View 1 RepliesI just purchased Video Studio Pro X3 and I love it . In my opinion it is possible to capture video from the video camera. I have a JVC HD camera
This the camera I purchased.

I would like to hook my camera up to my computer
[URL]........
How do I do this. Now of course my camera records off an SD card and I can just stick it in there and edit. The reason I am hoping I can capture video just like I can with a webcam is because the view screen on my camera no longer functions so therefore I can only point in my general direction and center up the shot in post edit.
I've got USB 2.0 AV Grabber (STLab) which came with Video Studio
I'm trying to copy VHS cassette footage onto disk.
I capture the audio track, but no video.
Is there any way to schedule video capturing with this software ? For example, can I automate it to capture daily at a certain time for a fixed duration or can this only be done manually ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to capture both Video and Audio in Video Studio Pro X4. I have a program called Diamond One-Touch Video Capture V500 that uses a USB connection for the Video and Stereo output from my Sony Handycam Digital 8 Model DCR-TRV740. The one touch software works well to capture both the Video and Audio, however, I was hoping when I purchased the Corel Video Studio Pro X4, that I would be able to record both video and audio with the capture feature, since V500 Video shows under sources in the capture screen.why the Video Studio will not record the audio while the One Touch Video program will?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI created a long video of me playing a number of cover songs and I want to grab those songs individually so I can post them on YouTube.
I'm using Ulead Video Studio 11 Plus.
I'm trying to capture video from a VHS/DVD machine using an EasyCap (2.0 I think). I'm able to get video but it's pulling the audio from my computer's mic. I investigated settings and found that 1) the format resets to MPEG if I set it on DVD and 2) when I go into Options > Video and Audio Capture... and select the only option in the drop-down for Audio device that says USB, the program crashed. I opened it back up and saw that it was still set on USB for the Audio device, but when testing I didn't get the video's audio. I'm new to capturing video this way, am I missing something? I double checked that the cables are plugged in correctly.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded video studio x4 trial to test drive. I have the upgrade boxed version on the way. I'm running it on my Win7 Home Premium system, 6 gig ram. My camera is a JVC gr-d850 mini DV tape camera. I connect the camera to my computer using a 4-6 pin avi cable. The computer detects the camera with no problem. However, when I open VS x4, it tells me no camera is detected or not connected. My laptop has a 4 pin firewire connection. If I use a 4-4 pin cable between the laptop and camera and open VS x4 it detects the camera with no problem. why the desk top can detect the camera but the software on it can't? And using the laptop instead is not really an option since it is way under powered to handle what I plan to throw at this program.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI enjoy the Video Studio Pro X5 over X3 and I finally got the machine to accept the driver for the samsung minidvd video camera. I selected capture video and started playing the video and hit start capture. It appears to work, but it only records and saves maybe 30 seconds of video. I did a 15 minute tour of a cave but less than 30 seconds of the video is saved.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm running VSproX2 and I'm trying to capture video from my Panasonic DVX100 camera. I have some Christmas stuff I want to edit. I cant seem to get VS to recognize the Camera. I dont know if it's a setting in the camera or a bad firewire (4pin) port.
Does the camera need a driver to be loaded? Should the PC have recognized the Camera when it was plugged in (like USB devices)?
I have the camera set to VCR mode. In VS, I go to Capture and select Capture Video. It says "Either no device is installed, or the device is not connected". Nothing is listed in Source or Format.
I just installed VideoStudio Pro X4 on my Dell laptop with 64BIT, Windows 7 Home Premium. I am TRYING to use an EZCAP 64BIT device with my 8MM camcorder connected to it and "Composite" input selected as is appropriate in this connection. VideoStudio loads fine; select Capture tab, fine; click Capture Video, that loads fine with "Capture Video" flashing and waiting to be clicked again to begin capture, fine; I click "Capture Video," the icon changes to "Stop Capture," fine; I press PLAY on my 8MM camcorder; the video and audio begin, and I can see and hear it on my machine for approximately 8 - 10 seconds, then a box pops up with the message, "Unable to capture the file because it is copyright protected. OK"

View 6 Replies View RelatedUsing VideoStudio X4. I Have a JVC VHS unit which captures video perfectly fine. It's connected via firewire from the JVC unit into a firewire 2 adapter and into the iMac. However I also have a Sony 8mm playerGV - D800E unit which plays back via the preview pain on X4 fine, but as soon as you hit capture, it runs for 9 seconds and stops and it does capture 9 seconds of footage. I've run the Sony unit with other apps and it works fine. Just with X4 I have issues with. Tried switching between DVD (array of differnt setting) and DV (Type1 and 2) but with no luck.
I also tried connecting the Digital Sony 8MM player via a video capture device (Canopus ADVC110), same result. It captures video for 9 seconds, VS stops capturing, and the player continues and play's back on the viewer in VS.
I bought a new computer (Dell E5520 laptop with Windows 7) and transfered all my programs/data; Video Studio Pro X4 wouldn't work - would not capture video. I un-installed the program. When I try to install VS ProX4 on my new computer from the disc I get a small blank window and a flashing diaglogue box pops up so quickly I can't read it. I have run virus scans and removed all identified threats. I am running a Intel Core i5, have 4GB Ram and 500GB disk. Installation and operations were great on my old system running XP.

For the first time, the capture managed to do 70% of the DV tape. But now it wont do it. Is it my PC? (spec provided from Belarc report)
How do I get the audio as well as the video, I am using a VC500 capture device and the video comes in clear but no audio.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt seems I have no more room to install a stand alone Video Capture Card and the maximum video card I can and am about to install on my Gateway 700XL computer is a GeForce 7950 GT AGP which does not include video capture. So, I have been told that I should consider buying a "Dazzle Digital Video Creator DVC-90 Video Capture Device and Movie Maker" devise. I assume I have no need for anything related to the "Movie Maker" for I have VS11Plus and may soon upgrade to the latest Video Studio if my system is compatible with the latest. URL.....

Something else that may be worth adding is info on the Camcorder which is: URL....
I have a Nikon D3100 camera and I am trying to use it to make stop animation movies. When I plug it in via USB I can import videos/photos to my computer, etc...so it is recognized. However, when I try to use it in VideoStudio X4 the only option I get is a webcam. Are there any special drivers I need to make this work? I have searched google a bit, but maybe I am missing something. I am using the trial version of the program to try and get things worked out before I actually purchase it. The software looks wonderful for stop animation so I really want to make this work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to produce a 5 minute sports highlight video. It will be a mix of clips shot on my HDC-SD10 camcorder and clips pulled from a 1.5 hour game video on DVD. I am running Corel VideoStudio Pro X4.
Immediate challenge is importing clips from the game video on DVD. I don't want to download the entire game from the DVD just to pull 5 five-second clips. Unfortunately, entire game is one "chapter" on the DVD, so I can't just import a particular chapter. I've looked through the Corel manual, but can't find anything. How can I pull short clips from one long file?
I have VideoStudio SE, packaged with Sabrent USB-AVCPT cables. I was able to capture video for a while. Now when I try I get the following message. "Capture video bit rate is 300. Frame size is 640 X 480. When using this frame size the video bit rate should be between 1578 - 8838."

I am not very tech savvy, so I hope there is a simple solution. I am able to capture video with Windows Movie Maker, but I prefer to use Corel as it is a much better program. My operating system is Vista Home Premium, I am using a firewire connection to a Panasonic Camcorder, model PV-GS83.
After not having much luck with the last video card, I changed my video card to a device with the Philips 713x chipset
Now when I select video capture I get the following message:

I have just installed card (SAA7130 TV PCI card) with latest drivers excluding the software so Video Studio 12 pro is the only capture software on the machine . I also re-installed both card and Video Studio after doing a complete system restore and used CC cleaner to remove any residual data before re-installing.
I need to use video capture within the Video Studio software as I need to use the scene detection functionality. The reason I had to change the card in the first place is that video studio only allowed me to capture in AVI 320x240 and gave 'capture failed' errors with anything else.
Does a Sata hard disk drive of 5400rpm allows successful capture of video via Firewire. I checked the boxes which v10+ and Pro X3 but they do no state this.
I am contemplating purchasing a notebook which has a Sata HDD of 5400rpm and Intel Pentium Centrino Duo (dual core 1.83GHz) - the CPU should be fine I think but what about the HDD? I think that when I first started video editing (VS v 6 I think) that I only had a 5400rpm drive and had no problems but just wanted to be sure. Oh yes the notebook does have a firewire port.
I have an old video on cassette that I'm trying to capture to my computer to burn to dvd. It's fine on my t.v. being played in my vhs player. When I connect it to my computer using the program Video Studio Pro X5, I can capture, and everything is functioning fine, but the tracking is off in the preview section. I've captured, and played it back, and it captures like the preview. It's got the wave at the top, and a tiny bit of it on the bottom. How to adjust the tracking, like on old t.v.'s so that the picture is centered?
