I save it for other projects. I have tried saving it with a template but it is gone next time I open the template.

how do you change the tool bar buttons to small buttons? The options are all greyed out! I am old but not that blind yet. This is a work stoppage, and abandon software problem for me.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI noticed that animated gif that I put into other web builders load fine, show cleanly.Yet when put into XDP6, the same graphics get a ghosting effect. In other words, after letters have cleared the screen, a remaining unintended outline remains. The graphics are clean in previews, viewing directly, using other web builders, or on other sites built with other software.
Today I visited the New Features page for X3D7 and had the same issue with the gif on that page too. (attached screenshot for reference)I am using win7/64bit, 8gb ram, hi-speed internet connection, don't have anything set in the browser and no browser "helper" that is adjusting image quality. This problem is only seen in Internet Explorer, not Firefox. Is there a setting in XDP that needs to be adjusted so this doesn't happen?
I still want the web stuff ripped out.Easy, delete the HTMLfilter.dll and remove the web related buttons from the tool bars.
