May 6, 2004if i copy and then paste on a new canvas, will the picture quality automatically be duplicated? or are some other factors coming into play, like size of the new canvas or resolution?

Photoshop :: Losing Formatting When Pasting Text In CS6
Aug 21, 2013I am trying to copy and paste text in Photoshop CS6 and I am losing the oh-so-valuable formatting. I am referring to two boxes side by side in Photoshop that contain text.

I love the text in the first box, but when I try to duplicate the formatting in the second box right next to it, the text looks completely different. And, when I try to just paste some of the text from the first box to the second box, the 20 px text suddenly becomes 96.3 px text.

Even though I go through all of the formatting options available and duplicate what was in the first box, the text in the second box ends up looking nothing like the first box even though they contain exactly the same formatting, font type - everything.

Jun 7, 2012I'm trying to use the export>render video feature in Photoshop CS5 extended. I must use avi without any compression, keeping the original frame rate (the original file is also an uncompressed avi). My impression was that this setting keeps the original video quality.
However, the exported video loses quite a bit of its original quality. Is it possible to keep the original quality?

Jul 13, 2009I'm having some trouble when uploading photos to my company's website, they look fine when editing and then when they are saved to my computer. However, after uploading to our website it looks like they lose resolution quality in areas where colors are changing.
The first image here is the image from my computer, the second is from the website after being uploaded. In the areas between the red jersey material and the white numbering/lettering it just looks strange. Is there something I am not doing right while editing the image, or is the problem most likely in our upload process?

I'm wanting to resize an image from 485x391 to 100x81, but when I try to do that, the image quality is completely degraded and it goes blurry where the finer details are.

Oct 8, 2005why my pictures are losing color when I save as. I've tried jpg at the highest setting, bmp, and gif, and its just not saving my image as it looks in photoshop.
I recently did a fresh install of PS7 and I never had this problem before. I'm thinking there is some setting I need to change, perhaps in 'Color Settings' but I don't know much about it.
I've included a screenshot of what my image looks like in PS7 and how it looks when I save it.

I use CS3 to edit. For some reason, whenever I resize the image, save it as a Jpeg and post it to the web, it loses image quality. Severely. I've never had this problem before....until this new computer. I usually resize the image to 800, then simply click on Save as Jpeg. Â

Oct 19, 2012I have simple line drawings in illustrator (outlines of clothes) that I wish to open in photoshop to add colour and effects to. When i have tried to copy and paste (as normal paste, smart object, pixels, path and shape layer) the quality is lost.
I have also tried to open or place the file in photoshop as a .psd, .ai , .pfd and still the quality is lost.I have saved with different resolution settings too, but it always loses quality when it is opened in photoshop.

Jun 22, 2012I am creating a series of music worksheets on photoshop. I have created some music scores in a music writing software called Sibelius 7. It has the capability to export the sheet music graphics in the following forms: .pdf, .eps, .bmp, .tiff, .png, .svg .

However, I have tried to 'place' each of them into my photoshop file to see which one will work.
But on saving the photoshop document as a .pdf with any of the graphics formats, the vector quality of the image has been lost, as it pixelates on zooming in. I have also tried to import an .svg file into adobe illustrator to save it as an .ai file and then import that into photoshop, but the image is again pixelated.

I don't really know what is happening, as I am essentially trying to import a file that is a vector (or at least does not pixelate on zooming) into photoshop, hoping for the same qualities to be retained, but it is being lost for some reason.

The images I usually resize have approximately 900 x 900 pixels and they are basically text print screens. I resize them to 80%.

Sep 4, 2013I would like to prepare some photos for Retina display screens (not for printing) and was told that in order to do this, I need to increase the resolution of my images from 72dpi to 240dpi.

Many of my original photos are 3000 x 1875 pixel size at 72dpi resolution. What I wanted to know is that if I uncheck 'resample image' in the 'image size' dialogue box and increase the resolution from 72dpi to 240dpi, will my image suddenly be Retina ready without ANY loss of quality?

I find it hard to get my head around the fact that you can simply raise the resolution of an image in this way with no adverse affect to the quality.

Sep 5, 2012I bought VSX5 Ultimate last week to go with my new GoPro Hero2, climbed the learning curve, and can now produce presentable videos. I've read the (not very complete) VS User Guide, checked Corel's Knowledgebase, spent the better part of thirty hours twiddling filters (rendering to a 1280x720 output file and viewing that outside of VS) and spent about eight hours searching this forum and the Interweb for the answer to no avail, so here I am:
I have 1920x1080 30p MP4 video from the camera, but want to crop it to 1280x720, and not lose image quality. Can VSX5 do this, and/or how?
I'm new to video, but very old to photography. When I say "crop" I mean "throw away the area outside of my cropping rectangle, resulting in an image of smaller dimensions."
I do not mean "fill the area outside my cropping rectangle with the color of my choice, resulting in an image of the same dimensions" as happens when using the Crop Borders filter.
Video Pan & Zoom doesn't work as the final results are abominable; as soon as I specify 150% zoom (amount needed to make a 1280x720 area fill a 1920x1080 area) quality is lost. The Cropping filter produces the same (lost) quality results. Distort Clip does the best job but still suffers some image quality degradation, and it's nearly impossible to get a precise "150%" crop (or "33% reduction" as my Photoshop brain thinks) as dragging the handles is all by eyeball. I think the problem is that all of these options entail two steps: (1) Enlarging the area I want to keep, causing it to fill the frame -- AND losing quality in the interpolation process. (2) Saving the entire frame (clip), now filled with lower-quality "larger pixels" so to speak, at a smaller size than original.
My Project Properties are NTSC drop frame (29.97fps), AVI, 24bits, 1920x1080, 29.97fps, Frame-based, Uncompressed, PCM, 48kHz, 16bit stereo.
My Movie Template that I'm using is MPEG-4, 24 bits, 1280x720, 29.97fps, Frame-based, H.264 High Profile Video: 12500 Kbps, 48000Hz, 16bit, Stereo, MPEG AAC Audio: 128Kbps.
Am I trying to do something that can't be done? Am I overcomplicating something? Am I missing the "photographic crop" filter?
VideoStudio :: Pro X4 - Losing Quality When Rendering / Burning?
Apr 2, 2012I'm working on a video to propose to my girlfriend with next month, and I have all the edits done and the project is complete (including the DVD menu), but every time I render it it loses quality, and then when I burn a disk it loses even more quality. I'm just burning it onto a standard DVD so I know it won't stay fully HD, but it's pixelated in several parts which really is annoying.
Some details:
Original file properties (.mts):
File Format: NTSC HDMV
Video Type: H.264 Video, Upper Field First
Attributes: 24 bits, 1920 x 1080, 16:9
Frame Rate: 29.970 frames/sec
Data Rate: Variable bit rate (Max. 20899 kbps)
I don't know what camera they were shot on, a friend did the shots for me and I didn't think I'd need to know the camera specs.
I've tried rendering using several of the default options in the Share tab (MPEG Optimizer, DVD, MP4). So far, MP4 has worked the best.
When I burn it to a disk, though, it gets really bad. I tried burning straight from the project and burning from the rendered video file. Burning from the rendered file was less pixelated, but still not as clean as I want it to be.

Apr 8, 2011I have an 8 X 11 image that needs to be shrunk down to about 1" X 1" (it's being put on a poker chip). It's obviously not working.
I know the lines have to be thicker and/or darker so when they're shrunk they don't disappear.

AutoCad :: Pasting To Word - Quality Not Good / Distorted?
Jun 30, 2012I have tried copying/pasting into word from AutoCAD and the quality is not good, very distorted.
I have also tried WMFOUT and didn't like the quality either when pasting into Word.
My best option has been to plot and save as a .jpg, and the quality is great except the black lines turn grey and I really need it to be black. Is there a way to make it look black?

Nov 27, 2013Ok i just installed Adobe Illustrator and want to convert some images i created in Photoshop to vector graphics so i can resize the image without it getting blurry.  So i saved the image as a png file and opened in Illustrator. I chose high fidelity photo from the image trace menu and now the traced image is blurry. Here is what is happening.

The image is 300dpi png file format, i tried eps file format and same result. Resizing in Photoshop causes the images to get blurry, so i installed Illustrator to convert the images to vector graphics and resize without losing quality but this problem has now surfaced. How do i solve this?

Nov 30, 2008I'm pretty new to photoshop, and I've started on a personal project. I want to basically take a video still from a music video and turn it into a poster. Sadly i can not find a good quality version of the video as it is older and not super famous, (kyuss-one inch man). So i found an online video that is better then youtube but not great, and i captured it through the vista snipping tool (screen capture).
Basically I want to take this low quality picture, and turn it into a good quality poster (not huge). What techniques and things must I do? I'll probably have to find a printer near here and require a specific dpi as well.

My question is how to maintain high quality (original quality) of a image after resizing it?
If i resize it with same ratio like:
2816x2112px to 1600x1200px (4:3)
2816x1584px to 1920x1080px (16:9)
Mainly i use scale image option in Gimp. But now i need to resize many images for my work so i tried David's Batch Processor to resize my images. After using it, i found there is some quality promble with the resized image.
Then i tried, the scale option with, use quality setting from original image and JPEG quality parameter is 95, in gimp but the problem is same. I did it with also with David's batch processor- JPEG quality parameter is 95.
Other thing is that, the original image 2816x2112px (4:3), size- 3.6 MB is displaying in image viewer with 47% and the resized image 1600x1200px (4:3). size- 1.2 MB is displaying in image viewer with 83%, So my questions are: How can i check the quality of a image after resizing it, means the image is exactly same as the original? Or Is David's Batch Processor maintain the original quality of the images after resizing?. I realy need to resize many images for my work.

Jun 8, 2013I am trying to import photos from my computer to Photoshop elements 11. It has imported most but wont import some as "file quality is too high". How do I get around this? Do I have to downgrade the quality of my photos? To do editing wouldn't you want the best quality photos to start off with?
