Photoshop Elements :: Export 11 People Tags To New Laptop?
Jun 21, 2013
I have just replaced my old laptop and wish to export the people tags on the desktop to the laptop. I had no problem exporting/importing the normal keyword tags, but cannot export/import the people tags.
I have just upgraded from PSE 9 to PSE 11 and have imported some pictures that I have tagged in another program. Importing tags for everything other than people works fine (already used tags are recognized and reused). But importing tags for people proved to be a problem. They did not merge automatically with my previous people tags in PSE. My imported people tags ar now placed under "Imported Keyword Tags" in the "Media" workspace. How do I merge or move them to the "People" work space where the people tags for PSE 11 is placed?
I also wonder why people and other tags are put in different places. Is it possible to view all keyword tags in one list/place?
I have just upgraded my Swedish PSE7 to an English PSE11. Of course the people keyword tags did not get converted into people tags because People is called Folk in Swedish. I was not aware of this mechanism prior to upgrading. How can I convert those keyword tags now?
Now, in the Media view, over in the Tags/Info pane, I have Events, Other, and Places Tags, but no People Tags. However, when I look at individual photos in my converted catalogs, the people's names are still attached to them; the people icon is still associated with each photo so marked.
In PSE 10, when you imported new photos, you could drag People Tags from the Tags pane to one or more selected photos to quickly tag the subjects. Now, apparently, I'll have to group any new photos with people in them by hand and retype names over and over again — although those tags are already available in the catalog.
This is clearly insane. Surely Adobe hasn't taken something easy (dragging a people tag over from the right pane to a newly added photo) and turned it into something cumbersome and inefficient?
How do I get the Media view to populate the People Tags in the Tags pane along with the Existing Events, Other, and Places Tags?
I upgraded from PSE9 to PSE11 and now the tags are separated on the right side, with the people tags below a line from which you can no longer add these tags to photos.
How am I supposed to add people tags to new photos?
Running PSE 11 on Win 8. Have many People Tags entered over the years, but now they do not show in the area to the right where all other Tags are listed. I can no longer add a people tag to any photos.
I upgraded from Elemetns 10 to Elements 11, but cannot find the "people tags" (Family, Friends, etc) that I had with Elements 10. How can I tag photos with the tags that were set up in Elemetns 10?
I've upgraded from PSE 6 to PSE 11. My people tags have carried over, but are not showing properly in the "People" view.
All my people tags are still present on the pictures and I can search using them by selecting "Advanced Search" in the media view. However, when I go to the People view, the only stacks I see are ones I have created in PSE 11 that were not tagged in my previous version. The names of all my previously tagged people only show when I click to view "Groups". Clicking on the name in "Groups" simply leads to the message "No people exist in this group" - even though the tag clearly shows on the images in the Media view.
Is there any way to convert the people listed as groups back to people tags that will be recognised by PSE? Even when I run the facial recognition software and tag people here, they still do not show up in the People view if they were previously tagged in PSE 6.
I have a huge number of photos in an Elements 9 catalog. Having downloaded the trial version of Elements 11 and opted to convert the catalog, I see that the 'people' tags now don't show. I know there is the new 'people' feature in v11, but I'd like to have the old people tags available there for clicking as well!
I imported a bunch of images (I had to re-create my catalog due to file system restructuring), the tags came in nicely, but a bunch are "People". How do I move those from "Keywords" to "People Tags"?
I just upgraded to PSE 12. So now all my organisation folders are under the "keyword" tag. And I have a lot of them. Of course they are organized in folder/subfolders. And the main ones are "places" "events". The same as the default ones in pse.
So is it possible to move categories/directories from the keyword tag to event/place/people tags (drag and drop doesn't work).
I have photoshop elements 11. People analyzer will not recognize people or allow me to tag people in my photos. It works with my older camera photos such as from my Nikon D300 but will not work with photos from my D800 (RAW).
I recently upgraded from PSE 10 to PSE 11. I already used tags to identify People by name. However, in the new People View not all of my people tags are present as People Stacks despite running the face recognition function. If I use the Add People function it just runs the face recognition feature that I have already run and named the specific person I want to see in the stacks.Strange thing is when I click the Add Group button I can see the missing people but do not know how to get them shown in the People Stacks?
I have about 11,000 pix in PSE 11 and growing, all of a large family. Using 'Add People" in organizer worked well up till I reached 9,000 pix. I get the msg that all faces have been tagged. I've been scanning about 300 pix from our old albums and always try to add people after each group. I am not even getting the "Is this a person" message. I can go to each batch and manually answer "Who is this? Database size problem??
I am using PSE 10 in Windows 7 environment. Have thousands of photos and hundreds of Keyword tags and many Categories and Sub-Categories.
It would be nice to have these Tags & Categoris names in an Excel file (or, comma separated text file) that I can use to easily see what Tags I have so that I don't create new tags with slightly different names. Such an easy-to-access and mange Excel file will be very useful, I think, to the overall cration and management of Tags.
I'm testing the new People tagging feature... organizing and searching seems to be no problem at all... My question though is whether this "tag" information is saved back to the actual files themselves, or whether it is kept separate in a corel database file??? i.e If I reformat my harddrive and then reimport my pictures, will the photos still have their tags!?!?! (photos area stored on a different networked drive)
The "date modified" data of the file has not changed after tagging... I only want to use this feature if the tags can be permanently written to the files.
I'm using Organizer 11. First time evething was ok, persons/faces were detected correctly, then after a few month Organizer doesn't detected new faces and said every time that all faces were detected already also when I imported new fotos from my camera...
(I use the german version, so I can not tell you the exact error message in english, hope you unserstand what I mean.)
As I found no solution, I created a new catalog and imported all photos including their tags newly to this empty catalog. But allready tagged persons are not persons anymore - their tags are now in the "imported keyword tags" (German: "Importierte Stichwort-Tags") and not in the "person/face tags".
How can I tell the organizer that the imported Tags are persons/faces to having no douplicates in the person-tags and normal keyword-tags?
Here some Background Information about my system:
PSE 11, Windows 8, 64 Bit 8GB, Intel i7. 3 catalogs with each 8000-10000 photos.
I have version 4.1 LR on both my home desktop as well as my laptop. I keep my desktop fairly well organized, and it is where I keep my image files for backup.....internal drive backed up onto an external drive.
My laptop is not so organized, and I am trying to clean it up. I use it primarily for a working system, when I'm not home.
My folder system on my laptop is different than the one on my organized desktop. Further, I may have image files on one system but not the other.
An example of what I do is as follows: when I am away from home for awhile, I like to try to save my pictures on the Compact Flash card until I get home. And, I also back them up onto my laptop and external portable hard drive as well. Before I get home, I often will use my laptop and LR to edit certain photos. I may in fact create new files when I create HDR images on my laptop.
When I get home, what I usually do is upload as soon as possible those original pictures from my Compact Flash card or external hard drive onto my home system so I have it there, with its backup. However, what I have not been doing is exporting any catalog settings file from my laptop and importing it onto my desktop.
My question is this: if I export a Catalog file from my laptop, without the negatives (images), and if there is a mismatch between the files on my laptop and my desktop, whether that's because of the file structure differences or whether that's because my laptop may have slightly different files on it than my desktop has, will the Catalog settings still transfer properly? For instance, if I have an HDR image on my laptop, along with any Catalog settings, and this HDR image is not on my home network, will a problem or error be created when I import the laptop Catalog file from my laptop without also importing that HDR file? I would think that the catalog settings for that laptop HDR file would be there, but because the HDR file is not being transferred over, perhaps there might be a problem?
I know I should probably get better on my workflow while away from home, but for now, I'm trying to clean up the existing problem that may exist.
If I have photographs with my children from age 1 through 40 in them, Should I sequence the search from age one on up, at say, one year increments? When you tell it to IGNORE is it just for that pass? Why does it constantly miss the obvious, known, face and ask about the bend in the chair that is not even a person?
