Photoshop Elements :: Albums From 7 To 11 Haven't Migrated With Tags?
Aug 10, 2013
I have just converted catologues from PSE 7 to trial PSE11, and albums are listed, but tags don't seem to have migrated with the albums. Do I have to go back and tag over 16000 images?
I am changing computers and plan to reinstall my elements 9 onto the new one. Before I uninstall the program off the old computer is there a way to save my "albums" and "tags"?
Upgraded from Photoshop Elements v6 to PS Elements v12. v12 does not display captions, tags or albums created in v6. Where did they go? I did back up via v6 and loaded .tly in v12.
Using Photoshop Elem’7- I have had a major problem with my pc and I have gone back to factory settings, I have reloaded the Photoshop software – I can see all my photo’s back on my hard drive and also on Photoshop but I cannot retrieve my albums and keyword tags.
I don't assign or use keywords. It does it on all albums. I made new albums and it did not work, even on the new albums. There was one album that did not have the problem, but when I tried to transfer an affected album's files to it, it developed the problem. I reset the preferences in both Organizer and Editor, and that did not work. It prevents me from moving files out of as well as into albums.Â
I'm using Organizer 11. First time evething was ok, persons/faces were detected correctly, then after a few month Organizer doesn't detected new faces and said every time that all faces were detected already also when I imported new fotos from my camera... Â (I use the german version, so I can not tell you the exact error message in english, hope you unserstand what I mean.) Â As I found no solution, I created a new catalog and imported all photos including their tags newly to this empty catalog. But allready tagged persons are not persons anymore - their tags are now in the "imported keyword tags" (German: "Importierte Stichwort-Tags") and not in the "person/face tags".
How can I tell the organizer that the imported Tags are persons/faces to having no douplicates in the person-tags and normal keyword-tags?
Here some Background Information about my system:
PSE 11, Windows 8, 64 Bit 8GB, Intel i7. 3 catalogs with each 8000-10000 photos.Â
I have just upgraded my Swedish PSE7 to an English PSE11. Of course the people keyword tags did not get converted into people tags because People is called Folk in Swedish. I was not aware of this mechanism prior to upgrading. How can I convert those keyword tags now?
I just converted from PSE 10 to PSE 11.  Now, in the Media view, over in the Tags/Info pane, I have Events, Other, and Places Tags, but no People Tags. However, when I look at individual photos in my converted catalogs, the people's names are still attached to them; the people icon is still associated with each photo so marked.  In PSE 10, when you imported new photos, you could drag People Tags from the Tags pane to one or more selected photos to quickly tag the subjects. Now, apparently, I'll have to group any new photos with people in them by hand and retype names over and over again — although those tags are already available in the catalog.  This is clearly insane. Surely Adobe hasn't taken something easy (dragging a people tag over from the right pane to a newly added photo) and turned it into something cumbersome and inefficient?  How do I get the Media view to populate the People Tags in the Tags pane along with the Existing Events, Other, and Places Tags?
I have just upgraded from PSE 9 to PSE 11 and have imported some pictures that I have tagged in another program. Importing tags for everything other than people works fine (already used tags are recognized and reused). But importing tags for people proved to be a problem. They did not merge automatically with my previous people tags in PSE. My imported people tags ar now placed under "Imported Keyword Tags" in the "Media" workspace. How do I merge or move them to the "People" work space where the people tags for PSE 11 is placed? Â I also wonder why people and other tags are put in different places. Is it possible to view all keyword tags in one list/place?
I've just bought a copy of PhotoShop CS4 student edition and requested my serial number on Tuesday afternoon. It's now Friday evening and I still haven't received a serial number. How long should it take? Other than opening another help request on the Adobe site is there a way to chase this up? I feel really annoyed after buying the software that I have to wait all this time to use it. It says on the box that I cannot install the software without the serial number - is this true? Will it not go into a trial mode until I get the serial number? If anyone can suggest a way for me to move forward I'd be grateful as I have some school projects I want to get finished and I need to use this software.
I continually receive a message saying that I have an Internet ot firewall problem whenever I attempt to upload photo albums to share using Elements. Neither is factually correct.
How do I recover albums that disappeared? I was in Elements, came back to Organize and thousands of hours of work were gone...no albums at all. Can they be recovered?
Using Photoshop Elements 10 organizer, all pictures are still present in the organizer, however all of the elements have disappeared? How I can recover the albums?
My computer had to be reformatted with the operating system re-loaded (Vista). I reloaded PE 10 and then moved my saved photos back into the software. the problem is that all of my tags (various family and friends) seem to have disappeared completely from the Organizer as has an album I painstakingly set up. I have all the photos, but a subset of them are not organized into the album I created.  Is there any way to get back my tags (the categories aren't even showing in Organizer and the photos aren't tagged) and to get back my album?
I'm a layman in using PSE (version 8). I've arranged all my photos in sevaral catalogs and I've build several albums. Now I have to move over all this to a new PC, also running a newer version of PSE (10 or 11). On that PC the main folder in which al my pictures reside will probably be on a different drive.
After installing Elements 11 I used the convert feature to pull my Albums and Catalog from Elements 9 . I see the Albums from elements 9 listed in my elements 11 organizer but most don't have pictures in them, and some don't have all the pictures that they should. I then try to select the Album photos from an external hard drive to import them but elements 11 tells me that the photos already are in the Catalog and won't download them. I tried changing the name of the Album in Elements 11 to see if I could pull the pictures from the External HD though I get the same message.
I am using Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 on a Mac running Mountain Lion. When I opened PSE today and the organizer, I noticed that the Albums all had a "- sign" - sure enough, I looked in each album and they are all empty. I didn't actually notice it until I'd created a new album, dragged in some photos, looked at the photos in the editor and then went back to the organizer where I found that the album I had been working on was empty. The photos themselves all appear to be in the media of the organizer but just not in the albums an longer. or if not, how the heck do I just delete an album?  btw, all my "folders" still show up below the albums.  a PS.. since posting this, all the media has disappeared from my organizer (the albums part) previously if I clicked on the "all media" button, it would show me all my photos but they have now disappeared as well.  a new glitch -- now when I double click on an album - photos appear in it that don't belong there -- in fact in most albums, I'm getting the photos I just imported into my hard drive today and made into a new album!
