Photoshop :: Mac CS6 Crash With NVIDIA GTX470 Graphics Card

Jun 25, 2012

I've recently upgraded my Mac Pro's graphics card from an Asus 256MB 8400GS to a 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470. Everything seems to work fine in CS6 suite apart from a weird anomaly where, dragging the 'Depth of Field' slider on a Photoshop 3D layer, Photoshop crashes. All of the other 3D controls appear to work fine, just the 'Depth of Field' causes the crash.

I've tried disabling 'Open CL' and using the lowest settings, but I still get the crash. When I reinstalled the less powerful Asus card, I didn't get a crash and could use the slider fine. Would this be an NVIDIA driver issue, or Adobe bug with NVIDIA GTX cards?

Photoshop :: CC Not Finding NVidia Card (PC)

Sep 11, 2013

I've lost all of my 3D functionality as Photoshop CC is now only recognising my intel graphics card, not my nVidia GT540M. It was working perfectly last night, but mid video render it stopped. I have had both a nVidia and photoshop update around the same time. If it's a software issue due to the updates, is there are workaround until there's a patch?

Photoshop :: CS6 Constant 25% CPU Usage With Nvidia Card

Feb 23, 2013

i'm using Adobe Photoshop CS6 (Cloud) and have the latest version installed. I experience a high cpu problem when i want to zoom in the picture, then sometimes the cpu load of the CS6 process is constant on 25%. I tried the graphic advanced settings in CS6 from light, normal, extended. With the light setting it happens not so often, but sometimes it is there.

My driver version is 310.90, but this happened also with previous versions or with beta 313.96.My graphic card is a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 470 Super Overclock with two different monitors connected.

I want to buy a newer Nvidia card in the near future, but it would be not so good if the problems persists.I can work more or less with CS6, that is not the problem, but the constant cpu load bothers me.

Photoshop :: Nvidia Video Card GTX670 In CC - Not Working?

Jun 8, 2013

I have been using PE10, but have just installed Photoshop CC v. 13.1.2 x64.  Although my video card (nvidia GTX 670, 2 gb RAM) is recognized by Photoshop, when I check "use graphics processor" under "preferences/performance" the converted RAW image is somewhat blurred at all zoom levels (except 100%) compared to when it is unchecked and sharp (for both Canon 1100D and 6D). The

problem may possibly reside in the RAW conversion, because if I convert the file with "use graphics processor" unchecked, and then subsequently check it after it has been opened, the image is not blurry and I have access to all of the video card supported function/ artmar4 (intel i5-3670, 24 gb RAM, Windows 7, 64 bit).

Photoshop Elements :: 9 Downloader Crash With Video Clips On Memory Card

Mar 31, 2013

I have a Canon SX30IS. When I use PSE9 to download from memory card, if there are any videos present on the card, the Photo Downloader crashes.

I believe that it is something to do with Apple Quicktime. When I uninstall Quicktime , PSE downloader does not crash while importing media form this camera,  but cannot play video clips. On reinstalling Quicktime , the PSE downloader crashes while searching the memory card for media.

I have not upgraded PSE twice now because of this crash. What makes it worse is that Apple Quicktime is a very poor media player, managing about 2FPS on the video clips from this camera when both the Canon and the VLC video codecs can manage 30FPS.

I would much prefer if I could choose to use a video renderer, like using any available Windows codecs rather than insisting on using annoying Apple software.

Photoshop :: CS4: Nvidia Geforce Vs. Nvidia Quadro

Dec 22, 2008

On my XPS 400 system I have a Geforce 7900GS 256MB card installed and on the other system, an XPS 730 H2C, I have dual GTX 280s.

Quadro cards designed for PS CS4 were simply way outside what I could afford. Just like I could not afford faster (above 7200 RPM) harddrives.

I figure, that is the experence of most PS license holders who visit and post in these forums.

My lay research tells me that "possibly" the biggest difference between, say my Geforce latest and greatest, and your Cadilac Quadro is in what the respective drivers are programmed to do.

CorelDRAW X3 :: NVIDIA Graphics Driver?

Unfortunately, I'm having an odd halting behavior when editing an image.  It seems that the redraw is the problem.  Is there a setting I can change that will get rid of this?

3ds Max :: Blank White Viewport With Nvidia Graphics

Feb 7, 2014

Recently I downloaded 3ds Max 2014 trial from autodesk. It worked without any problems for a week. It all started when I updated my Nvidia 630M with a WHQL certified graphics driver. When I opened Max after the driver update it closed with an application error which said that, an error has occurred and the application will now close.

Made a complete uninstall of max, plugins and graphics driver. But it had the same problem. Now it opens after a product update. But viewport is completly white. If I open any file it crashes. Tried changing the viewport renderer from Nitrous to Direct 3d and Open GL. But it doesn't even start and gives the same application error. It all happens only if I opened max with graphics card both with the old and the newer driver. It works fine with the integrated graphics.

dxdiag works fine and the report says that there are no problems.

Current specs are:

Intel Q9400 quad core

8GB RAM (this is the max for the motherboard)

Photoshop :: Max Graphics Card (PC) Performance For CS6?

Aug 26, 2012

Photoshop CS6 makes extensive use of graphic card features such as OpenGL and OpenCL. Prices of graphic cards that have those features range from well under $100 to over $4000 for top of the line Pro cards. If your system is only used for PS then there's no need to invest in features you don't need, such as those needed by video gamers. But you do want the best graphics card performance that PS can make use of.

Graphics cards to determine at what point additional graphics performance no longer improves PS performance? For example, does the card's clock speed effect PS performance? Does 2G of graphics card RAM offer any improvement over 1G (or 512MB)?

Photoshop :: A Graphics Card For X2 Monitors...

Jun 4, 2009

Frankly, the tech specs of individual cards leave my head in a spin and I'm not sure where else to go.  I've tried a couple of sales lines but they haven't left me feeling confident. I want a fairly high-end card but I don't do video and gaming.

I have run two monitors from a AT! Radeon X800 Pro (I think I got the numbers right) which doesn't permit me to color profile two monitors.  Consequently, my main monitor (Lacie Electron Blue) but the other one is always way off.  It gets even more alarming if the image on the cheapo monitor looks better than the profiled monitor.

It does make proofing difficult if I have the thumbnail on the cheapo and a larger image on the profiled monitor especially if you have more than one image that are close in content. I use an Eye 1 device to profile and I would just like to be able to profile both monitors with that device in an easy way.

Photoshop :: Why CS6 Not Using New ATI Radeon HD 5770 Graphics Card On Mac

May 7, 2012

I just upgraded to Photoshop CS6.  In anticipation of this new version, I upgraded to a new graphics card, ATI Radeon HD 5770, in my first slot.  I have my main monitor, which is a Cintiq 21UX, plugged into that card.  I still have two older graphics cards, both NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GTs, in slots #2 and 4.

I have two Apple monitors connected to the card in slot #4.  When I first opened the program I received a message stating "Photoshop detected graphics hardware that is not officially supported".  I checked under Preferences-Performance and it is only detecting my NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT and the "Use Graphics Processor" box is checked.

The new Radeon graphics card is not detected.  I checked the list of Adobe tested GPUs and, if I read it correctly, it is listed as one of the approved cards.  I'm working on a 2 x 3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon Mac running OS Lion version 10.7.3.

Photoshop :: CC - Error Message Concerning Graphics Card

Photoshop :: Recommended Graphics Card - High...

Aug 16, 2009

performance of my pc in Photoshop CS4 (nor in Lightroom 2.4 or Photoshop Elements 7) and I suspect that the weakest point is the graphics card. So I ask for advise to get a high performance graphics card. In addition to pictures I do (or wish to to) full HD video with my Canon 5D MkII. My current setup is (2 years old): Asus P5K motherboard with P35 chipset, Q6600 CPU, 2 Samsung SP T166 500GB harddrives and 2 Samsyng SP F1 750GB harddrives both sets in RAID 0 (striped) and the sets have plenty of free space, 8 GB DDR2 RAM, Asus EN8600GT graphics card with 256MB RAM and a Dell 3007WFP display running 2560 x 1600 resolution. When I open more than 4 pictures in Photoshop I get the message: "With the current settings, up to 4 OpenGL documents can be shown at a time. ... This limit depends on the screen resolution, and the RAM available from the graphics card.  ..."When I work in Photoshop there are always plenty available RAM and the CPU are not usually on heavy load, and the disk activity is usually low.  Therefore I belive that the bottleneck in my system is the graphics card. Any thoughts on this? What graphics card should I buy that will take the workload and my workflow (many pictures at the time and usually in RAW) without me having to wait on the screen to update?Of course I would like to have the best price/performance ratio,

Photoshop :: Graphics Card / Computer Slow Down /...

Jul 29, 2009

my computer randomly blue screened and has done a few times since. All error codes and recent activity suggested a faulty driver recently installed. The newest thing i have installed was my Intuos 4 new drivers, but i found that removing them made no difference. Looking through my windows event log files, i found that my graphics card drivers had ran into some erros not long ago, so i updated my drivers (NVidia 9800GT (512MB vm)). I had a blue screen today since updating them, directly reffering to my graphics tablet drivers again, but this time the new ones. Also, i have noticed that explorer seems slower now, and programs close fast-ish still, but they close from top to bottom as if something crashed instead, and fourced them to close. I also am getting much more distortion on my desktop than usual, such as remains of windows previously open, or the dashed box that shows when you click and drag on the desktop staying there. A simple refresh gets rid of it, but i don't know if it is linked.
