I can't find the option. In fact I can't find many options. The custom settings are not very custom really as the choice is very limited or none.
When I try and render my 23 minute project to WMV HD 720p it gets to 6% and says file reading error.

My clips are AVCHD (HDV captures from a Sony HDR-FX7 via Firewire using HDVSplit). I'm outputting them to "HDV 720p - 30p (for PC)". Total edited projects are 9-10 minutes each and I'm seeing 2-3 of these "red frames" per output file.
i want to know if their is a solution for files MOV H264 60 fps, because when i previsualize clib : no probleme, and in project windows the sound is correct but video completly slow. I have the same probleme on vs x3 and vs x5 ultimate... in the publicity of vs x5 ultimate it is write that input video h264, quicktime, but i think it is ONLY in 30 fps ! but not in 50/60 fps ! i wait answer from corel.. because the technical support said this input isn't supported in vs x5 !

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe 720p avi files on my toshiba camileo s20 are not recognized by my VS pro x2. VS will not capture them either from the camera or from the sd card. It does recognize the files on the sd card and shows a thumbnail, but when I try to capture them it says it cannot do so.
I can capture the files using windows 7 moviemaker but the avi files are still not recognized by vs even though windows movie maker has no trouble with them and treats them like any avi file. I have made a dvd with windows mm using those files.
VS does handle sd avi files from my JVC camcorder but no joy with the Toshiba. I have both the 1 and 2 updates for vs x2.
Is it possible to use Video Studio Pro X3 to make the edited video into a video file with menu and chapters like you have on a DVD but just on a video file instead ?
I have used Video Factory 2010 for making DVD's with navigation menus but I would like to make it into a file to use on my Mediaplayer instead of having to make a DVD and then ripp.
I'm having a problem using a video file created in FInal Cut. A friend of mine made a movie that I need to use to either edit or more importantly just create a DVD with in VIdeo Studio. I had him convert the MOV file to MPEG 2 The file, both video and audio, plays perfectly in Windows Media Player, but when you bring it into Corel it doesn't see any audio.
The SAME MPG file shows these properties in Corel
FILE
File Format - MPEG-2
File Size - 1.1179,411kb
Duration: 685.152 seconds
VIDEO
Video Type MPEG-2Video, Lower Field First
Total Frames: 20, 534 fames(s)
Attributes: 24 bits, 720x480, 16:9
Frame Rate: 29.97 frames/sec
Data rate: Variable bit rate ( max 20000 kbps)
AUDIO
Audio type : none
Total Samples:

Layer
Bit Rate
AND these properties in Windows Media Player
Length 11:25
Bit Rate -
Media Type - Video
Aspect Ratio - 16x9
Audio Codec - MPEG audio Decoder
Video Codec - Intervideo Video Decoder
So clearly you see that Windows can recognize the audio component that Corel does not see
As an alternative I had him give me the uncompressed MOV file. That file had these properties as shown in Corel ( right clicked file in Corel)
FILE
File Format - Quick Time Movie Files
Movie Size - 720 x 480

When I took the MOV file into VS X4 --- it worked fine on the time line. I then wanted to burn a DVD. I selected File, New, Share, Create DVD, added the media to the project, for disc template manager, I chose best mpeg 2 lpcm, for MPEG properties for file conversion I customized the settings to Encoder driver - Ulead MPEG NOW encoder, frame type lower field first, 720 x 480, 16:9, I brought the quality under media type up to 100%, video data rate 8000, variable, and the audo to LPCM.... The DVD burned but the file LOST a lot of quality,.... even played with less quality on preview as soon as you brought it into the CREATE DVD window.
Whether the properties use to convert MOV to MPG were correct? Why Corel doesn't see the audio on that file and windows does? Creating DVDs from MOV files? Did I set the DVD up correctly? Interestingly.... he created a DVD for me, and I could "rip" the file into Corel and it created a perfect MPG that was 1/3 of the size of the original mpg he gave me. Also, Windows DVD maker, a basic program read the MPEG he created and burned a perfect DVD with AUDIO and VIDEO that Corel could not.
how to make my edited mp4 video files smaller so that They upload and download much quicker. I did some editing to some MPEG-4 video files and when I was finished I found out that the file sizes of each video blew up to huge numbers. During the editing I did add some transitions and .MPEG photo images. I didn't think that the video size would grow to that amount. I really would like to keep the MPEG-4 format for the convenience to the viewer. I just need to have it in the smallest file size possible. how I can get my "MP4 H264 - MPEG-4 AVC Resolution 640x480" videos to an acceptable file size?

I am trying to synch several biped characters to an HD background video I have placed in the environment slot. The problem is that when I scrub the animation slider or hit the play button, Max cannot play the background video in real time. When I hit play, the video remains frozen on whatever frame it was last on, but then updates to the correct frame when I hit the stop button.
It is pretty difficult to get the timing right on the foreground biped animation without a real time background reference. I also tried a lower res version of the background video (standard 720 x 480 DV), but that also does not play in real time. Is there any way to get max to play the background video in sync i.e., updating the frames in real time? Is there a way to improve max performance (ideal settings?)for a background video? Would a Tiff sequence play quicker than a .mpg or .mov files? If so how do set up an .ifl for playing an image sequence?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been learning about Textures and I've been playing around with different ones and so I have come across a great site with lots of Texture files for download ...
[URL]......
Well, the files are small eg: 38x38 and 76x76 and how to create a larger image with these small images. Also, they are in .png format... if that matters.
From what I've read a Texture is a Pattern ... right? So, I have searched the FAQ's, the Manual etc. for things like: How to make a large Pattern, How to use a small file for a large Pattern and so forth but I can't find the right info.
Am I suppose to use them to create a Repeating Pattern? Can I do this and have them be seamless?
I bought Corel VSPro X6 and want to make a dvd of a local rock band so I went into Share-Create Disk and created one. The disk will not play in a dvd player but plays fine in my computer once I click on the .IFO file. Should I be selecting a particular setting so the disk will play in my dvd player.
It doesn't play at all in the dvd player, it just reads the disk for a minute and the player opens back up. The disk is good and the player plays other disks just fine, it's just ones burned with Videostudio pro x6 that won't play in the dvd player.
How to make the ADORAGE to function on VSP X6 ? On the VSPX5 I used perfectly it on the ... transition and filter... sections.
Well... I bought the ADORAGE before the appearance of the VSPX6 . and in its installation screen I can select only plugins for the X4 and X5 versions of the VSP.
I thought the VSPX6 would maintain compatibility with the resources which had function for the X5, cause the ADORAGE I bought as an indication of the COREL GUIDE / DO MORE section of the VSP X5.
It seems I can't do this simple thing. Using Pro X2 I rendered together 4 mini videos on different subjects. Total time 40 minutes. I hit Share>Create Disc> DVD>Add Chapter (I added 4 chapters)>OK>Selected one of Thumb Nail Menus templates>Preview... and the menus shows only one chapter thumbnail, saying 1/1. I've done it over and over again and can not get my 4 chapters to show on menus template.

Is it possible to create templates URL....That led me to the 'Make Movie Templates Manager', but this seems to be a dead-end, I mean, how and where do I create the template ?
I have used an exceptionally good website called [URL]...... for a number of years with no problems. I have just downloaded from them a .mp3 file lasting 5 minutes but when I come to load it into my project , I get an error message saying "File format mismatch". The only difference that I see between this and all the previous files I have downloaded from them is that this one has a bitrate of 320kbps compared to the previous ones of 130-190kbps.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have several AVCHD folders I've copied to my HD in the last year from my Panasonic HDCSD20. Now I'm ready to edit them in VSX4. Is there any advantage to using "file/import media file to library" (which makes a copy in the working folder) vs just clicking on the folder icon and adding them? I've looked at the file size on both the original clip and the imported one and they are identical. It does seem as though VS extracts the original date and time shot and uses that as the imported file name,
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make a handwriting effect in the sky, as if a pen were writing a name across the sky. Is there a way to do that in VSX4? I've been looking at the effects and don't see a way to do it, so far. Or, does New Blue FX have something like that? I thought Bluff Titler had it, but you actually have to get a different program to do the handwriting, then use Bluff Titler so it's 2 programs instead of one. I've found Cool 3D Production Studio online but can't tell whether or not it does it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am a new user of X4 and have used X2 for only about six months so some of my questions may seem lame, but here they are.
First, I upgraded to X4 to get rid of that annoying AVCHD blip problem (it worked). But, I have become increasingly frustrated that the quality of my DVDs are still fairly poor to my mind. I have been taking HD videos of my daughter playing soccer and the videos look good on my computer (in clip mode, anyway, as opposed to project mode, which probably takes more processing power than I have). However, they don't look that good to me when I watch DVDs I have created.
The camcorder is a Sony HDR – CX150 and its native MTS files are 1440x1080. After some reading, I discovered that standard DVD conversion plummets the resolution to 720x480, or 480p. So, perhaps that is part of the answer for why a standard DVD format of the soccer game doesn't look so nice on a 37" 720P or 1080i LCD Vizio TV? The 720x480 picture is being stretched to fit? OK, but why does motion look so bad? The image is decent when people are standing still, but I see a lot of blur and, sometimes, streaking when the camera pans or people start to run. What can I do about that?
I tried upping the bitrate for the DVD MPEG settings (from 6800 to 9800), but that did not work. I thought perhaps I could try making an AVCHD DVD using the 1920x1080 resolution and play it on my Blu-ray player (a Samsung BD-P1590) to see if that might look good. It didn't. In fact, it seemed to be the same or even slightly worse.
So, how do I get the good quality videos I am taking to translate to the TV screen? I have tried two different DVD players and TVs as well as my laptop.
I want to make my videos 480p. How do I do that?
