Sep 19, 2012My image is jumping each time I try to use the lasso tool. When I complete the selection, I find I have missed (indented) a whole area from when the jump occurred.

Sep 9, 2013I use Lasso tool in astrophotos to increase saturation of image and then inverse to take saturation out of background ..ie stars but as I start to take saturation out of background the whole image basically turns into a color negative(for lack of better discription).Do I need to reinstall program (CD)

Jan 4, 2013Will start using lasso tool and then the picture will flicker and the lassoo tool will not function to continue with the selection. Has worked ok in the past but not now. Have tried reset tool but did"t work out problem. Why the flicker of the picture as this through the alignment of the lassoo off and you cannot continue with the outline.

I know I can use delete or backspace but sometimes I get cought up trying to finish my selection and with so many points made, that doesn't seem like a cool things to do. I just want to go to one area of the selection and move it a bit.

Nov 28, 2012The lasso selection tool in PSE9 is malfunctioning. When I draw a selection, I immediately get a message saying: "Warning: No pixels are more than 50% selected. The selection edges will not be visible."
This is the kind of message I would normally get when I select wrong numbers for feathering. But now the message comes up when I use the lasso tool to try to select an area. When I hit cancel the message, the selection disappears. But the pulldown menu shows that I can "deselect." When I do that, and start all over, I get the same problem.
I quit and restarted PSE9 to try to fix this but it didn't work. Then I restarted my Mac computer, but that didn't fix it either

Oct 29, 2011I have an image, I was manipulating it, smudging etc. Then I selected the lasso to crop out the image. Then I wanted to go back and blur something else. But it wont let me. The lasso'd section of the image stays flashing, even when I double click it to stop it. I am stumped as to how to exit this function. I don't know why it doesn't just switch to blur when I press the BLUR button.
How can I get this to stop? It keeps interrupting my edits and I now have to do it all over again in a separate window as no matter how many times I undo the lasso section will not stop flashing!

Aug 5, 2013'm using a Mac with the latest version of the Creative Cloud. I've been stuck with the sillest problem ever with the Character Tool.It started with the size tool. If I set it to 200px and press enter, it will suddently jump to 11443.91 px. It does the same thing if I use the slider (clicking the tT and sliding up and down), it will show me the right number, but the second I let it go, it jumps to a complete random number. If I put it at 300 px, it goes to 11443.91px ... again.Now, all the other character tools are doing the exact same thing. The line-height, the tracking, everything.

When working in a layered document (PSD) and making a selection using the Lasso Tool and/or Polygonal Lasso Tool I am unable to pan by holding the SPACE bar. Yet, if using the mouse, panning works great.Sometimes very early on in making the Lasso selection, using my tablet, I can pan if I'm patient - gotta hold SPACE and attempt to pan and if I wait long enough it'll actually do it. But after I've placed a bunch of points, forget it.
The larger the doc and the more layers it has the worse it is.

Mar 22, 2013I've been suing the magnetic lasso tool to make a selection of a group of people; there is a lot of going between legs and over heads, etc. But invariably when I get about half way through the selection the magnetic lasso tool acts as if I've completed the selection, i.e. I tap the image and the point of the last tap suddenly is connected with my point of origin. I have done this several times, making sure that I didn't tap too hard or anything like that, but that seems not to be the problem (I'm using CS6/Mac 10.6.8, for what it's worth).
So, my question is: is there a way to erase part of the selection? I know about the add to/subtract from the selection; but that's not getting me back to where I need. For example, the line that cuts through my group, the line going from my end point to point of origin, well, if I can delete that line and continue on from the end point that might resolve this problem.

Aug 16, 2005I have two layers overlapping, and want to select only the overlapping section. I made both layers less opaque so I could see the exact intersection lines. But when I use the magnetic lasso, it selects along the lines pretty well, but in some places it is warped or a bit crooked. Is there a better way or a better tool?

May 4, 2008I seem to be having a problem using the Magnetic Lasso Tool In Photoshop CS3 Extended as when I get half way around an egales beak zoomed in at 66.67% and start to single click around the tight corners the photo is covered over with a white background and the palettes to the right of the Photo e.g.
layers, channels, paths becomes white to and all you can see is the paths that the Magnetic Lasso Tool has made around the beak until you click any key on the keyboard but the annoying thing about doing that is that the path automatically becomes selected there for I am unable to draw the paths around the rest of the beak does anyone know of a patch of some kind that will correct this error?

I have always had some minor issues with the spot removal tool occassionally jamming up or not working smoothly and taking a long time in LR3 on PC, but so far using the tool in LR 4 on Mac has been painful. Oct 9, 2013While using the Lasso tool often (10% of the time) it will complete the selection pre-maturely, with a single left click. Similarly and about the same frequency it wont start a path at all and I will need to click again to begin the selection. This has been happening for 5months since I upgraded to Creative Clous and Photoshop CC. Im running a more than capable machine.
Is there any known resolution for this?

I then inverse the selection and apply a Gausian Blur. However it is very time consuming to do this 200 times. Dec 9, 2008When I'm using the polygonal lasso tool to cut something out it tends to suddenly hook up back to the beginning point without me telling it to do so and therefore ruining the remainder of the job.
I noticed that it only does this when I'm moving back on myself (for example going round the edge of something curved etc)
This had been bugging me for ages and I can't believe the photoshop people would have let something this annoying slip through the cracks.
Is there a fix for this or something obvious I am missing?

Photoshop :: Lasso Tool Always Adds To Selection
Aug 2, 2007Recently, my freehand lasso tool in CS2 has been, by default, adding to the first selection I make without me asking it to. Usually you would have to hold shift down to do this, but it is doing it automatically. How do I stop this?
Caps lock is not on.
I would prefer it to be back to normal because I often deselect using the lasso tool by clicking out of a faulty selection I have made.
I hope that this makes some sense.
