View 2 Replies View RelatedI had already purchased CS4 (not extended), but did not have the install disk yet. Yesterday, I got my install disk. When I try to install CS4 it fails, even after I removed the extended version. When I follow the steps to correct the installation problem as described in a knowledge base article, the install seems to work, but when I launch the application, it comes up CS4 extended again and, of course, will not accept my purchased serial number. If I could return the software, I would, how to remove this trial software so I can install the one I bought?

View 1 Replies View Related I want to uninstall Photoshop cs5 trial version from my Mac that was just restored via Time Machine.
A bit to background and the attempts that I have made:My iMac (running 10.6.8) recently had a drastic hard drive crash. Luckily I was able to get it up and running again to make a Time Machine backup. The hard drive had to be replaced, and I restored my mac using the last (post crash) Time Machine backup.
However, when I tried to run Photoshop I get a Configuration Error and it tells me to uninstall and reinstall, and also gives me an Error code 6. I tried to uninstall it with the photoshop uninstaller but it tells me I need to install the Application manager (with a link where to get it). I download and install it, reboot the computer (btw I am running as the Admin when trying to remove the program) and then tried to uninstall again but it fails. After searching around on the net I tried to use the CS cleaner tool but all it finds is the Application Manager.
I noticed today that I have a folder called "Lost and Found" on the root directory of my hard drive. Inside are various numbered folders and some contain various Adobe files and folders such as CS5 service manager app, AMT, lenses, etc.
When I open Photoshop CS6 a registration window pops up informing me that the free trial of Creative Suites is over and I have to reenter my serial # to proceed.

This is on my Dell workstation, the one on which CS4 installed effortlessly.
I see tons of negative feedback on CS4 - is this typical of this forum or is this a program that's not ready to be hatched so to speak. I just shelled out a fortune to purchase CS 3.3 (CS Web Premium).
I also see that several people have had trouble uninstalling these trials so I'm reluctant to even find out for myself. I had the same problem trying to evaluate CS3 in that it wouldn't install completely and wouldn't remove at all. FORMAT is a dirty word in this house.
My daughter thought she would help me get rid of unused installed software on my computer so she uninstalled CS2. However, she didn't select the option of uninstalling so it could be reinstalled again.

View 6 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden Photoshop stopped working out of the blue. It was working one minute, then an hour later I went to use it again and it wouldn't work - I hadn't installed / uninstalled any software/drivers in that time, nor had I made any changes to any system settings. When I click on the shortcut to run Photoshop, literally nothing happens. I thought maybe doing a fresh install would work, so I tried to uninstall it, but clicking on it in Add or Remove Programs does literally nothing either. There are no error messages, nor does anything appear on screen - literally nothing happens when I either try to run the program or uninstall it.

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit. How can I get Photoshop completely off my system without formatting my drive and doing a fresh install?
I uninstalled all of my PS Plugins; then uninstalled CS-5 (Win-7/64bit), with Win-7 "Programs and Features" Uninstall utility,& all "stated" Successful.
When checking Program Files / ADOBE, there's still a folder labeled Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 bit), and consists of 58 MB of what appear to be various Plugin "data"
Since I've uninstalled all of the plugins, & plan to reinstall them from scratch, I'm temped to Delete the folder------ Just not sure why the Uninstall didn't remove it?
I just upgraded to PS CS4 and want to remove PS CS3. Since I downloaded them both I have no install/uninstall disk. Can I safely use Windows XP's "add remove" program from the control panel?

I've given up on CS4 and wanted to try CS3. I still have a few days left on my trial with CS4. Do I Have to uninstall it before installing CS3? I'm hoping I'll have better luck with it.
View 11 Replies View RelatedCS3 began to operate strangely (eg multiple unrequested Help windows, customized Colour Settings not sticking) so I decided to reinstall CS3.
First I deactivated CS3 (standalone, not part of a suite) then I tried to uninstall it. Using (Vista's) Program/Features I started the uninstall process - this began ok but stopped with the message:
"Summary
Errors: 2 components:
X Adobe photoshop CS3
Component removal failed
X Shared components
Component removal failed"
Then I tried to Reinstall the program (also from the Program/Features function) hoping that this would lead to a successful removal. But this led to exactly the same message after a few steps.
So - I cannot remove the program and cannot reinstall it.
Have searched this forum and Googled for an anwser without success. Grateful for any light in my darkness.
