I want to create this picture via pentool. but the problems is when i create this picture, the insight of the picture are fill with the colour i selected but i just want that insight must be transparent and the border lines with the selected color must be made. what should i do?
I only had Adobe Photoshop for about 2 months now. I have been using the Low Key tool in guided alot. Here recently I went to edit a photo and my reduce effect button tool will not work. I tried everything from restarting my computer and the program. I love using this tool but I can not get the reduce effect to work.
So everything is fine until I use the select tool, and then free transform a part of the image. Then my brush and eraser stop working until I save and restart the program.
I am experiencing two problems. One is the tool icons in Photoshop are disappearing on the screen. I move the cursor and see nothing on my screen.
The second problem is at other times the proper tool icon and function is not showing up and working. I select for example the pen tool and the hand tool icon show up and the function works as the hand tool not the pen tool?
I had windows 7-64 bit; I used to use photoshop cs6 extended and it worked good the 3D tool, but 1 week ago I just change my operating system (i formated my Notebook) to windows 8 and I installed the latest verion of photoshop (photoshop cc) when I tried to open the 3d tools it said that I couldn't use it that I should update my graphic card
I tried to update it and it says that is that i have the recommended version (if you can see the year, its only of last yeard and it worked good for photoshop cs) I tried some steps from adobe support to go to preference and anable openGL options but it doesnt let me to check it.
I cannot get my pen tool to make an active selection. It completes the path, but then when I try to inverse selection, it says no pixels were selected. I am new to this and very frustrated. It will let me select all, but the path area remains inactive.
I cannot get the Text to show up using the Text tool. All I can see are tiny boxes even made the font 60 points. SHould be huge. Been happening for more than a week and I ran an update via the cloud just last night.
My son banged on my keyboard while I was in the middle of editing a photo using the clone tool. Now the tool is looks as though it's working when I'm sampling an area but when I go to change the designated area it isn't doing anything. And it's got a bright white spot in the circle.
I tried resetting the preferences, uninstalled the unnecessary fonts and still nothing is working properly. I even resetted the text tool.I don't know what else to really do. I tried unsintalling and reinstalling cs5 with the latest version and it still doesn't want to work properly, I don't know what else to really do.
My hand tool quit working. I looked in the forums. I've closed all browsers, restarted, rebooted, and removed the prefs.psp file. Not sure what to do now?
Liquify doesn't work at all. It literally does nothing no matter what settings I try! I have a mac, all of my software is updated..The brush pressure option is locked and it is set to 1?
So a few weeks ago I was fiddling in my Font folder and removed some text files that I didn't need. So after that, I tried to use the text tool in my Photoshop CS4, and everytime I get an error that says"Could not complete your request because of a program error."
So my Text Tool in Photoshop is just not functioning at all now, and I know it has something to do with some of the fonts I removed, but I don't remember which ones I deleted
I have just purchased Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design and Web Premium. In Photoshop, the hand tool is not working. The hand icon shows but does not pan the open image.
This is driving me crazy, Rotate Canvas tool seems to be buggy as S*&T. I have read this can be Open GL Issue. My graphics cards are supported " ATI Radeon HD 5770 " this is an adobe issue as it comes and goes, the same files will allow and then 5 min later refuse to rotate saying that I need to have open GL.
I have set the prefernces on normal basic and advanced and there seems to be no consistency it works and then it doesn't
I am really getting tired of trying to figure out why... using CS6 from the creative suite...
I am using cs3 and up till now all has worked correctly. But now when I try to use the text tool even at the the largest of sizes it is so small it can hardly be seen!.
My Patch tool no longer works properly in Windows Photoshop CS3. When I use the default settings (New Selection (Square Icon on extreme left), Source selected, Transparent NOT selected, no pattern selected) and I select the source then 'drag' the spot over to the destination until it looks the way I want it to, then let go, it replaces what I just saw with a blurry version of the two items 'added' together, as if the Transparent button were selected. Not what it's supposed to do.
I have reset the patch tool, then reset all tools and also reset the Photoshop preferences multiple times with the same result, the Patch tool still not working as its supposed to. I've tried this on multiple files of various formats (JPG, NEF, DNG) with the same results.
I'm having the same problem as the discussion below but resetting the Photoshop preferences files and tools did not help me as it did this user.

My crop tool works when pictures are in landscape orientation but not portrait orientation. This is a new problem that has developed within the last week. 80% of my pictures are taken in portrait orientation. A message pops up that says "Could not complete your request because of a program error."
I have photoshop 5.5 and all of suddent the Type Tool stopped working. The font size is so small (I can only see a DOT where the insertion key is) regardless the font size. I even put font size to 200 points. It still gives me a little dot in the input box where I can type the text.
My photoshop was working for a while. Now it started acting weird.
Do I need to reinstall Photoshop or I need a new computer?
I am running PII 400 with 128 Ram. Windows XP Pro.
i'm making some signatures for the reptile sites i use out of photos taken.
I have one photo of a lizard that is on a white flooring, so i was trying to replace the white with a brown colour using the colour replacement tool. It went horribly... I kept playing with the options but the white just got replaced by pale, obvious colours no matter which colours i picked so i gave up.
Now i was getting into another pic and want to erase the background and after selecting the eraser tool, it just started colouring it in with the fore-colour instead of erasing. I've tried changing the colour replacement options and got it so that it just does nothing when i try to erase.
My colour replacement settings are:
mode - hue
sampling - continuous
limits - contiguous
tolerence - 30%
anti-alias ticked
My eraser settings are:
brush
opacity - 100%
flow - 100%
erase to history ticked.
how i can reset my photoshop back to default settings ...
My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit & Radeon graphics card. I have been having trouble with my space bar. This is what I've been doing...
New Layer > Ellipse tool > Draw a cirlce > Duplicate Layer > (reselect) Ellipse tool > select the Subtract Front Shape < this is where I need to use the space bar so that I can center the new circle (inside) so that I have a nice border that's evenly spaced around the entire circumference.
However, when I go to hold down the space bar so that I can use my mouse pad to move the circle around it will not move and the hand icon does not appear. The box that contains the H/height & W/width gains the X & Y information. However, intermittently the hand icon will appear but even when it is present I still cannot move anything. When the hand icon does intermittently appear I have not changed anything.
I have checked to make certain that my mouse pad doesn't have any sort of setting(s) that would prevent the mouse pad action when a key is being pressed ~ at least to the best of my rather newbie experience.
I have read that some have had problems with CS5 regarding this same matter but their issue was resolved simply by closing whatever browser they had open concurrently (with Ps). I tried this but it did not resolve my problem.
I had used the Beta of CS6 and it worked just fine which I find rather odd. I reset the preferences by hitting Shift+Alt+Ctrl and that also did not work. Also, if you don't know how I could go about resolving this issue do you know of an other way in which I would be able to move the circle when the Subtract Front Shape is in use? I have tried making the new circle and then just using the Move tool at the top of the tools bar.
I use the wind tool a lot and here recently it's been blowing into my layer instead of away from it. No matter what kind of layer I present it always blows into it.
