I want to make a photo of a table mat into a coaster (that you stand a drink on). All i need to do is take the photo, and using the rounded rectangle tool, round off the edges. I get a solid shape, but i've tried to invert the selection and it won't.

Photoshop :: [Paste Into] Rounded Frames [Clipping Mask]

Dec 27, 2007

I wanted to find a tutorial on how to paste images into frames with various corner radius. You may have a rectangle frame with a curved radius such as 20-50 pixels. I tried pasting images into shapes, but moving the images inside the frames didn't produce the results I was expecting and was cutting off the image inside or blocking out the frame itself.

I watched Adobe TV Illustrator's tutorial about cropping images with a clipping mask. In the video, the presenter uses the rectangle tool with the clipping mask, and makes a reference that the circle or vector shape could be used, but I cannot figure out how to get the circle.

I can't use my "Rounded Rectangle Tool" correctly anymore. When I draw the shape it's just a square without the rounded corners. The radius is set on 1 pixel. The cursor also displays a really small circle on the bottom right with a square inside of it.

Photoshop :: CS5 - Rounded Rectangle And Move Tool Not Working?

Jun 8, 2012

CS5 Photoshop..I have just noticed that my rounded rectangle tool is not working properly. When I click and drag nothing is visible, when I release it floods my whole image with my selected color. I have tried all of the other tools and they work properly. I have tried restarting, compared settings with other tools, and checked for updates.

Also, I have what appears to be a common problem with my move tool. I click, drag, and drop only to have the selected image snap back to its original position. I have an intuos 5 connected, is this the culprit?

I want all of my current layers to be the content of a rounded rectangle.

Photoshop :: What Is The Difference Between A Layer Mask And Clipping Mask?

Apr 26, 2009

My subject line pretty much sums up what I want to ask.

Are they simply two different mechanisms for doing the same thing?

Illustrator :: Clipping Mask On A Layer Is The Entire Document Covered In A Mask?

Jan 27, 2013

Level: Newbie   OS: Win7 64bit   Ia: Cs6

Once I use a Clipping Mask on a layer is the entire document covered in a mask?

And/or is all the artwork from then on inside the mask?

I've read about how to add and how to remove art from a mask. I've read about how to make and release and lots of other things.

So, then I went and found a lesson that contained the use of a Clipping Mask.

I am suppose to Select the main shape and "just" copy it and move it down (doesn't say rather to Paste in front or back but I assumed in back ~ not that it has mattered thus far)

However, while making the main shape I used Gradient Mesh and used an Offset to create a "replica" and so when I go to Select the main shape the mesh is selected and so when I Paste (in back ~ seems most logical) and then move it down the details such as the colors of the Gradient and other such things are visible in front ~ ??

So, I have been trying to abate my problem in lots of different ways.

I have tried using the Pen tool to draw behind the main shape, I've tried making a New Layer and placing it above and below and inbetween the main shape layer, I've tried adding the artwork to the Mask ... I've tried everything I can think of and I've been through many an article in the manual and FAQ's to no avail.

I suppose, what I think I need to know ... is, how ... how on earth do I draw behind this main shape? Am I not able to do it because I am not getting behind the Mask?

Photoshop :: Created A Solid Rectangle W/rounded Border

Jul 5, 2008

I'm trying to create a solid-color rectangle with rounded edges (feather of 5px). This seems like it should be simple, but I'm having a problem: I use the Rectangular Marquee tool to create the rectangle and then the Paint Bucket tool to fill in the rectangle. When I do this, the edges of the rectangle are fuzzy. I would like the edges to be hard (not fuzzy). Under the Paint Bucket options, Anti-alias is unchecked, the Mode is Normal, and the Opacity is 100%.

I notice that when I try to create a rectangle without rounded edges, the border is not fuzzy. Why does it become fuzzy when I try to create a rectangle with rounded edges?
