I`ve just downloaded the Pixel Bender filters for Photoshop CS4 from Adobe Labs. The speed of those filters is really incredible (GPU accelerated)!
Most of them are pretty much useless in my opinion. I hope we will get more usefull filters like a simple gaussian blur or unsharp mask or smart sharpen. Of course we already have those filters in Photoshop, but not at that speed. Pixel Bender is really realtime!
I am trying to install pixel bender into my filters menu. I have downloaded 64-bit extension as admin in CS5. It appears to be successfully downloaded, but does not show up in filters menu.
When I try to open the Pixel Bender Gallery from the Filter menu I get the error message "could not complete the Pixel Bender Command because there is not enough memory (RAM)". I have 8GB of RAM on my Mac OSX .
Everywhere I go on the Adobe site, I see links that say "click here to download Pixel Bender plug-in for CS5," but when I click on the link, it takes me to this page: URL....
That page has "archived" downloads for the CS4 plug-in, but not CS5. I also tried using the toolkit, but that looks like a programing language. I just want the plug-in that works with photoshop. I did find one site, URL....but it only had the windows version. I need the Mac version.
On extension manager, I have both the cs5.1 64 and cs5.1 32. I have downloaded the .mxp file and it installs on the cs5.1 32 version. When I open and run cs5.1, though, the pixel bender filter does not appear where it should? MY machine defaults to running 64, but I cannot get pixel bender to install there
How to install pixel bender plug in into windows 7 cs5. Sequentially....how to install the as an administrator....as I am the only account on a laptop..no net group, home group, etc. I have spent hours trying in vain to get on my Windows 7 64 bit Professional version.
I keep getting a message " you must have administrator/be an administrator "....when I check my log in It says I am an administrator...Obviously my problem is the OPERATOR. I have checked / Googled & lots of other folks have the same problem but the solution is always stated do it as an administrator ? I have the 64 bit file in my DOWNLOADS but can not get it into PS CS5 filters.
There is a download link on [URL] forPixel Bender Plug-in for Photoshop CS5 with following adress:[URL] but if you click on it you will be back to [URL]

I have just downloaded pixel bender for CS5 and know I get this message The image dimensions exceed the hardware capabilities of your GPU. What do I need to do to make it work
I have a Early 2013 Macbook Pro, CS5.5, Pixel Bender, and just downloaded Droste.
When Droste is chosen : immediately the CS5.5 shuts down with an error message, happened in both PS and AE. The error message is "bad access" and "kern invalid address"
( i tried a couple other plugins, same crash, same error message )
I have hardly ever used filters for any of my work as I have preferred using Xara's native tools and effects to get what I wanted. But recently, I was inspired by some animation work which used backgrounds painted in Photoshop. They used a lot of textures which enhanced the look of the animation and so I thought I'd try to simulate it within Xara.
It works very well and I can export it as a PSD retaining the layers and Alpha channel. But here come my questions.
1. How can I remove the two Alien Skin demo plugins as I already have the full versions.
2. Why don't the native Photoshop plugins--Artistic, Sketch, etc.--seem to work?
In CS3 you could change something to make all filters act like smart filters, even though they won't. I found this worked very well, now I have CS4 and would like to do the same but can't remember what to do to make it work.
I just downloaded a bunch of filters and I dragged them into the filters directory under plugins, but when I open photoshop, none of the filters are there.
I have two art objects on two layers. I want to match to the pixel the two objects that otherwise could be exactly the same but one layered object was imported slightly smaller.
The scale tool has good scale handling, I just want to measure the tool spots to the pixel to gain an exact scale size factor and match sizes.
It blows my mind that somthing this simple isnt all that simple. I used the eyedropper tool to slect a color from another photo, then used the brush while fully magnified to change the color of each pixel.
It was coming out a weird greyish color, and I noticed that if I clicked more than once, it got darker, but so did the pixels directly around the one i was editing. So, i copied both pictures, loaded them into paint, and went to town.
It worked, but then when i copied it back into photoshop, it had a black background (there was no background in the original pictures) around the sprite I was editing. I tried to use the magic wand tool to get rid of it, but it took parts of the sprite with it, so...
Is there any way that I can edit the color of a single pixel (or hell, even a group of pixels if they share the same exact color would be nice...preferred, even) accurately? If not, what program could I use that would keep the transparent background?
I downloaded and installed GIMP 2.8.8 in Windows XP. The Filters menu option shows only Repeat last, Re-show last and Reset all filters.Nothing else in there. Where are the filters?
I managed to remove the background, of an image,(A whit background) and put the image on top of a transparent layer. made a transparent image. When I place this image over a light color background, it looks fine, but when I place it over a dark color background, the edge of the image looks very rough and dirty, I think it's because some of the anti alias from the original image, how can I make it a clean image without going to delete pixel by pixel?
I am working on a dormitory project and need to provide a required light and ventilation schedule. I have figured out how to create a schedule for each level, but I want to isolate only the Dormitories and the Kitchenette (weed out all the other rooms such as corridor, elevator, storage, toilets, showers, stairs, trash, electrical, etc.).
I tried using seclusion filters, but there are too many items to exclude and cannot fit them all into the 4 filter categories. I am trying to just get the rooms that begin with 'D' and 'K'. I tried providing the variable 'Begins With' for D and in the next line 'Begins With' K, but then nothing shows up.
Is there a way to provide information to the filter that would allow it to show only rooms beginning with D AND K? I cannot seem to get it to work. I have been playing around with separation values within one filter category (i.e. 'Begins With' D, K) but apparently you cannot add multiple variables within one of the filter items.
When I drag around vector points of paths they are not constrained to the pixel grid, when the option "Snap Vector Tools and Transform to Pixel Grid" is off. This is the behavior I expect.BUT: When I drag whole paths, they snap to the pixel grid, no matter what. I even have snapping completely disabled.
This is particularly annoying when eg. creating a path for a zipper. I first make a path for the inside of the jacket or whatever, then I make one notch for the zipper and copy it over and over again for all the notches. It's very troubling when these elements snap to the pixel grid, because it's very unprecise then.
When I'm editing a file in PS CS5, when I want to used Artistic Filters it's greyed out, as are most of the options in the Filters menu. This happens whatever type of file I'm working on, and it doesn't matter whether I'm working in layers, a flattened image or a fresh image that's completely unedited and am using the background layer.
I frequently use the BPelt Flatten and Multifill plugins and they have always worked perfectly until today. Now I get the following error: "Could not complete the [Multifill/Flatten] command because of a problem with the filter module interface."
I use Photoshop CS6 Extended with the Creative Cloud membership, and just recently updated to version 13.1.1 x64. I believe this may be related, as the plugins worked before the update and nothing else has changed.
Im makin this home page graphic...and im using a few PS filters. Is ther a way u can put a filter in a new layer on a transparent background so that u can edit it....(emboss....distort it?)
I'm working on a Logo for my college projest right now and was wanting to put some texture into it, so I tabbed into Filter tab and it wont allow me to click on "Texture", nor will it let me use "Artistic", Brush Strokes" or "Sketch"...
