Model posed, lying flat with hands above head. Good shot, but the visible hand is smashed into a pillow a bit-- but it's not too bad-- i'm thinking i can "rebuild" the missing palm/ wrist area, but i realize that this is a difficult and touchy area-- it could turn out really bad if i'm not careful. if i do well however, it might not be too noticeable, after all-- it's likely not going to be the subject of focus.
i'm looking for suggestions about what technique should be employed here, in order to get the most out of what's available, and also any ideas for how i might best "rebuild"
I've a character writing on something (it could be paper, wall, etc). Now I'm looking for a way that attaches brush to his hand for interactive writing on that object.
Don't say I have to sync it manually! it's a close up shot and motion captured movement. Indeed it's really complex movement! Imagine you are painting on a sphere with Maya's texture paint tool.
I've been experimenting with using Gaussian Blur on uncompressed TIFF images. The TIFF images consist of scans of printed images with a screen ruling.
I've been noticing an 8x8 blocking artifact when compressing the blurred images to JPEG's. (The reason for not using the scanner's Descreen feature is so that I can selectively blur.)
Here, a JPEG without prior blurring appears on top, and a JPEG with prior blurring appears on the bottom:
Would blurring the JPEG, instead of blurring the TIFF beforehand, be preferable?
I have a modeled right hand part and a detail drawing of that right hand part with a pin that defines r.h from l.h. and I would like to save them as a left hand part then change the model by reversing the pin. How would I proceed with this task?
Brushes - I want a square pointed brush end for blocking out the background after using the magic wand. The round brush end does not work well on straight surfaces.
Say you have a dynamic block of a hinge, and you want to stretch it to the hight of a door. The dynamically blocked hinges have a base point, and a grip point. I place the base point at the bottom of the door, and stretch from the grip point to the top of the door, (so that there is a hinge on both the top & bottom of the door).
What i want, is for the array tool to automatically place another hinge in the center of the stretch, but only after the top hinge has stretched to/greater than 1000mm. I want this newly added hinge to stay in the center of my two hinges already in place (whenever the hinges are stretched higher or lower, the middle hinge moves to the center), and NOT add anymore hinges, 3 maximum.
When I try ti import I get this error message: 'Error loading toolkit script 'ImportCompactDataSource (not enough memory)' And I can't import anything. I can't seem to fid a common error online, either.
I've already tried purging the cache in preferences. Didn't seem to work.
I wasn't really sure how to put that into a title, but yeah. I'm sure it's pretty easy to figure out, but I just don't really feel like it.. I basically mean, how do you select a part of an image and move it onto another one without it being on top of the other image?
I've just found a copy of Photoshop cs4 at a price I might actually be able to afford. I'm a little worried that there might be a problem with the activation code though. Is anyone here using a second hand version of photoshop or has anyone had a problem reactivating a product. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's still quite a lot of money to shell out for something that won't work.
i have recently upgraded my computer with a new mb, 8gb ram, clean install of vista 64 bit and cs4. after initial problems with screen lag i installed a new graphics card and all seems to be working fine. problem is using the hand tool. i was accustomed in cs3 to comparing two files side by side, let's say the same image with two different levels of sharpening. i was able to view both images at 100% and using the hand tool move each image independently. this made comparing particular areas of the images easy. in cs4 when i open two images and use the hand tool it moves both images at the same time.
i'm working on something that the hand tool is constantly selected? You know the white hand tool (H). If I try and select any other tool..I can't select it as the hand tool wont change
My cursor is showing the hand tool no matter what tool is selected. And the tools of course do not work then. PS restart does not help, I have to restart the PC (Vista 32 Ultimate).
I read about this problem many time in the web. Why isn`t there any solution? Even CS4 11.01 has this bug.
I'm a photoshop noob and I just purchased the CS3 version.
I've been experimenting with different texts and styles and everything was going fine until..
I must of hit something by mistake but every time I click on a new tool icon on the left hand side (like text or brush for example) it doesnt come up. When I mouse over my image all I get is the hand icon. Its like stuck on the hand icon or something. I've been trying to figure it out for the past 20-30 min.
Closing photoshop doesn't fix it either. I'm thinking I must of put myself in some special mode or something. The tool will be highlighted to the left..but like I said all that shows up when I mouse over is a little hand icon.
way to use the hand tool (or spacebar) even if the entire image is visible, like you could do in previous versions. One might wonder why you would want to pan if you can already see the entire image. This comes up when one of your layers is bigger than the main image. If you try to Transform the layer, but the transform handles are off the edge of the screen, you need the hand tool. Otherwise you have to zoom out even further to get at the handles.
I'm working along in PS CC (and this happened in CS6) and all is going fine. Then for some unknown reason the cursor changes to a hand and none of the tools will work. The only way to reset PS, is to restart the computer. Just restarting PS won't work.
My hand tool quit working. I looked in the forums. I've closed all browsers, restarted, rebooted, and removed the prefs.psp file. Not sure what to do now?
I have just purchased Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design and Web Premium. In Photoshop, the hand tool is not working. The hand icon shows but does not pan the open image.
Not sure how to really describe, other then i have recently (because of my playing with Photoshop) gotten back into some doodling, I have seen a few posts here and there of people doing hand sketches and transfering them to photoshop and "painting" them.
My big issue atm would be getting the outline darkened and cleaned up, I know my pictures are a bit "rough." Everytime i try to sharpen the outline it gives me a kinda black and white esque photo copier effect, I know i could probably skip this step and just ink the original and work from that, but is there a way it would work on here?
Here is an example of the pick i'm working with now, just a simple sketch i did in a couple free minutes the other day.
Have been working on some images over several days, when suddenly I can no longer change the tool. It seems locked on the hand tool even thought I haven't even used the hand tool and I don't know what its for...
I start up the program (Photoshop CS) the hand tool is selected. No matter what I try I can not select any other tools at all. I've been trying to self teach myself this program for about 6 months and I've never chosen to use the hand tool at all, so I never intentionally set anything to make it default or anything like that.
In Photoshop CS3, the hand tool is the only tool I can now use: no matter what tool I click, the hand tool stays, nothing else happens. I tried restarting Photoshop and that didn't work.
The cursor displays the Hand on any image I open, regardless of what tool is selected. I can select other tools, change the pallette and the cursor is normal but I go back over to the image and it goes to the hand and I can't do anything.
I just got my new computer, which is much better then my last comp. It Had Vista Pre-installed un like my last computer that had XP. Photo shop runs perfectly fine until I use the Hand tool to move about the image. After that the Brushes lags a good half second behind where i make the mark. If I minimize then maximize photo shop the problem is gone. But i Use the hand tool ALL the time and minimizing and maximizing repeatedly is not a viable solution.
I have both cs2 and 3 installed using vista and it only happens on cs3.
when i zoom in to paint on a pictures, usually at 100% or more i can paint ok but when i press the space bar down to use the hand tool and go back to painting all of a sudden there is a delayed slow pen drag on the screen.
Offline help for Photoshop is zero. Somehow the "i Adobe Help" shows almost no offline help documents; I seem to remember there being more than presently, re "Creative Cloud".
Online help can't be accessed using the top right-hand button.I just wandered around in the maze of web pages, found an invitation to a online live "chat", logged in with my email address and password for another of countless times, filled out a form including my full postal address...then waited from five people in front to...have a chat with someone who could only talk about installations, hadn't a clue about what I had written in the form, said my version of Photoshop was too old to qualify for online chat...anyway, despite the pleasantness of the person the encounter and website system added up to further evidence that Adobe "help" is unprofessional, a waste of time, low cost...And the bug to gety started by Ctrl+Alt+Shift should have been fixed months ago.
I used to have to log in as Administrator, to make Photoshop go; now at least I can have other software running, by the Ctrl++ working (did not work, originally); but now, not having help....don't like it.I am connected to the Internet. The whole time Photoshop claimed I was not, email was being picked up and at one stage I was having an online chat, also getting the same error when testing the "help" button.
I'll be going back to upgrading a big variety of alternatives to Adobe software. I thought having so many, from so many other providers, would be more expensive and less effective than learning the Adobe equivalents; I now believe I was wrong. The bugs don't get fixed and the "help" is a disasterous waste of time.the phone, earlier this year; now I can't find the numbers to phone! Also, the bugs took hours of time that would have been better spent learning the software.Adobe software is used by professionals; whom I believe have better things to do than spend hours because of bugs better suited to Beta/whatever editions. Having the latest version, in a "cloud", means getting the latest bugs first.
I have some hand drawings scanned into a computer that I want to clean up in Photoshop.I'm going to use the eraser tool to erase the smudges, though I want to darken the lines of the drawing without having to trace back over it with a pencil, pen, or paint brush. I played a bit by darkening the levels.
