For a gif or png file, is there anyway I can get rid of the white outlines they get around them when I display them on web pages?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI add a watermark to all the photos I post to the web. I've (for years) used a transparent .png file and it's worked fine. Since starting to shoot with Canon Raw, I'm now doing the editing in CS5 for Windoze. (W7 pro 640 bit)
Since I've been unable to find a visible watermark feature in CS5, I've been dragging, then dropping the .png file on the edited image, placing it, then adjusting the opacity to a value of 5 or 6. That works out ok.
But when I drop the .png onto the edited file, its size is inconsistent. Well, it's consistent in that it's about 150 percent of what it should be. Both the edited file and the watermark image are 800 pixels wide. However, at what seems random frequency, the dropped image is about 1200 pixels wide, necessitating alignment and resizing before placing.
First, have I overlooked a visible watermark function?I know that's a loaded question, but if it's a method that should work, why is the dropped image inconsistent in its size? Next, is it reasonable to create an action to overlay the edited image with the watermark? I always use the same file, so it would seem like a reasonable thing.
I'm starting off with a transparent BG, I'm saving the file as a png, and I'm writing in only #FFFFFF white with a drop shadow. I can see it on preview, but when I use color paper, the letters turn out transparent with the slight outline provided by the drop shadow. I can get any other color I want, but why isn't white showing up and how can I generate it?

I assume that I need to make transparent canvas and transparent letters (lu) so that it takes the gray color of the fabric and not the white background and letters of my file but when I rasterize type, save and open it again I cannot edit.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to wrap a label (just letters) on a transparent capsule which is populated, inside, with instance objects of particles. The label has been photoshopped so that the letters are opaque and the background transparent. Using a Composite Material, with the glass material the Base material, I imported the label and thought it would just show the letters of the label on the capsule. What shows up is the label with a grey background. I can make this transparent by dialing down the opacity, but there must be a better way.

The transparent watermark is located on the lower left corner, there's also a small watermark on the lower right corner.

I want to generate a transparent embossed text watermark .png file that can be batch-applied in Lightroom. I get how to apply a bump map to an image inside GIMP, but I haven't figured a good way to get an otherwise transparent .png with just the watermark.
Ideally, this would be totally transparent except for lit areas (white, at varying degrees of opacity) and shaded areas (black, with varying degrees of opacity). In GIMP, I can apply a bump map to anything opaque -- lightening and darkening the color, I guess -- but I can't apply it to a transparent layer.
If there's no straightforward way to do that, I imagine I could bump map onto gray, turn the resulting light grays into a mask for a white layer and the dark grays into a mask for a black layer. The content of the watermark will change, so it would be outstanding if there's a simpler way to do this.
what i would like to know is: how can a i make letters "transperent" so that i can fill it with some different backgrounds?
just like in the picture i attached.
I need to create white letters on a transparent background, but don't know how. You can't see white letters on a white background, and if I set the layer to invisible I can't see the letters either.

I need to strip my current image of its background color so that the background color on my website goes thru my image. In other words I need a transparent background for my image.
I have create a new layer that is transparent, but the background color on my website does not go thru it. The background color of this image appears to be grayish not transparent.
Is there a way to make the letters overlap each other? I basically just want the outer glow effect to be around each letter individually instead of the word/sentence as a whole. The previous letter overlapping the following..

Hey, I'm having troubles with applying a gradient tool to a rectangular marquee in Photoshop CS3 for Mac OS X 5.8. Instead of getting a black color to fade into the background, I just get the black color.
And I'm click and dragging about 1.5 inches long. Sometimes I end up covering the entire picture with that color, not just the object (even though the object is selected). Gradient maps and layer masks don't seem to work.
I have an image with several layers. The background layer is transparent. When I merge the layers, the background becomes white. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong or didn't do that prevented my background from staying transparent.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf you look at my website, [URL] ... you'll see that the title in the header is kind of fuzzy around the edges of the letters. I created it in Photoshop, and I cannot seem to get the edge's sharp and clear no matter what I do in Photoshop. It also doesn't seem to make any difference if I save it as a .PNG or a .jpg. I have tried re-doing it from scratch several times, and it doesn't seem to make any difference. I've created other header titles in Photoshop that have come out clear and sharp and I haven't done anything any differently.
