Photoshop :: How To Save JPEG Larger Then 30.000px
Mar 18, 2012
what settings or option do I need to take, if I want to save my .PSB as a JPEG and want to avoid reducing the size down to 30.000px. Actually I do not care if some editors won't be able to handle JPEGs larger than 30.000px. I just want to produce one with 39.000px, and can't imagine PS won't allow me to do that.
I'm trying to export a JPEG so that the file size is smaller, for use on the web. So the file I have is 1.1 MB. I try to export via LR4 using the percentage slider, but no matter what percentage I use, the file size is always GREATER than 1.1 MB! And if I try to limit the size by inputing a value, say 1000 kb, I get an error message saying I can't do that for some reason:  Also, this is not the case with just one file, it is numerous files.Â
1) From LR export to PS 2) Do all essential editings. 3) Save. File become 'xyz.tiff' now. (I want to keep this as master copy) 4) Crop to 4r, Save a Jpeg copy as 'xyz 4r.jpg' 5) PS save it as a copy, but do not automatically open the Jpeg copy. The tiff remains opened. I have to manullay Open, browse to it, and open the Jpeg. The 'Open Recent' list also do not list 'xyz 4r.jpg'. 6) Do 4r sharpening for the 'xyz 4r.jpg', save it. Â Basically the files I want to keep and worked on is like this: NEF -> xyz.tiff -> xyz 4r.jpg -> xyz sml.jpg(maybe) Â Now, it there a way in step (5) to have PS save the JPEG copy, and automatically open it? I don't care if the Tiff copy remains opened or not, I am done with it.
I got a new computer (Windows 7) at work this April and as of today, when I work on any of my JPEG images in PS CS5,suddenly it has defaulted its "Save As" to JPEG2000. How did this default change and how do I get it to default save as. JPEG again? There was nothing I noticed and no warning as to why this has changed, I didn't touch a thing! Â (Last week, Adobe had to work with our IT manager to fix a problem that started occuring with my new Adobe Acrobat Pro 11 program. They had to log into my computer and change a registry thing to get it to work properly again...also something that changed without warning!!)
I was trying to print a 1/8" bleed 5x7 PDF file that was save as PDF from Photoshop CS6, but when I upload the PDF to Staple print shop, it states that the actual file size is in a letter sheet 8.5x11 size, why. Is this happening?
I'm running PSPX3. the effect of no compression (or compression factor = 1) on saving files. I've got a JPEG image file straight from my camera that's approximately 4.1MB in size. If I do nothing else but "Save As" with a compression factor of 1, the new file size is approximately 50% larger, or 6.2MB. What has changed to make the file size larger? Both images are still 72DPI, 3648X2736px. I can't image that I have done anything to "improve" image quality, so why did the file size increase?
Issue is this: Photoshop's 'Save for Web & Devices' indicated file size does not appear to match size of actual exported file. I made a couple dozen animated gif banner ads that are required to be under 40k. I'm using PShop CS5 v 12.0.4 x64. I'm on an iMac osx 10.6.8  Save for Web & Devices says a file will be 39.97k  I click Preview to see the animation and get details. It agrees, preview file is 39.97k   So I save, and look at exported file in Finder (Get Info) And it is 57k  I understand that this is portion of the hard drive used for storage and bigger than 39.97k because of smallest chunk size that can be allocated by Finder. But isn't second number (53,337 bytes) actual file size?  So, question:
1) Is the file size still actually just 39.97k and if so is there a way to see this to prove to myself and the client?
2) If saved file is truly larger than export size indicated by photoshop, is there a straightforward way to accurately predict size at which file will be saved? Or is trial-and-error my best bet.
I am trying to optimize some images for web to have a smaller file size. I am using "Save for Web" feature, and every time I try to save a file, the actual file output size is a lot bigger than the size it shows on the "Save for Web" dialog.
For example, I have a 607 bytes .gif, when I open "Save for Web" it shows 207 bytes for 16-colors but when I save it the output file is 1.22 kb.
From the start, I wasn't able to save to jpeg without getting a dcm extension (no jpg extension). However, if I saved to Multi-picture Format, I would get the familiar .jpg and everything worked fine for a while. This morning I cannot find a file format in "save as" that results in the .jpg file extension.
I have a PSD file (16bits/prophoto RGB) with some layers. I combine the layers to ONE and change the bit depth to 8 bits. Then I do one of two things: Â (a) I save the file for the web in JPEG 90% high-quality and with sRGB ... filesize 340 602 (b) I change the color profile to sRGB and save the file as JPEG in the highest quality (10) ... filesize 174 549 Â I am at loss here. How on earth is it possible that the second file is almost half the size as the one saved for the web? What effect causes this? It is very easy to save for yhe web but as long as the JPEGs are that bigger it's no option.
I work a lot for companies doing big media installations (auto motor shows for example) where we have huge resolutions, which often exceed the maximum comp size of 30.000px in width.  Is this limitation still there in CC? And if so, why can't it be set higher? With LED technology getting better the resolutions are skyrocketing (I already worked on 3mm pixel pitch LED panels)  Also something that goes in conjunction with this: Mask Feather size, which is limited to 1000px in AE CS6 and lower. Any change there in CC?If this limitations would be removed, it would be a good argument for CC.
I have re-installed APDS Ultimate 2013 onto a new computer and am having some issues setting up my styles and etc...for the most part I have been working on it as I go with no issues...but I can't remember how I set up my export to dxf settings before. I think I just used the default settings, I exported to dxf from the idw environment by saving copy as and selecting dxf from drop down menu and selecting something like AutoCAD 2004. This has worked before and still does now, but the problem is the dxf's that are exported are huge. The drawing is of a single tiny part with basic geometry. The picture below shows the size difference between the files.
how I can make it a normal size, I don't really care about the size of the dxf except for the fact that I can't email it because we have a limit of 10MB.
First I pick out a foreground color, then a bg color. Now there is already a nice gradient in the blend box below the toolbox. Is there any way I can just save that? It's all I really need but in a larger size. I could just take a screen shot of it and then edit that with Gimp, but it seems like there must be a way of doing that within gimp.
I am working on many files today and for some reason, even though they are JPG files, when I save them, the dialog box comes up and wants to save it as a PSD. It's wasting a TON of time because I have to change it to JPG even though the file is already. I tried the open as-JPG option on any of them and it gives me the error message of -"Could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file". I'm in CS6 because there were too many issues with Photoshop CC.
I got a file that's only let me do Save for Web in jpg format. I choose png24, click save and it changes to jpg in the save dialog. Then I created a blank doc, copy everything from the problem file over to the new file and I can Save for Web in png just fine.
i just installed my new Photoshop cs6 (with the design standard package, student edition), and set about to make some graphics. Â i selected a new file, 300ppi, and set to work. Â after a while, i flatten the image and go to save when i go to save drop down, i get a bunch of odd cool-sounding options, raw, and tiff.seeing as i just made a normal no-frills graphic, i choose tiff. Â when i re-open image, i get a really crappy version of the image, with some odd color bars to one side.
When ever I try and save as a png or jpeg photoshop cc crashes and the file doesn't save. Also there is a warning button next to save that when i click it it says: Â "the current file format must be saved as a copy because: It will not save all the document layers."
I just finished creating a multi-layered document with photos and text and tried to save it as a JPEG so that I could use it in a slide show.I had done this a couple of days earlier and now PS6 won't let me. Â The only option is a GIF which looks lousy. The only thing I can think of is that I've recently downloaded ACR 7.1beta.
CS4, Mac OS X 10.7.5. JPEG is suddenly no longer offered as an option. Save for web still works, but I want to export a large image (not for web) using Save As... which I could always do previouly. I can't see a plug-in for it in the File Formats folder, but I don't know whether it used a separate plug-in anyway.
I just bought a mac, so I am completely mac stupid. I am having to learn everything all over again. I am running photoshop cs and when i go to save a pic as a jpeg, I then go to the folder that I saved it to and its not there. I can find it by typing the file name in the search menu. But when I click on it from there it keeps opening it up in photoshop. It shouldnt do that because its supposed to be just a regular jpeg.
I cannot save some images I've edited in the JPEG Format. Although I choose JPEG and overwrite the proposed filename (always xy.psd (!), I've selected already JPEG Format) with something like xy.jpg, the file is saved in photoshop fileformat (the file is something like 25mb big, it has the ending jpg but cannot be read from another application like ms paint -> original size of image is about 3 megs, jpg fileformat...). I also don't get the dialog box where I can choose the settings (like quality..).
i am working on a pic and i have a problem about saving the pic as a jpeg, i can save it under save for web whitch it i wont, sins it will make the pic quality more lousi. under save as i can only save it as a png, psd, pdd and so on, i need the jpeg save,
Using Photoshop CS2 on Mac OSX. I made an image, originally as a Photoshop (.psd) file. I took a JPEG and copied a .bmp on top of it, made some adjustments. Now I want to save as a JPEG (or any basic web format), but Photoshop won't let me. My only options for format are:
Photoshop Large Document Format Photoshop PDF Photoshop Raw TIFF
I made my own Christmas card in Photoshop and saved it out as a JPEG. It will not upload to any of the online Photo Centers nor will it import into iPhoto. For some reason the Adobe jpeg format is incompatible.
I made a billboard size image, which is roughly 150wx90h in 300 resolution in 8 bits and RGB mode and then save it as .PSB(since its a large file, its only applicable to save as .psb) after saving, I decided to save it as JPEG, after clicking file>save as. In the list of options there is no .JPEG included in the saving option, the ones are there are .TIFF, .RAW, .PSB, .DCM
When i tried saving it as .TIFF and chose Jpeg in the list, the result image came about 1.3GB size file which is i think odd..
Suddenly I am unable to save .psd and .tif (maybe others) to .jpeg due to 'program error'. My 'solution' for the moment is to save the .psd using maximum compatibility, then import into Lightroom, then export from Lightroom as .jpeg (ugh!) The .psd mode is 8-bit RGB. I have 155GB of space left on the HDD. I was able to save to .jpeg a few days ago,
